None of the women understood why Evan Chu had suddenly changed his mind. They all looked at him suspiciously, hoping for an explanation. Joan He was especially confused—why wouldn’t the Sect Master go investigate? With his current power, wiping out the dark organization should be easy, right?
"Why are you all staring at me? I said I'm not going, so I'm not going. Sean Xiao is a Venerable Martial Fourth-Layer powerhouse—he could wipe out the entire Frostbane Sect with a single move. With him there, that’s more than enough. I don’t have time to watch him kill people. Everyone, go get ready. Tomorrow morning, we set out directly." Evan Chu said.
None of the women said anything. They knew that once Evan Chu made up his mind, he wouldn’t change it. So they obediently went back. Evan, meanwhile, headed to Sacred Sword Sect with Joan He. Although he trusted Sean Xiao, the dark organization was founded by Venerable Solus. If they ran into Solus, Evan would have to make sure Sean left quickly.
Right now, Sean Xiao’s status at Sacred Sword Sect was like a retired emperor. Even the Sacred Sword Sect Master had to bow and scrape before him. Both his identity and strength made everyone at Sacred Sword Sect genuinely respect him. He lived alone in a separate courtyard, without even a single servant.
Evan Chu and Joan He went straight to his courtyard. Evan’s status was just as special, so no one at Sacred Sword Sect dared stop him. Sean Xiao had said that nobody was allowed to disturb him without permission, but Evan was the one exception.
"Sean Xiao, you’re living pretty well here, huh? So carefree and comfortable—and you even made me come all the way over myself. Don’t you know how busy I am? If you pull this again, I’ll beat you up." Evan Chu said as soon as he entered, not even bothering to look for Sean’s whereabouts.
Joan He followed Evan in without saying a word. Just then, Sean Xiao’s voice came from inside the house: "I just wanted you to come over for a drink! And honestly, the wine these guys found is really good. You were the first person I thought of—see, I’m not stingy! But you show up threatening to beat me before you even walk in—how’s that fair?"
Sean Xiao came out of the house, holding a wine jug and taking big gulps, looking totally content. Evan Chu’s face darkened as he snapped, "I don’t have time to drink with you. Didn’t you say you’d found traces of the dark organization? That’s why I came."
"I knew you’d come for that. Since you’re here, I’ll tell you the truth—there’s no sign of the dark organization. I just wanted you to come drink with me. This wine is way better than anything in the Netherworld. Don’t believe me? Try it!" Sean Xiao laughed.
"You bastard! My time is precious, and you tricked me—looks like you’re itching for a beating! Sean Xiao, I only came here to tell you one thing: the dark organization was founded by Venerable Solus. If you really do find it, be careful. Solus’s power might be more than even I can handle. If things go south, you know what to do."
"I have to make a trip back to the Heavenly Dragon Empire. If you do find anything, the best move is to hold your position and wait for me to return—don’t treat this as a minor issue. If you provoke Venerable Solus, he could wipe out every sect in the Azure Tide Ruins." Evan Chu said seriously.
Sean Xiao frowned slightly, glanced at Joan He behind Evan, and asked, "Is he telling the truth? Is Venerable Solus really that terrifying?"
Joan He simply nodded. Evan Chu turned to leave, saying as he went, "Believe it or not, it’s up to you. Just don’t let me come back from the Heavenly Dragon Empire and find you’ve already been killed by Venerable Solus."
After Evan left, Sean Xiao just laughed. "You really think I’m an idiot? If he’s that strong, why would I mess with him? Drinking and feasting here every day is way more fun—why bother fighting and killing? I’m a good man!" With that, he kept drinking and slowly headed back inside.
When Evan Chu got back, he gave the women a quick rundown about the dark organization so they wouldn’t worry. On hearing that Sean Xiao had tricked Evan into coming over, everyone was speechless. But Joan He added, the dark organization is real—their base is probably at Cloudcrest Mountain. The place is so mysterious that lots of people who go in never come back, so nobody dares approach recklessly.
"Alright, I get it. Once I leave, you’ll handle all sect affairs. As for the dark organization, I think it’s best not to interfere for now—wait until I’m back." Evan Chu told Joan He.
With everything arranged, it was finally time to set out. Early the next morning, Evan Chu got up—after more than two years, he could finally feel the difference between day and night again, and it felt strangely unique. Before long, the women all came out, each one dressed to the nines, dazzling Evan as soon as he saw them.
"Are you all going matchmaking or something? Why get so dolled up—worried people won’t know you’re my women?" Evan Chu joked.
"Enough nonsense, let’s go! I want to see what your other women are like, since you can’t stop thinking about them." Selena Yale said.
"Is the Heavenly Fragrance Pavilion’s teleportation array destroyed yet?" Evan Chu asked.
"There’s a teleportation array in the corner of Frostbane Sect’s training grounds that leads straight to Monster Beast Forest. We had it specially built, and it goes directly to Heaven Ape’s Western Beast King Hall," Selena Yale said.
"Let’s go check out this array and see how it works," Evan Chu laughed, and led the women to the teleportation platform.
After inspecting the array, Evan Chu said, "Looks like it can send a dozen people at once—not bad. Everyone, get in!"
In just a few breaths, everyone appeared at the entrance to the Western Beast King Hall’s teleportation platform. The monster beasts guarding the array sensed the energy and immediately surrounded it. But when they saw Evan Chu and the others, their faces were full of shock.
Plenty of people at the Western Beast King Hall recognized Evan Chu. Last time, someone who didn’t know him got beaten half to death, so Heaven Ape had someone paint Evan’s portrait and made sure every monster beast memorized his face to avoid any more mistakes.
One of the monster beasts dashed off toward the main hall, obviously to deliver the news. The rest respectfully greeted Evan Chu: "Greetings, Young Master Chu!"
Evan Chu felt a little awkward and waved his hand. "You can all go. I’ll take a walk myself. Heaven Ape really did a great job with the defenses here."
Evan Chu and the women strolled toward the main hall. Soon, they saw a group of people rushing over, arriving in front of them in the blink of an eye.
Among the newcomers were Heaven Ape and the elders and Protectors of the Western Beast King Hall. Evan Chu also spotted Savage Earth Dragon and Goldwing—both called out, "Boss!" as soon as they saw him.
