Ghostly Person

Patrick Li nodded. "That's right. Keep monitoring. Make sure to subdue him the moment Shadow Soul Sect catches him. By the way, how's Colin Li doing?"

"He still seems to be at Shadow Soul Sect," Colin Li replied.

"He's your nephew. Can you help us out? Any news, let us know right away. Best if we can catch Evan Yang ahead of time," Patrick Li said.

"I'll talk to him soon, but that kid's too slippery. Can we really catch him early?" After all these encounters, Colin Li found Evan Yang harder and harder to read, always feeling that Evan Yang had ways to slip out of their grasp.

"How would we know if we don't try? The Chu Family needs watching too—if Evan Yang goes back, Shadow Soul Sect will definitely catch him," Patrick Li said.

"Yeah, let's keep things quiet for now. We'll wait for news from Shadow Soul Sect," Colin Li nodded.

As for the Chu Family, they're also under watch, but clueless Chase Chu keeps trying to go out and look for Evan Yang, only to get stopped by Victor Chu every time.

He walked up to a stone coffin and slowly opened it. Suddenly, a shrill sound echoed from the coffin, making Evan Yang jump back. He focused his divine sense inside and found it empty—except for a stone tablet.

After Evan Yang left, he unknowingly stepped right into a trap.

But as Evan Yang got closer, he realized his estimate was wrong. Over there, a stone tablet recorded: in a certain year and month, forty-eight thousand three hundred Emperors died.

All these stone coffins belonged to people of great importance.

"Why did so many die? Was it some Immortal-Devil War? That can't be right. Who built this mausoleum?" Evan Yang was baffled by the whole thing.

Just then, a voice echoed from ahead—a voice that was strangely alluring.

Evan Yang slowly walked over and spotted a glowing pillar ahead. It was so massive, it would take hundreds of people to wrap their arms around it, and it was surrounded by a layer of radiant light.

"What is this?" Evan Yang wondered, eyeing the pillar that seemed to connect all the way down to the ground. He walked closer.

The voice echoed again.

"Hey there." Suddenly, a phantom appeared on the membrane in front of the pillar.

Evan Yang jumped—this was a burial ground, so how could there be a phantom here?

"Emperor Bai Tian?" Evan Yang muttered, reading the inscription. He opened a few more coffins—same eerie noise, but different names, each ending with 'Emperor.' "Are these all Emperor Realm tombs?" Evan Yang estimated there were at least several thousand. The scale alone shocked him.

"Me? I am a god—an eternal god!" the figure replied.

"A god? Are you kidding me? Are you human or ghost?" Evan Yang snorted.

"Looks like you don't believe me. Well, talking to you is pointless, but I've been here for years and you're the only living person I've seen. Your strength is weak, but I'm willing to make a deal with you," the figure said with a chuckle.

"What kind of deal?" Evan Yang asked.

"Just help me with something, and I'll give you endless power! Even the Immortal Lords won't dare look down on you!" the figure said confidently.

Evan Yang felt the figure was exaggerating. He smiled, "I don't know who you are, but your claims are way over the top."

"Don't believe me? Then let me show you. Close your eyes," the figure said, smiling.

Evan Yang ignored him. "I'm not closing my eyes until I know where you come from."

"Not closing them? No problem. Just look at me, keep looking." The figure gave Evan Yang a strange smile and stared at him.

Evan Yang gradually became lost in that smile, which grew deeper and deeper, finally imprinting itself in his mind.

Soon, Evan Yang's mind was filled with that bizarre smile. "Ha ha, I've taken control of another one. Don't struggle—at your level, you can't escape my ghostly arts," the figure laughed.

Soon, Evan Yang's mind was filled with that bizarre smile. "Ha ha, I've taken control of another one. Don't struggle—at your level, you can't escape my ghostly arts," the figure laughed.

"Who are you, really? Get out of my body!" Evan Yang was shocked to find that someone seemed to be trying to take over his body from within.

"Once I've targeted you, how could I let you go? I wanted you to help me earlier, but since you refused, I'll just do it myself. Once I seize your body, I'll be able to do whatever I want," the figure sneered.

"Dream on if you think you can possess me!" Evan Yang refused to give in, quickly sitting down, closing his eyes, and starting to resist.

The figure and Evan Yang began a furious battle within Evan's sea of consciousness.

"Heh, didn't expect you, a Heavenly-Immortal, to have such strength. Fine, I'll play with you for a bit," the figure laughed.

At this moment, Evan Yang and the figure felt as if they were fighting in a dark space—a place that would determine who would control Evan's body in the future.

To others, this space was simply the soul-consciousness space. If it was taken over, it meant one's whole body would be controlled by someone else.

Evan Yang dared not be careless, nor did he want this mysterious figure to control him.

After several rounds, the figure laughed, "It's useless. However strong you are, it's the same. Even though I've been sealed here for years, dealing with a Heavenly-Immortal like you used to take me just a breath. Now it's tougher—I have to spend a lot more effort."

"Stop pretending to be a god or ghost. I'll figure out how to destroy you!" Evan Yang tried to attack, but all his strikes were blocked by the glowing barrier.

"Ridiculous. If your attacks could break through here, I wouldn't have been trapped for years! Kid, just wait. Once we're outside, you won't have it easy!" the figure roared.

"Outside? That's still better than being stuck here forever. I wonder who sealed you in this place—too bad I didn't see it, or I'd have helped out." Evan Yang was disgusted by the figure. If it weren't for his Demon-Ward Eight Arts, he would have lost his consciousness and body to this guy.

"You bastard! I won't let you off. Listen, there are plenty of people outside who I've already controlled. You'd better pray you don't run into them, or you'll die with no burial!" the figure yelled.

Evan Yang couldn't be bothered to argue anymore, but he was really curious about this place—how could such a twisted person be sealed here, someone whose gaze alone could invade a person's soul region?

"Damn it, don't leave! You're going to die horribly!" the voice roared.

"I'd rather die than be trapped in darkness like you forever," Evan Yang replied.

"Hey, kid, if you want to work with me, I guarantee you'll survive!" The voice suddenly turned ghostly as it tried to tempt Evan Yang.

"Can't get me with threats, so now you want to play nice?" Evan Yang muttered to himself.

"So, how about it, kid? You want power and a long life? Just cooperate with me and I'll give you endless strength," the figure tempted.

"Do I look stupid to you? You're shady as hell—who knows what tricks you'll pull next. Bye! Enjoy being trapped here by yourself." Evan Yang tossed out the line and left.

Behind him, the figure's furious roar echoed: "You're dead! Dead! I'll kill you and everyone around you!"

Evan Yang could only ignore him. He was curious about the place, but this creepy figure made him realize he couldn't stay long—any longer and the threat would get even closer.

Evan Yang quickly left the tunnel, heading outward instead of retracing his steps.

As Evan Yang's aura faded into the distance, the figure on the glowing screen sighed, "It's been so many years, and finally a living person came here."

But right after sighing, he turned sinister again. "Kid, don't think you'll live comfortably outside. They won't let you off, ha!"
