Furious Pursuit

2/14/2026

Ronald Santos tried to dodge, but Evan Yang had already smashed several holes in his defenses. Before Ronald could repair them, several daggers flew in and pierced straight through.

All that could be heard was a miserable scream. Ronald Santos wasn't sure if he should be grateful for his protective shield or lament his own tragedy—he tried to escape, but it was too late.

Now he was critically wounded in five or six places, blood pouring out, his aura fading. Finally, he dropped like a stone, crashing into the yellow mud, and the uncontrolled earth quickly buried him.

Could he really have died just like that?

Evan Yang pushed aside the mud and found Ronald Santos barely alive, with several daggers still stuck in him. With a wave, Evan recalled all the daggers. Ronald let out one last cry, then fell silent, staring up at the sky.

Ronald Santos died just like that. He never imagined his end would come this way—especially after falling and exhausting his last bit of strength, then getting smashed by the mud and finally losing the daggers. After several rounds, he was left lying there, lifeless.

Seeing Ronald Santos dead, Evan Yang piled mud over him, making a nameless grave.

After finishing, Evan Yang left the site. Today's events made him realize there were still many fields in this world he didn't understand—especially earth-attribute cultivation arts.

At the Shaw Family, Evan Yang was worried about his own safety and sent word to Landon Lynn. When Landon heard, he was shocked and rushed out, but was stopped at the gate by members of the Santos Family.

There, the argument was raging. In the end, Landon Lynn wanted to fight Dustin Du, but the Star Lord sent people over, saying the quarrel had to stop and that they needed to go to the Star Lord to explain what happened.

With that, Landon Lynn was summoned by the Star Lord.

When Evan Yang heard about this, he became even more anxious. But aside from Landon Lynn, no one else was strong enough to reach the Out-of-Body Realm, so sending anyone else would be pointless.

So they waited for half a day. Eventually, Landon Lynn returned to the Shaw Family.

"Uncle Landon!" Evan Yang greeted him excitedly when he saw Landon Lynn.

"Let's go." Landon Lynn hurriedly planned to take Evan Yang to Backridge Mountain, but just as they reached the door, they saw Evan Yang coming back from outside.

Seeing Evan Yang return safely, both were overjoyed, but Evan didn't celebrate. Instead, he said, "Let's go, to the secret chamber."

Noticing Evan Yang's strange expression, Landon Lynn and Cyril Shaw dared not slack off and quickly accompanied Evan to Cyril's secret chamber.

Cyril Shaw looked at everyone in confusion, but Evan Yang had already spoken: "Ronald Santos is dead."

"What!" Landon Lynn, Evan Yang, and Cyril Shaw all showed odd expressions.

Evan Yang didn't hide anything and told everyone exactly how Ronald Santos died. After hearing the story, all three couldn't help but admire Evan, and there was even a sense of satisfaction—especially Evan Yang, who exclaimed, "Good, that's karma! He wanted to kill you, but ended up dying himself."

"Who would've thought the Santos Family would end up like this," Cyril Shaw sighed.

Landon Lynn also sighed, "Without him, who knows what will happen to the Santos Family."

"We need to evacuate quickly. Once the Santos find out, they'll definitely go straight to the Star Lord. As for what comes next, I don't need to spell it out," Evan Yang said, seizing the chance while the Santos were still unaware.

Evan Yang's words reminded the others. The three exchanged glances, and finally Cyril Shaw said, "Evacuate!"

Landon Lynn also spoke up, "Evacuate!"

"Alright," Evan Yang replied.

Then Landon Lynn and Cyril Shaw discussed the rendezvous location and a few details.

Evan Yang quickly arranged things, and the Lynn Family did the same. As for Evan, he planned to leave together with Evan Yang after everything was settled.

Kade Santos was initially delighted—he'd managed to stall for a while. But after half a day with no word from Ronald Santos, he started to feel suspicious. He sent Ronald a message, but got no reply.

After several tries, Kade Santos got up and said to Dustin Du, "Let's go, to Backridge Mountain."

The two of them then hurried to Backridge Mountain.

Looking at the yellow mud and the traces of battle, Kade Santos landed and began searching for clues.

"Here." Dustin Du's divine sense was stronger, and he quickly found a grave.

Kade Santos rushed over. When he saw the grave had no name, he worriedly dug it open. Seeing the corpse below, he froze. "Why! Why!"

"He was killed by a sharp weapon!" Dustin Du squatted down and checked Ronald Santos's wounds.

"Impossible! My father's earth-attribute shield was incredibly strong—even that kid's attacks should've been blocked." Kade Santos protested.

"Maybe he has some kind of artifact," Dustin Du suggested.

"But we've never seen him use anything sharp in a fight!" Kade Santos still refused to believe it.

"Just because he hasn't used it doesn't mean he doesn't have it," Dustin Du replied.

Kade Santos was now overwhelmed with grief and anger. He didn't bother thinking further, and stood up, saying, "Let's go, I want the Star Lord to preside over this!"
