The next day, Leonard Li and Shane Shen rattled along in a carriage into Clearwater Village.

Shane Shen was so carsick he thought the world was spinning. He’d always dreaded carriage rides, but Lily Evans’s cooking was just too good—he couldn’t stop thinking about her food. So, despite his motion sickness, the moment Leonard Li suggested it, he hopped right in.

"Still better than names like Doggie Lee," Leonard Li replied.

Shane Shen was speechless. Now that he thought about it, Lucky did sound much better than the usual rural names like Doggie or Fortune.

Leonard Li squinted at Lily Evans’s house in the distance, murmuring, "Lucky, Lucky... Is his surname Yuan and his given name Bao?"

"Madam, Leonard Li’s carriage is almost here," Gu Yu reported.

"Lucky, come on, the guests are here!" Lily Evans straightened Lucky’s robe. For today’s visit, Lucky had changed into a long gown and looked absolutely dashing. If it weren’t for the guests outside, Lily could have stared at her handsome husband all day!
