Traveling Together, Remember My Name

If it's fate, you can't escape it; if it's trouble, you can't avoid it. No matter how worried his guards were, once Simon Sun got involved in this, shaking it off wouldn't be so easy.

The young lady’s maids and guards tried to push Simon Sun away—after all, he was so young, it was hard to believe he was a skilled doctor. But the old man's face grew increasingly ashen, as if he could barely breathe.

"Doctor, please help my father." The 'Doctor Bai' the young lady called for hadn't arrived yet, so with no other choice, she decided to let Simon Sun try—better to do something than nothing.

"Don't worry, miss." Simon Sun didn't even look at the young lady, instinctively offering reassurance. He stepped forward, loosened the old man's clothing, and helped him breathe more easily.

Seeing this, the young lady reached out to help, but Simon Sun shooed her away. Her hand froze midair; seeing his serious expression, she held back.

If anything happened to her father, then... A flash of killing intent passed through the young lady’s eyes but quickly vanished. Simon Sun, focused entirely on saving the patient, didn’t notice, but his guards were on high alert, protecting him so tightly that not even a drop of water could get through, terrified something might happen to him.

They knew full well: Young Master Sun was Miss Feng’s very eyeballs. If anything happened to Simon Sun, their lives would be forfeit.

And yet, at this very moment, Simon Sun even asked his guards to fetch his medicine chest. The guards were nearly in tears: Young Master Sun, you’re too kindhearted—can’t you see they’re guarding against you like you’re a thief?

"Quick, go get my medicine chest." When it came to saving lives, Simon Sun was like a different person—no longer soft or hesitant, but decisive and commanding, so much so that no one dared defy his orders. The guards had no choice but to turn back and fetch his medicine chest.

"Help me out here—move the patient to a chair." After checking the pulse, Simon Sun quickly diagnosed the old man's illness: exactly what his master had described before—an acute myocardial infarction with signs of shock. Luckily, help arrived in time.

The young lady was stunned for a moment, then immediately did as Simon Sun said. Simon was anything but polite—when he gave orders, it was as if it was the most natural thing in the world. The young lady, shocked at first, soon got used to it.

That’s the thing about habits—they’re terrifying.

The guards, anxious for Simon Sun’s safety, rushed over with the medicine chest. At that moment, the Doctor Bai the young lady had called for also arrived—a white-bearded old man with a face full of compassion, perfectly fitting the image of a legendary healer.

"Doctor Bai, you’re finally here, Master..." The young lady’s chief maid pulled Doctor Bai forward, but he stopped her. The maid, anxious, said, "Doctor Bai, what’s wrong? Master is waiting for you!"

"Let that young man take a look. He’s no ordinary person." Doctor Bai saw Simon Sun open his medicine chest; he only recognized about half the items inside.

After a lifetime of practicing medicine, Doctor Bai had seen much. Most things he didn’t recognize, but those three golden needles—he definitely did. They belonged to Dr. Redwater, the legendary healer.

Who was this young man? He’d never heard of Dr. Redwater taking on a disciple.

Even if this youth wasn’t Dr. Redwater’s apprentice, he was clearly closely connected to him. Realizing this, Doctor Bai’s attitude toward Simon Sun changed immediately.

When he saw Simon Sun use a few white pills and those three golden needles to wake the old man, Doctor Bai’s gaze became even more fervent.

Amazing! No wonder he’s someone who can associate with Dr. Redwater.

Simon Sun noticed nothing—he kept his attention on the old man’s expression. Only when the old man slowly came to did Simon finally breathe a sigh of relief: "Pour a cup of warm water for the gentleman, just plain water."

"Yes, sir." The old man’s maid quickly responded, her wary gaze toward Simon Sun shifting to admiration.

"Cough, cough..." Once the old man woke up, he saw Simon Sun standing before him and asked doubtfully, "Was it this young man who saved me?"

"I wouldn’t call it saving you, just happened to be here. Sir, your body is very weak—I suggest you rest as much as possible. Your illness requires quiet recuperation."

Simon Sun didn’t say much more. He knew they had their own doctor, so he simply packed up his things and prepared to leave. But before going, he took out a bottle of medicine and handed it to the old man: "My master made this medicine—it will help with your condition. If you trust me, keep it with you. If you have another attack and your doctor isn’t nearby, take one pill."

Simon Sun did this purely as a physician, without a hint of flattery. Such sincerity is hard to refuse, especially when it concerns one’s life.

The young lady’s attitude toward Simon Sun shifted from suspicion to gratitude. She stepped forward to accept the medicine, and asked warmly, "Thank you, sir. May I ask your name? I’ll be sure to visit and thank you properly someday."

"You’re too kind, miss. It’s just my duty as a doctor. If you really want to thank me, please pay for the medicine and the consultation." Simon Sun naturally asked for his fee, startling the old man, the young lady, and even Doctor Bai.

The young man didn’t realize that everyone in this group was either rich or noble—earning their gratitude was worth far more than a few taels of silver.

Though Simon Sun was simple, he wasn’t naïve. Seeing their reactions, he smiled: "I don’t save people for gratitude. I save people, you pay the fee—then we’re even."

Simon Sun always treated Serena’s words as law. Serena said that a doctor shouldn’t expect repayment; if someone insists on thanking you, ask for the consultation fee. That’s how you preserve a healer’s integrity.

In truth, Simon Sun didn’t know Serena’s real reason: the more you act this way, the more others will remember you, and the more precious you seem.

What’s more memorable than a life-saving favor given without expectation of reward? As long as Simon Sun followed Serena’s teachings, he’d surely make many good friends in the future.

Just as Serena predicted, the old man and the young lady dropped their last bit of wariness after hearing Simon Sun’s words. The old man immediately ordered a servant to hand over a hundred-tael silver note, which Simon Sun had a guard collect without even looking at it.

The young lady looked at Simon Sun with new warmth. Seeing how young he was, yet so skilled, she immediately wanted to befriend him. She stepped forward and said, "Sir, my name is Charlotte Chu. May I ask what you’re called?"

Charlotte Chu! If Prince Nolan and Serena were here, they’d know this young lady was the very same who once declared her love for Prince Nolan and offered Chu City as her dowry—the only daughter of the City Lord.

But neither of them was present, and Simon Sun wasn’t the type to care about such things. The guards didn’t know either. Since the young lady had given her name, Simon Sun couldn’t very well hide his, so he introduced himself too.

Simon Sun didn’t know who Charlotte Chu was, but Charlotte Chu knew him. Since she wanted to marry Prince Nolan, of course she’d investigated everyone close to him.

Simon Sun, medical prodigy, treasured by Prince Nolan and Serena as if he were their own eyes—a person Chu City couldn’t afford to offend!
