Leaving Newcomer Hall

2/14/2026

The arena fell silent again, not stirring until Captain Li was carried away. The thin, ghost-like man fixed his gaze on Evan Yang and said, "You're indeed strong, but don't think you're invincible. Let me test your strength."

"Are you planning to get carried out too?" Evan Yang said sternly.

The thin man, surnamed Xiao, snorted coldly. "Carried out? You really think you're invincible, huh."

With that, the thin man lunged forward. His body moved like a ghost, using his own unique technique—his speed was impressive. Evan Yang, meanwhile, had already accelerated to sixteen times his normal speed, not even using the Fly-Fire Boots. Plus, since the opponent's cultivation exceeded the Divine Cauldron Realm, with the aid of supporting techniques, his speed quickly matched Evan's.

Once their speeds were matched, Evan Yang and Captain Xiao moved at nearly the same pace. Seeing this, Captain Ling and his group felt a surge of hope, and Captain Xiao himself was secretly delighted—at least in terms of speed, he could restrain Evan, preventing any sneak attacks.

But Evan Yang showed no sign of worry, instead entangling himself with his opponent.

"Kid, let's see what advantage you have now!" Captain Xiao assumed his cultivation was higher than Evan's, and believed his speed could restrain him.

Everyone present knew that Evan Yang had lost his advantage and would likely be defeated by Captain Xiao.

Yet Evan Yang's squad refused to give up. Led by Owen Bing, they shouted, "Go, Captain Mu!"

On the other side, people started cheering as well: "Go, Captain Xiao! Go, Captain Xiao!"

"Hey kid, don't your hands hurt?" The thin man laughed after seeing Evan Yang repeatedly block his attacks.

"Not at all. If that's all you've got, maybe it's time for you to leave," Evan Yang replied.

"What's with the arrogance, kid? Don't forget, I've got the advantage now! Your strength can't compare to mine. Want to go head-to-head? Let's see whose fists are tougher!" Captain Xiao sneered.

"Is that so? All right, let's trade punches," Evan Yang said.

Captain Xiao, unaware of Evan Yang's explosive power, sneered and threw a heavy punch at him. Evan punched back—and to everyone watching, it seemed certain Evan would be badly injured.

But to everyone's surprise, it was Captain Xiao who screamed in pain, staggering back and clutching the hand he had punched with.

Only Evan Yang and Captain Xiao knew that Evan had suddenly unleashed tremendous strength, making Captain Xiao feel like he'd hit an iron wall—his whole hand was forced backward.

"Are you leaving on your own, or do you want me to send you off?" Evan Yang said.

Everyone thought Captain Xiao would insist on staying and fighting, but instead he snorted coldly and said, "Just wait."

Evan Yang's group erupted in celebration.

Captain Ling had no idea what was going on and hurried after Captain Xiao, asking about what had just happened.

"Captain Xiao, your speed is just as good as his—why did you leave?" Captain Ling was puzzled, thinking Captain Xiao could easily stand up to Evan Yang, and questioned him.

"Damn it, didn't you see my right hand can't move for now?" Captain Xiao snapped.

"What happened?" Captain Ling looked at Captain Xiao suspiciously, even reaching out to touch his right hand.

Captain Xiao felt a surge of pain and cursed, "Be gentle!"

"That kid... his strength is terrifying," Captain Ling exclaimed.

"Yeah, even though he's only at the late Divine Cauldron Realm, his power is beyond reason. We'll need some Third-Rank Generals to deal with him," Captain Xiao said gloomily.

"Third-Rank Generals? That's tough. We're newcomers—how are we supposed to know any Third-Rank Generals?" Captain Ling muttered.

"We don't know any now, but that doesn't mean we won't in the future. Hmph, just wait and see." Captain Xiao snorted, staring at his hand.

As for those around them, they exchanged nervous glances, not daring to speak—but all were secretly shocked by Evan Yang's strength.

At that moment, Evan Yang addressed the group: "You all saw what happened today—they started it, so I had no choice but to teach them a lesson. In the future, be careful; they might target you next."

Evan Yang was right—it was entirely possible for others to scheme against them. Everyone understood, and someone even said, "Let them come. I'm not afraid of them."

"Exactly. So what if their captain is strong? He still got schooled by you, Captain Mu," another person said.

The rest of the group agreed enthusiastically.

Evan Yang shook his head helplessly. "Fiend Palace is huge. Just because they can't do anything now doesn't mean they won't find someone else. So don't provoke them—but remember, if they come after us, we won't hold back."

"We'll follow Captain Mu's lead," the group replied.

Seeing everyone listening to his orders, Evan Yang relaxed. When the tenth day ended, he led his team out of Newcomer Hall.

As they left, they were met with glares from some people, while others looked on with envy.

All forty-nine team members followed Evan Yang proudly.

Evan Yang glanced at the forty-nine behind him and said, "We can't just stay where we are—we need to make full use of Fiend Palace's opportunities."
