Spiritual Qi

Having just been held around the waist by Evan Lin, Lily Zhong still felt a bit strange.

But compared to that, it was Evan Lin’s decisive moves that surprised Lily Zhong even more.

“Who did you learn your skills from? Evan Lin, just how good are you at fighting?”

After entering the apartment complex and going upstairs, only Evan Lin and Lily Zhong were in the stairwell.

Lily Zhong looked up at Evan Lin’s back as he walked ahead, her beautiful eyes full of curiosity.

She knew Evan Lin had learned martial arts, which was why he kicked Jack Zhang down the stairs yesterday.

But Lily Zhong never expected Evan Lin to be this strong.

Especially when facing five people—five thugs at that—he didn’t show a hint of fear. Among their peers, that was truly one of a kind.

“I learned from a beautiful master. As for me, I’m just really good at fighting.” Evan Lin went upstairs and stood at Lily Zhong’s door, waiting for her to open it.

“Beautiful master? How beautiful? Is she prettier than me?” Lily Zhong took out her keys, instantly catching onto the word ‘beautiful.’

She slid the key into the lock, turned to look at Evan Lin, not opening the door yet, her eyes full of curiosity.

Images of Lily Zhao in her light blue robe and gauzy veils, traversing the ninety provinces with her sword and annihilating Xuan’e Mountain single-handedly, flashed through Evan Lin’s mind.

Especially Lily Zhao’s cold, deep eyes—so pure, like a still pool. Evan Lin couldn’t help but space out.

“Hey?” Lily Zhong saw Evan Lin zoning out and waved her hand in front of his face.

“Uh, you’re both beautiful. Just different types of beautiful.”

Evan Lin quickly explained, “My master is the cold, icy-water type of beautiful. You, teacher, are more like a warm spring—soft and gentle.”

Hearing Evan Lin’s words, Lily Zhong couldn’t help but roll her eyes at him. “You sure know how to talk. Calling me a warm spring? What’s so spring-like about me?”

Lily Zhong opened the door, unable to resist teasing him.

Evan Lin followed her inside.

“Go sit down for a bit. It’s way too hot today—I need to shower first.”

There’s fruit on the table. Wash it and eat if you want. After you’re done, review the key points I taught you yesterday.

After saying this, Lily Zhong went to her room, grabbed some clothes, and then went into the bathroom.

It was a two-bedroom, one-living room, one-bathroom apartment, and the bathroom wasn’t in the master bedroom but outside.

She put her clothes aside to keep them from getting wet.

Standing in front of the mirror, Lily Zhong carefully examined herself.

She’d kept her virginity for over twenty years, and her figure was exceptional.

With looks like hers, she could easily be a model.

Back in school, magazines approached Lily Zhong to be a print model and shoot some ads, but she politely refused them all. One ad agency still occasionally tries to recruit her.

After showering, Lily Zhong dried off and changed into a new set of clothes.

After changing, she put on a bathrobe over her clothes and stood in front of the mirror for a long time, making sure nothing would show.

After tossing her dirty clothes into the washing machine, Lily Zhong gripped the bathroom door handle, took a deep breath, and opened the door.

Did you go over the key points I told you to review? I’m going to check later, so if you can’t answer, don’t blame me for being strict…

Lily Zhong spoke as she walked out of the bathroom, trying to ease the awkwardness that was about to come.

But when Lily Zhong stepped out, seeing the scene before her, her mind blanked out for a moment: "Strict with you…"

She still finished her sentence, but looking at Evan Lin in the living room, her composure collapsed in an instant, her heart pounding wildly.

What… are you doing?

Looking at Evan Lin, folding her clothes neatly, Lily Zhong’s voice trembled slightly.

"Oh, I saw a bunch of clothes on the sofa, so I thought I’d tidy them up." Evan Lin turned and saw Lily Zhong in her bathrobe, his eyes lighting up.

She really is the biology teacher, Lily Zhong.

Evan Lin secretly praised her in his heart.

Back in school, lots of boys praised Ms. Zhong’s figure, but none of them ever got lucky—all they could do was talk.

Who would’ve thought I’d actually get to see it? This must be the closest anyone at school has ever gotten to watching the goddess teacher." Evan Lin thought mischievously, his gaze roaming over Lily Zhong.

What’s that…?

Evan Lin’s pupils flickered as he focused intently on Lily Zhong.

Right there—there’s a qi fluctuation!

He saw mist-like wisps slowly drifting from Lily Zhong’s upper body down toward her collarbone.

The qi didn’t look very dense.

But why?

Evan Lin was puzzled. On the Immortal Martial Continent, qi spread everywhere. When the density reached a certain point, it would turn into liquid—spirit water. Spirit water could gather into spirit springs, and at even higher densities, qi could crystallize into spirit crystals.

Those things shouldn’t exist in this world—unless there are hidden holy lands Evan Lin hasn’t discovered yet.

Besides that, only heavenly materials, earth treasures, or spirit beasts could contain qi.

Spirit beast?

The idea flashed through Evan Lin’s mind. Some spirit beasts could take human form.

But that’s impossible—this is Earth. If Lily Zhong really were a spirit beast, I’d be able to tell.

If that’s not possible, then what else could it be?

Evan Lin’s mind raced, but after a long while, he still couldn’t figure it out.

Lily Zhong noticed Evan Lin staring at her without blinking. She felt a little flustered, but since she wasn’t actually exposed, she relaxed.

Strangely, she didn’t feel any disgust at all.

"Hey, have you looked enough?" Lily Zhong tried hard to keep her voice steady, making it sound as normal as possible.

"Not yet," Evan Lin replied instinctively.

Lily Zhong wanted to bury herself in a block of tofu—what kind of student says that!

She was already getting a little angry inside.

She walked over to Evan Lin, her hair still damp, a faint fragrance drifting toward him as she moved.

Evan Lin snapped out of it, noticing Lily Zhong’s shy and annoyed expression. He found it interesting.

It was the first time Evan Lin had seen Lily Zhong like this. If the other boys at school knew, they’d be insanely jealous.
