So Angry He Nearly Fainted

"Elder, I finished refining the Youthful Grace Balm yesterday. Not only did I pack this batch, but I also put the extra into a dozen or so medicine shells and gave them to everyone in the Vermilion Spirit Alliance. I even gave some to the housekeeper lady at our residence," Grace added.

"Please have the Elder verify everyone else's balm. If theirs are all fine, and only Duke Winston Wood's box is tainted, then that's enough to prove he tampered with it!"

As soon as she said this, Winston Wood's face changed slightly.

She actually pulled this trick?

Looks like she really came prepared this time...

Elder Samuel nodded and ordered someone to bring the housekeeper's medicine shell. After a careful inspection, it was clear that this box was perfectly fine.

Everyone in the Vermilion Spirit Alliance who received the gift quickly confirmed that theirs hadn’t spoiled or been contaminated.

"Elder, Grace Zhu must be trying to frame me! Just to clear her own name!" Winston Wood protested. "Please, Alliance Leaders and Elders, look into this carefully!"

"Elder, Alliance Leaders, I can testify." Suddenly, someone stepped forward.

It was none other than Winston Wood’s favorite servant: Henry Chen.

"That's right!" Winston Wood said. "Henry Chen may be my servant, but he's honest and upright. He would never lie!"

"Yes!" Henry Chen replied, with a half-smile. "I always remember the Alliance rules: loyalty, integrity, and compassion! So I would never lie!"

As he spoke, he pointed at Winston Wood and said, "Last night, Vice President Wood asked me to break the wax seal. I saw with my own eyes—he added something to the potion shell!"

As soon as he said this, everyone in the Vermilion Spirit Alliance was stunned.

After everything Grace Zhu did to him, why would he turn around and testify against Winston Wood?

Winston Wood stared at him, in disbelief for a long moment. "Henry Chen! Are you out of your mind?"

"I'm not crazy! I'm just following the Alliance rules!" Henry Chen said righteously, his tone firm. "That thing is still on Vice President Wood. If the Elder searches him, they'll find it!"

"You—" Winston Wood was so angry he nearly fainted.

"Guards! Search him!" Elder Samuel ordered.

Immediately, the guards walked over to Winston Wood, tapped his acupoint, and expertly searched him, finding a small porcelain bottle which they handed to Elder Samuel.

Elder Samuel pulled out the stopper and sniffed it. His face immediately changed, and he threw the bamboo tube at Winston Wood’s head. "What is this?"

It was the breeding solution for Spirit Bugs.

Spirit Bugs are something every Spiritual Alchemist needs to guard against, but they’re also commonly used in various places—everyone here knows them well!

Winston Wood’s face turned ashen. He stared at the letter on the table and suddenly realized, pointing at Henry Chen, "The letter... Did you steal it?"

"Winston Wood! What’s this about the letter?" James Kee demanded sharply. "When did I ever write you a letter like that?"

Winston Wood glanced at him. Clearly, he was about to dump everything onto him!

After his face cycled through several expressions, he finally said, "The letter was forged by me. I just wanted my people to believe me, so they’d join me in accusing Chloe Zhu."

James Kee let out a sigh of relief. "You actually used pills to get back at Chloe Zhu? That’s a matter of life and death! Absolutely unforgivable!"

"I know I was wrong. Elder, Alliance Leaders, please show mercy!" Winston Wood said, kneeling.

At this point, there was nothing left for him to argue.

He could only take all the blame himself.

The Kee Clan was not someone he could afford to offend!
