The smile on Molly Yun's face faded visibly. "What do you mean?"
"Molly." Adrian spoke softly, "You're too smart to play dumb with me now."
Before Molly Yun could react, Adrian moved even faster and pressed all the car lock buttons. "If you just jump out like that, aren't you afraid of dying?"
Molly Yun stared at Adrian, her gaze fierce. "Why are you doing this?"
"Naturally, it's to make sure I get you out safely." Adrian replied calmly, "As Mrs. Jiang, there's always someone watching you. You never talk about it, but I know there are people secretly protecting you. So, I have no other way but to earn your trust and soften your heart before I can take you away."
"Give me a reason." Molly Yun looked at him seriously. "Who are you really? Are you the High Priest of the Shadow Tribe, or the heir to a Mexican fortune?"
"The reason is simple—I want a child that carries both your genes and mine. As for my identity, both are true." Adrian laughed softly. "With all the mines I own, why would I ever lack money? And for my identity, it's even simpler. A few years ago, I found someone who looked just like me, the heir of a family, but he was sickly and removed from succession. He spent most of his time in a castle, so very few people saw him. It was easy for me to take his place. Pretending to be frail was no challenge for me."
Molly Yun closed her eyes gently and asked, "What's your real name?"
"My name really is Adrian." Adrian answered, "I'm the High Priest of the Shadow Tribe. 'Adrian' is my title and number. Every High Priest is called Adrian—the name is passed down through generations."
"I see." Molly Yun nodded. "I was too confident. I never connected you to the Shadow Tribe. Back then, when I wanted to see your face and you kept avoiding me, that was the reason, wasn't it?"
"Yes." Adrian nodded. "I thought about disguising myself. But with you, any disguise would be exposed sooner or later. So I figured, why let you know what I really look like? When I finally showed up before you, I wanted a completely new identity."
"I was careless." Molly Yun opened her eyes and looked at Adrian. "Thank you for not targeting Xixi."
"You don't need to thank me." Adrian's eyes were still clear and pure, but his words sent a chill through Molly Yun: "Cecilia Gu won't have a third child, but you—you will have many children."
"Adrian, I won't have children with you." Molly Yun said flatly. "Give up on that idea."
Adrian glanced at Molly Yun. "You will agree."
Seizing the moment while Adrian was talking, Molly Yun suddenly lunged at him, trying to grab the steering wheel.
Who would have thought that the sickly-looking Adrian was surprisingly strong.
Adrian quickly struck the back of Molly Yun's neck, and she instantly passed out in his arms.
As Molly Yun lost consciousness, a single thought flashed through her mind: It's over. I didn't have time to warn them.
At this very moment—
Eric Jiang led his men in pursuit, but no matter how hard they searched, Molly Yun was nowhere to be found.
He tried calling her, only to discover her phone was left in her assistant's bag.
In other words, Molly Yun had disappeared!
"What happened? Where is she?" Eric Jiang spun around frantically. "How were you protecting her?"
The group being questioned all hung their heads, not knowing what to say.
One of Eric Jiang's men said, "Call the police! She disappeared just like that—we can't bear this responsibility!"
Reminded by this, Eric Jiang's first thought wasn't to call the police, but to find Max Mo.
Sometimes, the Mo Family's network is incredibly useful.
When Max Mo picked up Eric Jiang’s call, he thought it was just a routine greeting. But as soon as he heard about Molly Yun’s disappearance, he shot to his feet and said, "I’m coming right now! I’ll have all escape routes abroad locked down! By the way, does Cecilia know yet?"
"I haven’t told her yet. I don’t even know how to break the news—I’ve lost her sister!" Eric Jiang was completely dejected. "President Mo, I know this is presumptuous, but I have to ask for your help again. I really can’t lose her!"
Max Mo was silent for three seconds before he slowly said, "Alright."
Cecilia Gu still found out very quickly.
As the young mistress of the Yin Family and its true matriarch, how could anyone possibly keep her in the dark?
When Cecilia Gu heard about Molly Yun’s disappearance, she completely lost control. The coffee cup in her hand crashed to the floor and shattered.
Charles Yin grabbed her. "Xixi, don’t panic. We’ll head over right away! I’ve already coordinated with Max Mo. With our families working together, no one can escape!"
