Iron Mouth and Copper Teeth, Subduing the Century-Old Corpse King

1/5/2026

At this moment, not just the people nearby—even the Red-Fur Corpse King was a bit surprised, pausing for a split second. But he quickly decided Ryan Ling was openly provoking him. Now that he'd fully evolved into a powerful Red-Fur Corpse King, how dare Ryan show such "disrespect"? The zombie instantly let out a furious roar.

In that instant, Ryan felt like his soul was about to fly out of his body.

As soon as the zombie finished roaring, it lunged straight at Ryan.

Everyone else couldn’t bear to watch—a legendary master was about to get torn to shreds.

According to the rumors, nobody had ever survived such a savage strike from the Red-Fur Corpse King.

"Dad, I’m about to come see you early!" Ryan was so scared he couldn’t move a muscle.

Just then, the System suddenly yelled: "Hurry up and eat the Zombie Mud, and explain yourself! He thinks you’re here to wipe him out!"

Zombie Mud?

How could Ryan forget something so crucial at a time like this?

Without wasting a second, Ryan whipped out the Zombie Mud and gulped it down, then shouted, "Wait! I’m not here to destroy you—I’m here to recruit you as an employee for the Underworld!"

As soon as he said that, the Red-Fur Corpse King clearly understood. His fist, which was about to touch Ryan’s nose, suddenly stopped. He stared at Ryan in utter disbelief—a human could actually speak zombie language?

Ryan was so scared he nearly peed himself, but when he saw the Red-Fur Corpse King freeze, he instantly realized the zombie must've understood him.

He quickly shouted again, "Big Bro Zombie, I swear I’m genuinely here to recruit you for the Underworld! I’m not a bad guy—I'm the actual son of the King of Hell! You saw it yourself, I’ve been standing here without moving, didn’t hurt you at all, so you’ve gotta trust me!"

While talking, Ryan hurriedly handed over the Underworld Staff Employment Form again, this time with extra respect.

The Red-Fur Corpse King’s eyes went wide, and everyone else around was staring too.

People glanced at each other, totally baffled.

Obviously, nobody could understand a word Ryan was saying, so everyone automatically turned to Warren Yuan.

Warren Yuan froze—he didn’t understand either, but there was no way he’d lose face now. So he quickly cleared his throat and said, "Not gonna lie, folks, that’s the most powerful corpse-subduing divine mantra from ancient times. You guys actually dared to underestimate Master Ling just now. See his true power now?"

"We get it now—this is really eye-opening. Master Ling is the real deal! He stayed still the whole time because he had it all under control. Awesome!" Gus Ge, the boss nearby, was full of admiration.

"Of course! He’s a true master, way above fighting with us small fry. Did you all see that?" Warren Yuan snorted, feeling totally superior now that he was Master Ling’s lackey.

"That’s right! Just waved a piece of paper and said a couple words, and he tamed the Red-Fur Corpse King—he’s basically a grandmaster! Hey, Warren, does Master Ling take disciples?" Hank Hong piped up, and Kenny Jin looked just as eager.

"Are you kidding? A master like him wouldn’t waste time on mediocre students like you! Don’t even think about it!" Warren Yuan immediately shot them down, secretly fuming: I’m not even his disciple yet, and you guys want to steal my spot? Dream on!

Of course, Ryan had no idea what these guys were saying—his entire focus was on the Red-Fur Corpse King.

Until the zombie responded, Ryan was more nervous than anyone.

Zombies aren’t exactly known for being reasonable, and this Red-Fur Corpse King was especially wild and murderous—who knew if he’d suddenly go berserk and attack again?

Just when Ryan was at peak anxiety, the Red-Fur Corpse King suddenly spoke: "The King of Hell’s son? Joining the Underworld? Why should I trust you? None of you officials are any good. My wife and daughter died with no justice, and not only was I beaten to death, now I’m stuck like this—neither human nor ghost. Why is heaven so unfair to me?"

The Red-Fur Corpse King finished and let out a howl at the sky.

