One Is Not Enough

After Gary Liu finished speaking, everyone’s gaze drifted over the group behind him. Only after a long pause did they look back at Evan Lin’s side.

Their eyes darted back and forth; many people shook their heads and sighed when they heard this.

"That kid’s build probably couldn’t take even one punch from an outer-strength peak fighter," a man said, looking at Evan Lin with pity in his eyes.

"Isn’t this all his own fault? Daring to talk to Gary Liu like that on Miracle Hand Sect turf—he brought this on himself! Besides, Gary Liu already said he’d let him pick an outer-strength peak opponent to fight. That’s better than Gary Liu handling it personally; he’s actually giving the kid some face!" someone else scoffed.

Not a single person around thought Evan Lin had a chance.

An outer-strength peak fighter is already considered a true expert out in the world.

"Master..."

Leo Liu, standing nearby, wore a worried expression. He wasn’t afraid Evan Lin would lose—he was worried that standing firm would bring even more trouble.

"Don’t say anything! Let him fend for himself! Our Liu family has no reason to offend Miracle Hand Sect over some kid whose background we don’t even know!"

Byron Liu saw Leo Liu about to step forward and yanked him back, gripping his wrist tightly and refusing to let him get anywhere near Evan Lin.

"It’s fine," Evan Lin replied.

Evan Lin nodded slightly at Leo Liu, reassuring him.

"Fine? Well, pick one then! I, Gary Liu, keep my word—just choose one, and if you win, I won’t bother you anymore today. Otherwise..."

Gary Liu let out a cold laugh, leaving the rest unsaid, but the vicious look on his face gave away his intentions.

"There are eleven in total."

Evan Lin swept his gaze over them and spoke indifferently.

"Right, eleven to choose from. Go ahead, don’t waste time," Gary Liu nodded.

Leo Liu suddenly started laughing, "If you’re scared, you can just crawl between my legs. I’ll let the past go—how about it?"

Ivy Liang originally wanted to speak up for Evan Lin, but seeing how stubborn he was, she gave up in frustration, turning her head away and refusing to watch.

"Just one? That’s way too boring. How about all eleven at once?" Evan Lin shook his head and spoke up.

"All eleven at once?" Gary Liu acted like he’d just heard the world’s funniest joke. "One of them alone could beat you to death, and you want all eleven to gang up on you?"

"Has this guy lost his mind from the shock?" The people around were stunned by what they heard.

"I think he figures that if he’s going to get beaten to death anyway, it’ll at least look more epic if eleven people do it instead of just one," someone else guessed.

"Don’t worry, if I win, I won’t hit you. I’ll just have you crawl under my legs, that’s all," Evan Lin said calmly, staring at Gary Liu, who was laughing out loud.

Gary Liu’s smile froze instantly, then turned vicious. "I was going to let you live like a dog, but now it looks like you’re just asking to die!"

"Fine! I’ll agree to your terms. If you can beat all eleven of these outer-strength peak fighters, I, Gary Liu, will crawl under you in front of everyone!"

Gary Liu’s face was ice-cold. As a second-grade Little Doctor of the Miracle Hand Sect, no one had ever dared speak to him like this before!

"You guys, make sure to give him a warm welcome. Just beat him—if he dies, I’ll take responsibility!"

Gary Liu spat out his threat.

"Just wait to die!"

Leo Liu was fuming from Evan Lin’s last remark.

He pulled Ivy Liang back a few steps, melting into the crowd.

Ivy Liang sighed, knowing she couldn’t stop any of this. She also felt a bit annoyed at Evan Lin, thinking he was just too arrogant and self-important.

She didn’t really understand what ‘outer-strength peak’ meant, but just looking at those eleven men and the pressure they gave off was enough to make anyone afraid.

"Even one-on-one, you might not survive, and now you want to go one-on-eleven? Do you just love showing off? Is this why girls like Lynn Chen and Selina Wu look at you differently?"

Ivy Liang couldn’t help but recall Lynn Chen’s strange attitude toward Evan Lin at school, and the way Selina Wu looked at him on stage during the Peiying High gala.

They were all outstanding girls, yet for some reason, they saw something special in this arrogant guy.

The eleven men quickly stepped forward. Gary Liu stood with his hands behind his back, completely unconcerned.

Killing someone in Hillview Gully was a trivial matter—especially when this punk dared to say those things, clearly not taking him, a Little Doctor, seriously at all.

Evan Lin stood where he was, backpack slung over his shoulder, facing the eleven men as they cracked their knuckles and got ready.

"All of you, come at me together."

Evan Lin spoke again.

As soon as he finished, the men’s faces twisted with anger and they charged straight at Evan Lin.

"You little punk, someone like you—I could kill with a slap! And you actually want to take on all eleven of us? Are you looking down on us?"

The leader’s muscles bulged as he roared like a wild beast, swinging a huge palm right at Evan Lin’s face.

In everyone’s eyes, the teenager stood motionless, his expression calm and unruffled.

But just as the first man rushed up and got close, when everyone thought the teen would be slapped to the ground, he suddenly stepped forward with his left foot and calmly walked up, then slammed his shoulder into the man.

With a thunderous boom, the beast-like man screamed in pain and was sent flying.

"Holy crap! What just happened?!"

Everyone watching was utterly shocked by the scene.

Byron Liu, who had looked down on Evan Lin before, now gaped in shock and rubbed his eyes, thinking he must be seeing things.

Sijia Can and June Chen turned pale—the dull thud of impact had truly frightened them.

"He sent that guy flying! And that was an outer-strength peak fighter!"

Someone in the crowd cried out in alarm.

"Could it be that this kid is actually an inner-strength expert?"

Others quickly caught on, realizing what was happening.

Only an inner-strength expert could unleash such power in an instant and take on an outer-strength peak fighter head-on!

"Kill him!"

Realizing things had gone wrong, Gary Liu’s eyes bulged with rage as he shouted.

Leo Liu’s body trembled, suddenly feeling uneasy, while Ivy Liang was left frozen in place, staring at Evan Lin in confusion.

"Finish him off!"

The remaining ten, who had planned to hold back and watch the show, realized things were serious. At Gary Liu’s shout, their faces hardened, each one roaring in anger as their muscles swelled and their aura grew even fiercer.

Then, ten outer-strength peak fighters charged at Evan Lin like a fleet of tanks.

Their feet thundered against the ground, kicking up clouds of dust.

Evan Lin’s eyes flashed, his expression calm. With a single step, his figure blurred as he instantly rushed to meet all ten head-on.