Cecilia Gu was trembling all over. "Who did this? Who?!"
"It was... Adrian." Charles Yin sent a video to Cecilia Gu. "The Su Family saw Molly Yun get into a car with a sickly-looking man of her own accord, and then she vanished. This is the surveillance footage we just got. That man, Adrian, took her away."
"Why?!" Cecilia Gu gasped, suddenly thinking of something. Her eyes widened. "Wait, Adrian likes my sister. Did he kidnap her out of love, because he couldn’t have her?"
"It’s not that simple." Charles Yin was far more thorough in his thinking. "If it was just out of love, why kidnap her? Even if he did, it wouldn’t mean he’d win her over. When I met Adrian last time, I sensed he was a very clever man. Smart people don’t do stupid things. He must have another motive."
Cecilia Gu felt a chill run down her spine. "Another motive? What does he want? What is he planning?!"
"For now, we don’t know. Let’s go." Charles Yin saw A coming in from outside and knew everything was set up. "Let’s go and talk on the way! Luckily, the Su Family’s funeral is nearly over. Tomorrow, we’ll ask them to help search."
"Okay." Tears streamed down Cecilia Gu’s face. "Don’t let Mom and Dad find out. I’m afraid they won’t be able to handle the shock. It wasn’t easy for my sister to come home last time. When I saw how nervous Dad and Mom were, I promised myself I wouldn’t let them worry again!"
"I understand." Charles Yin said quietly. "I’ll keep the news locked down and search in secret! There hasn’t been much time—they couldn’t have gone far. I’ve already got people watching the airports, docks, and train stations. Max Mo’s team is already on the way. With both our teams closing in, there’s no way they’ll get out of the country!"
Cecilia Gu finally regained her composure and nodded firmly. "Let’s go now!"
The next morning, Cecilia Gu and Charles Yin arrived in R City.
As soon as they got off the plane, one of Max Mo’s people came to pick them up. "President Yin, Miss Gu. Max Mo sent me to welcome you and give you an update."
Charles Yin glanced quickly at Cecilia Gu before replying, "Alright."
"Max Mo arrived early this morning. We’ve got people stationed at every airport, train station, bus terminal, and all the main roads. All surveillance is online. Unless the other side’s hacking skills are better than ours, they can’t leave the city." The staff member reported quickly. "Your team arrived at seven this morning and is working with ours. So far, we’re sure the kidnapper hasn’t left town, but the city is huge. With just a few of us searching, it’s going to be tough. We can’t guarantee nothing will happen in the next few days."
"Also, we know nothing about the suspect. We’ve compared him to every known wealthy heir, but there’s no match." The staff member said, "If you or Miss Gu know anything, please share so we can fill in the gaps."
Cecilia Gu said immediately, "He claims he’s from Mexico. His name is Adrian Kim."
The staff member walked quickly ahead, explaining, "We’ve already checked that identity. There’s no criminal record. He’s been in poor health for years and rarely leaves home. He and Mrs. Jiang never knew each other before—there’s no history, no chance of revenge. Mrs. Jiang also never had any contact with foreigners before. Zero connection, zero transactions. Miss Gu, if you have any other information, please let us know."
Cecilia Gu paused, sighed, and said, "Alright, there’s nothing left to hide. He’s secretly in love with Mrs. Jiang, but she’s never responded to him."
"Then, if the suspect kidnapped Mrs. Jiang for love, her life should be safe for now." The staff member opened the car door, invited Charles Yin and Cecilia Gu in, sat opposite them, and continued, "If the suspect doesn’t own property in R City, he’ll be staying at a hotel. We’ve sent people to every hotel to watch for guests resembling Mrs. Jiang. But so far, no news. That means the suspect probably has property or is renting locally. We’ll have to check every possibility."
Cecilia Gu drew a sharp breath. "How long will this take? If he’s determined not to go out, does that mean we’ll never find him?"
"Yes." The staff member hesitated, then nodded. "That’s why Max Mo sent me to ask for more help. He’s already contacted some people, planning to conduct a citywide search in the name of legal education."
Charles Yin responded immediately, "No need to ask—I’ll get my people on it right away. We’ll find her as fast as possible!"
Suddenly, Cecilia Gu grabbed Charles Yin’s arm, trembling. "What if he’s disguised himself? Can your people still recognize him?"
