Divine Physician, Kneel Before Me

1/5/2026

Ryan Ling let out a long sigh of relief—finally, he had a way out.

This silver needle was once the personal tool of the miracle doctor Hua Tuo, who has now ascended to the Heavenly Dao. The needle itself has gained some spiritual power and can cure all kinds of diseases—especially poison. But it's a one-time-use item.

Reading the product description for the needle, Ryan didn’t hesitate for a second. He instantly exchanged all his Merit Points for it. The needle cost 800 Merit Points—his leftover balance from the fire rescue plus the reward for punishing evil at the soccer match. He dumped it all in, no holding back.

At last, the legendary needle landed in Ryan’s hand.

“Kid, can you do this or not? Stop putting on a show and wasting everyone’s time!” Victor Su couldn’t help but shout.

The lawyer glanced at his watch, putting on a righteous act: “Sir, if you deliberately stall like this, by casino rules you’ll be automatically disqualified!”

The others all started mocking him too.

But Ryan wasn’t fazed at all. Gripping the needle, he strode confidently over to Samuel Su’s bedside and called out, “What’s everyone so anxious for? I’m saving a life here, not doing a magic trick. Ever heard of being careful?”

As Ryan spoke, he shot the crowd a glare and slowly inserted the needle into the center of each of Samuel Su’s ten fingertips. This was the Ten-Fingers Detox Method—the “bonus item” bundled with the needle.

When they saw he was using traditional Chinese medicine and a silver needle for detox, the Western-medicine experts scoffed even harder.

“I thought this kid had some genius life-saving trick, but he’s just using some backwater Chinese medicine! What does he think this is—a village clinic? This is an insult to our intelligence!”

“Exactly! We’ve got all these imported machines and the most expensive drugs in Harbor City—does he think they’re just for show? Does he even know how much blood Grandpa uses for dialysis every day?”

“Heh, if he actually knew anything, that’d be great. We’ve tried basically every proven life-saving method in the world, and Grandpa hasn’t shown a single sign of improvement. If a silver needle can save him, we’ll all kneel and call him master!”

......

These experts were all full of themselves, clearly top doctors from major hospitals with a string of fancy titles. Naturally, none of them respected Ryan.

But right after they finished mocking him, Yvonne Su sneered, “Let him try! If Grandpa dies because this idiot thinks he’s a hero and messes around, all the responsibility falls on him. It won’t just be the cops taking him away—he could get the death penalty!”

“Exactly!” Mr. Warren Yuan nodded in approval. He’d originally been wary of Ryan—after all, Ryan had pulled off some weird tricks against Yvonne before. But seeing him pull out nothing but a silver needle, all his worries vanished.

Sophie Su, who hadn’t spoken the whole time, was especially nervous. Ryan had worked miracles at Leo Lin’s fortune-telling stall, but now, at this life-or-death moment, could he really pull off another save?

Sophie didn’t dare feel confident—her fists were already slick with sweat.

But Ryan was completely unfazed by everyone’s words. He focused all his attention on detoxifying with the needle. As blood dripped from all ten fingertips, he followed the technique and pierced the needle into the Tanzhong acupoint.

As soon as the needle pierced down, blood started dripping from all ten of Samuel Su’s fingertips—every drop pitch black, loaded with the toxins that had built up inside him.

Everyone froze, especially the medical experts, who exchanged glances. Clearly, none of them expected this kind of result.

Mr. Warren Yuan was stunned too. He’d mixed these toxins himself and knew exactly how they spread through the organs. How could a few needles draw it all out through the fingertips?

“Mr. Yuan, what’s going on?” Victor Su wasn’t stupid—if Grandpa really pulled through, he’d be in deep trouble.

“Relax. The poison has already invaded the internal organs—no way a few needles can wake him up!” Mr. Warren Yuan gritted his teeth, still sounding dismissive.

But just as he finished, a sharp-eyed nurse suddenly shouted, “Look! Grandpa’s pulse is getting stronger!”

Everyone turned to look. Sure enough, the monitors showed his weak pulse growing stronger, and his other vital signs were actually trending back to normal.

Even more unbelievable, Samuel Su’s skin—which had been purple-black and deathly pale—was now slowly turning fairer, and his swollen face was actually becoming rosy again.

Everyone was dumbstruck, especially the so-called expert doctors—their faces turned ugly, and they could hardly believe their eyes.

Ryan shot them a cold smile and swept his gaze over the stunned doctors. “So, you geniuses ready to kneel yet?”

Those guys never had any backbone—they’d only sided with Victor Su for the money. Now, faced with this scene, a bunch of them actually dropped to their knees, shouting, “Divine physician, forgive us!”

On the other side, Sophie Su was so excited she shouted, “Ryan, you really are a legend! I’m so lucky I ran into you today—and brought you here!”

Sophie was practically dancing with joy.

Meanwhile, Victor Su’s face went completely pale. Seeing Grandpa’s condition improving, about to wake up, he grabbed Mr. Warren Yuan’s sleeve and whispered frantically, “Mr. Yuan, you have to help me! If you can finish Grandpa off, I’ll double your fee—no, make it ten times!”

Hearing that, Mr. Warren Yuan nodded fiercely. He was still bound by his bet with Ryan—if he lost here, he’d be totally humiliated.

Gritting his teeth, Mr. Warren Yuan moved to a corner of the hospital room, pulled out two fist-sized red skulls from his pocket, and began chanting under his breath. In an instant, two red wandering souls flashed out of the skulls—though of course, no one else could see them.

“By the order of Heaven and Earth, wandering souls heed my command—drag Samuel Su’s soul out, now!” As soon as Mr. Yuan finished, the two souls shuddered and obediently drifted toward Samuel Su.

In a flash, Samuel Su’s face—which had just been looking better—suddenly darkened, and all his vital signs plummeted. His heartbeat was almost a flat line. Everyone was shocked all over again.

Ryan was stunned. The miraculous Hua Tuo Divine Needle had clearly worked—how could something like this happen?

“Damn it, look—this little bastard’s about to kill Grandpa!” Victor Su yelled, and except for Sophie, the rest of the Su family rushed over.

“Bro, this is bad! Wandering souls are trying to drag Samuel Su’s soul out—definitely Mr. Warren Yuan’s doing! He dares defy the heavens. Ryan, as the King of Hell’s godson, you have to stop him!” The System immediately warned inside his mind.

“How am I supposed to stop him?” Ryan was dumbfounded.

“Well, with your current strength, you can barely handle mortals—fighting wandering souls is a whole other problem…”

“Enough! Just tell me how to save him!” Ryan shot the System an urgent glare.

“You’ve used up all your Merit Points, and there’s nothing useful in the Special Item Store. But I do have a holy relic from the Netherworld—the King of Hell Command Token, left with me temporarily by your father. With this, even evil spirits will flee, but using it comes with a price!” the System teased.

“Come on, bro, I’m begging you—just spit it out! He’s really about to die. Whatever it costs, I’ll do it!” Ryan was nearly frantic.

“All right, you said it! In that case, I’ll lend you the King of Hell Command Token—catch!” The System smiled, and suddenly Ryan felt something heavy in his hand: a black token inscribed with a domineering phrase—‘King of Hell Command: With this in hand, it’s as if the King of Hell himself is here…’
