Do You Want to Duel Me
Bobby Bai: "Okay!"
"Little Shrimp! Who did you take as your master?" Jillian Summers asked.
"My master is super powerful! The strongest in all the Three Realms and Ten Wilds!" Bobby Bai declared.
"Ha!" Jillian Summers snorted coldly. "Do you even know how vast the Three Realms and Ten Wilds are? And you dare brag like that!"
"I don’t know how big the Three Realms and Ten Wilds are, but I do know my master is the absolute best!"
"This kid... really worships his master!" Jillian Summers laughed and shook her head.
"Little Shrimp, what's your master's title?" Princess Tuoba, daughter of Jillian Summers, chimed in.
"He's called Lord Noctis. Cousin, have you heard of him?" Bobby Bai asked in a sweet, childish voice.
Princess Tuoba nearly spat out her drink. "You mean your master is Lord Noctis?"
"Yep!" Bobby Bai said.
"No way! Why would Lord Noctis take a little shrimp like you as a disciple?"
"He liked me, so he took me!" Bobby Bai replied.
"Kids aren’t supposed to lie, you know."
"I'm not lying!" Bobby Bai pouted, then suddenly waved at someone behind them. "Master! Divine Lord Tanya Quinn!"
Everyone turned to look and saw Divine Lord Tanya Quinn and Lord Noctis walking over together.
"Little Shrimp, are you happy to see your Father Emperor and Mother Empress?" Divine Lord Tanya Quinn asked with a smile. (Father Emperor: Marcus White, Mother Empress: Clarissa Summers, Bobby Bai's parents.)
But Bobby Bai looked aggrieved. "My cousin doesn’t believe my master is the most powerful person in the world! Master, hurry and tell her—aren’t you the strongest?"
Lord Noctis shot Princess Tuoba a cold look and asked, "What, do you want to duel me?"
Princess Tuoba was so frightened she nearly lost her soul and immediately knelt down. "No, no! I just can’t believe my cousin actually became your disciple! I never doubted your world-class cultivation!"
Lord Noctis glanced at her coolly, then took Divine Lord Tanya Quinn’s arm and walked away, reminding, "Take smaller steps, don’t jostle the baby…" (Tanya Quinn is pregnant.)
...
Princess Tuoba wiped the sweat from her forehead and stood up. "Little Shrimp! Did you really become the disciple of the most powerful Divine Lord in the world?"
Bobby Bai nodded. "Now you believe me, right?"
Jillian Summers felt a pang of jealousy and deliberately said, "No matter how powerful he is, he's still a Demon God! You all need to be careful! Whether it's taking a master or marrying into a family, it's best to stay close to the Divine Clan, right, son-in-law?"
Her son-in-law, a demigod from the lower realm, scowled and said, "Can you not say such things out loud? If someone hears, it could be a disaster!"
She actually said that in front of everyone!
Jillian Summers looked thoroughly frustrated, muttered, "Let’s not stand around here. We should go inside!" and turned to walk away.
A palace maid checked their identities and led them to their seats.
Then they realized their seats were right up front!
These spots were usually reserved for the relatives and family of the newlyweds.
None of them dared to sit down.
"What's up with these seats? Did they swap the front and back? Is the spot by the door the front row, and this side the last?" Clarissa Summers asked, puzzled.
"I don’t think so," Jillian Summers said, having attended Divine Realm banquets before. "I’ve never seen this kind of setup!"
"Then why are our seats right here?"
Luckily, the fairy who led them hadn’t left yet.
Clarissa Summers grabbed her and asked, "Fairy, did you mix up our seats?"
"No mistake! These are your seats."
"But isn’t this spot for... like, the elders of the family?"
"Aren’t you all the Crown Princess’s family elders?"
"Huh?" Clarissa Summers was completely baffled. "We’re not!"