Everyone nearby scrambled to get out of the way, but Ryan actually felt half-relieved. He hurried forward to comfort him: "Big Bro Zombie, don’t worry. I don’t care what anyone else does, but since I ran into this, I’ll see it through. My old man told me to build a Hell Court in the human world just to clear up injustices and stand up for regular people. If you’ve got grievances, just tell me—I swear I’ll help you!"

As soon as he finished, Ryan raised three fingers in oath.

Hearing this, the Red-Fur Corpse King was visibly moved, his emotions less wild than before. He stammered, "You—you really mean it?"

"Of course I mean it! If I can’t help you, may heavenly lightning strike me down!" Ryan thumped his chest, sounding righteous and resolute.

He knew perfectly well that if he didn’t say this, the wild Red-Fur Corpse King would never trust him, let alone join his future Hell Court. Seeing how powerful this zombie was, Ryan seriously wanted him as a bodyguard—he was desperate for muscle right now.

When Ryan said that, the Red-Fur Corpse King shuddered all over. Suddenly, he dropped to his knees right in front of Ryan.

"My lord, if you really can help me get justice, I’ll follow you anywhere, go through fire and water, no complaints!"

Everyone was stunned to see a zombie kneel. Their eyes nearly popped out—Master Ling’s heroic image was now burned into their minds forever.

Hank Hong and Kenny Jin, already dying to be disciples, were now hell-bent on joining Ryan’s school.

Even Gus Ge, usually the calmest, couldn’t help himself—he wanted to ask if there was still a spot for him.

Ryan’s move had completely shocked everyone present.

But for Ryan, showing off was secondary—the real mission was helping the Red-Fur Corpse King clear his grievance and punishing the true culprit.

Kneeling on the ground, the Red-Fur Corpse King tearfully poured out his grievance.

Turns out, his real name was Frank Qin—a construction worker here, honest and law-abiding, never broke the law. His wife was quite pretty, and folks said Frank was a lucky fool. But earlier this year, she brought their five-year-old daughter to the site, right when the real estate company’s boss came to inspect. That lecherous boss immediately set his sights on her.

That night, the foreman and team leader tricked his wife outside. But she was tough—the boss couldn’t overpower her, and in the end she grabbed some scissors and stabbed him in the throat.

Frank’s wife died an innocent death. As a man of honor, Frank fought back, but he was outnumbered—they beat him to death with fists and boots. His poor daughter, just five, cried out, "Don’t hurt my daddy!" The boss kicked her straight into a running concrete mixer, killing her on the spot.

Frank couldn’t swallow the injustice. Buried outside the construction site, his resentment turned him into a zombie, and he launched a wild revenge spree—almost everyone involved was killed, except the boss, who always managed to slip away.

"Unforgivable!" Ryan thought of that poor five-year-old girl, his face turning green with rage. He couldn’t believe evil like this existed—if that bastard boss didn’t die, what justice was left in the world?

"My lord, Frank Qin is truly innocent..." Frank sobbed, his tears running blood-red.

"Get up—I promise I’ll help you. Now tell me that boss’s name and I’ll find him for you," Ryan said through gritted teeth.

"His name is Leo Liao, general manager of Yuanhua Real Estate..." Frank said. Ryan immediately whipped out the Book of Life and Death and wrote down Liao’s name. Instantly, all his crimes popped up—Ryan clenched his teeth, and even the Book seemed to tremble with rage. In a flash, it showed Liao’s current location.

The reason Frank could never find Leo Liao? The guy was hiding out on a little island in the middle of East Lake downtown. He clearly knew who the zombie was and didn’t dare show his face.

"Thank you, my lord! I’ll remember your kindness forever!" Frank gritted his teeth, his killing intent soaring—his eyes were red before, but now his whole body was nearly crimson. Yet toward Ryan, he showed nothing but awe and respect.

"Come with me—I’ll take you there." Ryan said, and Frank obediently followed, walking out of the construction site.

No one else dared get close, let alone tag along. Watching Ryan’s moves, everyone felt he was basically a living god now...
