Guest Always Comes Restaurant
Grace reached out and touched it, giving it a gentle squeeze. "Wow, it's so soft! Aren't these usually hard as a rock?"
"Your skin is so delicate. I used my wood element technique to make it softer just for you."
"Alright, help me with this then..." Grace turned around, letting him tie the ribbon for her.
...
Outside the carriage, Leon Zane had started eavesdropping at some point.
The more he listened, the redder his face became.
Those two shameless people—doing that right in the carriage!
Talking about delicate skin and liking it soft...
So wicked, so shameless!
"Leon, what's wrong with you?" Bianca Whitefan noticed something was off about him.
"It's nothing, really!" Leon Zane quickly pulled her farther away, worried the wickedness might rub off on his pure and innocent cousin.
...
On the night of the Lantern Festival, the moon was bright, the lanterns were glowing, and the air was warm.
Four masked figures wandered the Lantern Market together.
Two of the shorter ones walked arm in arm, chirping excitedly like little sparrows as they touched this and peeked at that.
The other two, both tall, each carried eight or ten beautiful lanterns in their hands, along with bags big and small, trailing behind step by step.
"What exactly are we here for today?" one of the tall masked figures complained. "Are we just their porters?"
"As long as they're happy, that's all that matters," the other replied calmly.
"Well, I'm not happy!" Leon Zane grumbled, clearly annoyed. "I could be lying at home, eating something tasty and taking a nap. Wouldn't that be perfect?"
Evan Xiao glanced at him, "Those who lie around eating and napping all day just end up getting killed and eaten themselves."
Leon Zane gritted his teeth. "...You’ve picked up her bad habits too!"
Evan Xiao didn’t reply. Suddenly, he strode forward and tugged Grace along.
"Hmm? What is it?" Grace asked.
"Over there." Evan Xiao nodded in that direction.
Grace looked over—and spotted her dad.
He and Jason Zhuo were lingering in front of a jewelry stall.
The things sold on the street weren’t really valuable, just little trinkets for ordinary folks.
Her dad picked up a wooden hairpin, inspected it from all sides, then seemed to ask Jason Zhuo for his opinion. Jason smiled and nodded, so her dad bought the hairpin and tucked it into his coat.
From the look on his face, Grace knew it was definitely for her mom.
Seeing him heading their way, Grace quickly grabbed Evan Xiao and ran.
She definitely didn’t want to get dragged home so early.
After all that running, Leon Zane was wobbling with seven or eight lanterns in his arms—he was not happy about it.
He flat-out refused to keep shopping.
So Grace suggested they find a restaurant and get something good to eat.
Leon Zane’s eyes lit up and he immediately chimed in, "Hey! Hey! I know a place! It's super tasty, really delicious!"
"Which place?"
"It’s not far from here!" Leon Zane said.
"Let’s go, let’s go!" Grace was getting hungry just listening to him.
So the group headed to a restaurant called 'Regulars' Tavern.'
Their attendants took care of moving the carriage and horses from the parking area.
It was a cozy two-story building with great atmosphere—brightly lit, packed with people, and clearly doing excellent business.
"You two go book a private room. The General and I have our hands full, so we’ll wait for the carriage and put the stuff away before coming in."
Grace nodded and went with Bianca Whitefan to the counter to ask for a private room.
The manager smiled warmly, "Normally we don’t have any private rooms left, but one just opened up. The price is a bit steep—the room fee alone is ten taels of silver."
"That expensive?" Grace frowned.
