Sean Shaw, Come Help
"Ah!" A nearby demon beast cried out in agony as a Divine Race warrior chopped off its head.
Lucia Lu scrambled to her feet, grabbed Entwined Heart, and began to play.
Ancient melodies transformed into invisible arrows, striking the Divine Race warriors and the primordial beast attacking Baxa.
They tried to dodge, but there was nowhere to escape.
At the same time, Ian Yan launched his own attack—a thick, shadowy mist of underworld energy wrapped around them, draining their life force.
Adrian Drake wielded his sword against three foes at once, clutching a Messenger Charm in his other hand. "Sean Shaw! Get over here and help! We've been ambushed! Damn it!"
......
By the time Sean Shaw arrived with reinforcements, the battle was already over.
The attackers seemed to have used some kind of Divine Artifact—the moment they struck, they vanished without a trace.
The demon soldiers suffered heavy casualties.
Serena Tang had been taken.
Lucia Lu stared at the blood and mangled bodies all around her, her expression pained to the extreme.
Sean Shaw glanced at her, then walked up to Baxa and asked, "Baxa?"
Baxa still radiated killing intent, glaring at him with undisguised hostility.
"I'm Sean Shaw," he said. "We had no idea about the ambush."
"So what?"
"But they might have tracked us here." Sean Shaw bowed to Baxa. "We failed to notice. I apologize."
The hostility in Baxa's eyes shifted to shock.
Those lofty Divine Race gods always treated them like cattle, only ever oppressing and enslaving them.
But this man actually apologized to him.
He was still the Divine Heir.
Baxa studied him for a long moment, then took a deep breath and said, "Fifth Highness, let's go inside and talk in detail."
Sean Shaw nodded, exchanged a glance with Adrian Drake, then went to pull Lucia Lu along and entered the room.
Adrian Drake stood guard at the door, keeping a wary eye on the surroundings.
"Baxa..." Inside the room, Lucia Lu frowned and said, "I have no idea how they managed to follow us. We truly didn’t mean for this to happen."
"If you’d meant to betray us, we’d all be wiped out by now," Baxa replied. "What’s done is done, Divine Maiden. Don’t blame yourself."
Sean Shaw said, "Baxa, I want to hear your reasons for attacking the Southern Xuan Kingdom."
...
After a lengthy discussion, Baxa led his妖 soldiers out of the Celestial Sanctuary.
Sean and the others remained behind for the time being.
"This Sanctuary stayed hidden for ages, but the moment we arrived, it was exposed," Lucia Lu said. "Someone among us must have been marked with a Tracking Rune or something similar."
Adrian Drake and Ian Yan shuddered, casting spells to inspect their bodies, but found nothing unusual.
Sean Shaw and his companions tried as well, but saw no trace of any rune on themselves.
Even Sean’s spirit fish wasn’t much help in this area—completely useless.
"I suggest you all go to the Sigil Sect and have a Rune Master open their Heaven’s Eye to check," said Harvey Quinn, who had come with Sean. "If there isn’t a mark, great. If there is, then we’ve all been under someone’s surveillance—scary stuff!"
Sean Shaw nodded and looked at Lucia Lu. "The Sigil Sect isn’t far from here. The three of you should go and have them take a look."
Lucia Lu nodded. "What about you guys? Are you coming too?"
Sean’s expression turned icy. "The Void‑ripping iron chain is the Thunder‑Heaven Void‑Breaking Chain, and the Vajra Shackles belong to Gideon Xuanchen, patriarch of the Xuanchen Clan. I’m going to confront them!"
"Be careful," Lucia Lu blurted out.
Gideon Xuanchen is the Celestial Empress’s maternal grandfather.
Sean Shaw nodded.
The group left the Sanctuary and split up.
Sean Shaw took Ryan Lu and Harvey Quinn to the Xuanchen Clan, while Lucia Lu, Ian Yan, and Adrian Drake headed straight for the Sigil Sect.
