Richard came over as well, and Snowbun stood up slightly and said to Evan Yang, "Thank you."
Evan Yang smiled, "It's nothing."
Richard and Lora Luo couldn't understand what Snowbun was saying. When Evan Yang responded, both were startled, staring at him in shock, thinking he'd been possessed.
"What's wrong with you?" Lora Luo asked suspiciously.
"What do you mean what's wrong?" Evan Yang had no idea what Lora Luo was referring to.
Lora Luo frowned, "Who were you just talking to?"
"To her," Evan Yang replied. Suddenly noticing Richard and Lora Luo staring at him, Evan finally remembered: this rabbit demon, now in humanoid form, was speaking in the spirit beast language of her kind. The reason Evan could understand was probably because when Jade Rabbit merged into his body, it left something behind, enabling him to communicate with spirit beasts.
"Are you sure you can talk to her?" Lora Luo frowned.
"I get it now. Looks like I can speak the spirit beast language, but you two can't, so you can't understand her," Evan Yang said.
Lora Luo and Richard were even more astonished, feeling that Evan Yang's ability to understand the spirit beast language was impossible. But Evan just smiled, "Alright, I'll explain this to you some other time. Let me check on her first."
After saying that, Evan Yang picked up Snowbun in his palm. Snowbun gratefully said, "If it weren't for you all, I would've been caught by those nasty snow-eagles."
"I told you, it's nothing. Are you native to this place?" Evan Yang thought of an idea—if an original spirit beast lived here, maybe finding the Nine-Heaven Ice Lotus would be easier.
"Yes, I've lived here all my life," Snowbun replied.
"Besides you, are there any other creatures here?" Evan Yang asked.
Hearing this, Snowbun froze and looked a little sad. Evan Yang asked suspiciously, "What's wrong?"
"I used to live with my kin, but a sudden snow-eagle raid scattered us all. I ended up here without realizing it, surviving only on green grass. As for where this place is or how to go home, I have no memory at all," Snowbun said.
Evan Yang hadn't expected this and felt deeply sympathetic. "How many years have you been separated from your kin? Do you remember the direction you escaped?"
"It's been several hundred years since we got separated. I remember coming out from over there, but there are so many snow-eagles in that area. Every time I try to cross, I run into them and have to retreat and hide," Snowbun said.
After hearing this story, Evan Yang understood the basic situation and said, "Don't worry, we're passing through there too. We'll take you with us."
"Really?" Snowbun exclaimed with joy. For hundreds of years, she'd dreamed of returning to her kin, but every time she tried to sneak across, snow-eagles blocked her way and shattered her hopes.
Evan Yang smiled, "That's right. Let me heal your wounds first, then we'll head out together."
After speaking, Evan Yang released a stream of Heaven-Cold qi from his palm, and Snowbun's wounds gradually recovered under its effect.
Richard and Lora Luo watched from the side. Since Evan Yang spoke with Snowbun earlier, it seemed like they understood something. Only after Evan finished healing Snowbun and explained her situation did they realize they would have to pass through an area inhabited by snow-eagles.
"It could be dangerous ahead, so everyone needs to be careful," Evan Yang said finally.
Richard and Lora Luo nodded, and Evan Yang got up, glanced at Snowbun, and said, "Let's go."
Snowbun was overjoyed, but also curious about Evan Yang—how he could understand her language and why he had such strong healing abilities.
Evan Yang had no idea what she was thinking. At this moment, he brought Jade Rabbit, Richard, and Lora Luo along, moving forward slowly while keeping his divine sense open to monitor the situation ahead.
Arriving at a canyon-like area, Evan Yang and the others saw many caves. According to Snowbun, these were snow-eagle nests. Not only that, Evan also noticed that some caves were larger, and even saw some snow-eagle demons—those that had already become true demons.
"There are a lot of snow-eagles ahead, and that's not counting the fully-formed demons. So I think we should try going underground if possible," Evan Yang said.
Before Richard and Lora Luo could react, Evan was already activating his earth abilities, tunneling through the snow and entering the ground. He brought Richard and Lora Luo along, moving forward together. But something felt off—a short distance in, it seemed as if something was blocking their way.
"Damn it," Evan Yang exclaimed.
"What's wrong?" Richard asked curiously.
"We can't tunnel underground ahead—probably because of the local geology," Evan Yang said, quickly retreating to the surface.
After coming up from underground, Richard and Lora Luo both frowned. If Evan Yang's earth-escape wouldn't work, they'd have to rely on brute force to get through. With so many snow-eagles here, not to mention the demons, even the snow-eagle flock alone was trouble.
"What do we do now?" Lora Luo frowned.
"You two go into my tower first. I'll figure out a way across," Evan Yang said.
"Alright, but be careful," Richard said.
Evan Yang nodded. Before Lora Luo entered the tower, she couldn't help saying, "Be careful." Even she couldn't believe she'd say that to Evan Yang.
Evan Yang was briefly stunned, then smiled helplessly and put them into the tower. Snowbun stayed in his hand.
"You came out from here before?" Evan Yang asked.
"Back then, a snow-eagle grabbed me and flew over this place. Later, somehow the snow-eagle got injured, and I fell into the snow and escaped. Every time I try to go back, there are just so many snow-eagles," Snowbun said.
Evan Yang nodded in understanding and said, "Got it. You go into the tower too." With that, he put Snowbun away.
Evan Yang lingered for a while, then decided to try passing as a snow-eagle. With a twist, he transformed into a snow-eagle and swaggered through the air.
The snow-eagles in the caves ignored their companion.
But halfway through his flight, the snow-eagles frowned, giving Evan Yang strange looks as he flew past.

From their expressions, Evan Yang sensed something was off. He wondered if he should stop, when suddenly a barrier appeared ahead and bounced him back.
Evan Yang steadied himself in midair and stared ahead, realizing there was a barrier in the sky—only the ground below was open. He felt embarrassed, planning to go in from below, when a feathered demon flew out and blocked his path.
Evan Yang could understand but not speak their language. Otherwise, he would have asked what was going on. For now, he kept silent, observing. "Kid, you've got guts. Don't you know what place this is? Flying overhead is an insult to the Eagle‑Idol God!" the snow-eagle demon snapped.
Evan Yang didn't know how to explain, so he just nodded. Seeing him nod and stay silent, the snow-eagle demon snorted, "Think that's enough? No way! Get down and kowtow ten thousand times to the Eagle‑Idol God before you can leave."
Evan Yang was stunned. Eagle‑Idol God? What was that, and why did he have to kowtow ten thousand times? And what did flying overhead have to do with the Eagle‑Idol God?
Seeing Evan Yang still not moving, the snow-eagle demon snapped, "What? Need me to do it myself?"
Evan Yang was frustrated. He had no idea where the Eagle‑Idol God was, or how he was supposed to kowtow. Helpless, he just stared at the snow-eagle until it lost patience, grabbed him, and tossed him down.
Evan Yang crashed down with a thud, but he wasn't hurt at all—he'd prepared for the landing. Still, he pretended to be in pain.
"Start kowtowing!" the snow-eagle demon snorted.
Just as Evan Yang was wondering where to kowtow, he spotted a statue ahead—an eagle with a human body. Judging from what the snow-eagle said, this must be the Eagle‑Idol God.
Evan Yang cursed inwardly, "Damn it, why should I kneel to you?"
Suddenly, a stern voice rang out, "What do you mean by that?"
Evan Yang looked around, not knowing where the voice came from. Shocked, he finally fixed his gaze on the statue.
"At least you’re not stupid—you realized it was me. Alright, you don’t need to kneel. Come here and place your wings in front of my statue," the statue actually sent a spiritual message to Evan Yang, startling him even more.
Faced with such a strange request, Evan Yang slowly walked over. The snow-eagle behind him was shocked and shouted, "What are you doing? What are you doing!"
Suddenly, a faint light flashed around Evan Yang. He didn't know what it was, but the snow-eagles did.
Only those favored by the Eagle‑Idol God could possess this light, and among the snow-eagles, only the most renowned had ever received it. Yet Evan Yang, who wasn't even a true demon yet, was bestowed with the Eagle‑Idol God's favor. Even the snow-eagle behind him, though displeased, could only watch silently.
Other snow-eagles from all around noticed and began to gather, curiously surrounding Evan Yang.
Evan Yang was startled—he had no idea he'd attracted so many snow-eagles. He thought they might attack, but their actions left him confused.
Evan Yang placed his transformed wings on the statue. Instantly, streams of thought flooded his mind. When they faded, he composed himself and realized he'd just learned a flying technique.
If Phantom Steps were great for combat, then this technique from the Eagle‑Idol God was unmatched for pursuit and long-distance flight.
It was called the Meteor Flight Art. Powerful snow-eagles could use their wings and this technique to reach incredible speeds.
According to the technique, it could reach the legendary speed of the Roc. Evan Yang didn't know what a Roc was, but the speed described truly shocked him.
Moreover, when Meteor Flight Art was activated, the user's speed could reach a thousand times normal flight. For winged creatures like snow-eagles, it could be as high as fifteen hundred times.
After reading the description, Evan Yang was stunned. The only drawback was that Meteor Flight Art was so fast it couldn't be used in battle—only for escape, pursuit, or travel.
