Chapter 959: Creation and Destruction

Daryl Su stared coldly at Leon, a hint of pity in his eyes, as if he were looking at an ant about to be crushed.

Let’s see how you handle this, Master Leon. You damned fool, Dubois Charles’s order—he’s a true Sky Rank powerhouse. This time, you won’t have such luck, no one at that rank will come to save you…

Leon frowned slightly. At first, he thought the Black Tower had sent some urgent news, but after all this, it turned out Dubois was just jealous of the Four Seasons Plain’s harvest and wanted to steal it by force…

Leon stood up, brows furrowed, and walked out the door, completely ignoring Daryl Su.

"Master Leon! What’s the meaning of this? Are you really going to defy Dubois Charles’s command?"

Daryl Su was furious, never expecting Leon to simply ignore him, treating his words as if they meant nothing…

Leon frowned, lost in thought, glanced back at the enraged Daryl Su, and beckoned to Hubert in the distance.

"Hubert, please… what was his name again? Never mind. Escort this gentleman out. Be polite."

With that, Leon turned and left, not sparing Daryl Su another glance.

Hubert hefted Slaughter, grinning wickedly as he approached, followed by a dense crowd of alchemical golems. All the defensive weapons on the surrounding buildings swiveled to aim at Daryl Su.

A terrifying wave of magical energy filled the air. Every defensive weapon was primed to attack at any moment, and the alchemical golems all assumed combat stances.

Daryl Su’s face was a mask of disbelief, shock mingling with terror.

Most threatening were the four massive tubes, each seven or eight meters long, pointing straight at him. Deadly magic shimmered inside the dark muzzles, ready to fire at any moment.

Daryl Su felt icy fear grip his limbs and shouted loudly.

"I am Dubois Charles’s envoy! Master Leon, if you lay a hand on me, if my robe so much as gets dirty, Dubois Charles will never forgive you…"

Before he could finish, Hubert bared his teeth and kicked Daryl Su, leaving a filthy footprint on his immaculate robe.

Without waiting for Daryl Su to say anything else, Hubert grabbed him by the neck with one hand, lifted him up, and strode toward the teleportation gate.

A horde of alchemical golems escorted them, while defensive weapons appeared on every building, all aimed at Daryl Su. If he showed even a hint of resistance, these weapons would unleash merciless attacks. Every golem they passed was ready for battle…

Only when they reached the teleportation gate inside the Gray Orc Fortress did Hubert finally set Daryl Su down.

"Go on in. Lord Merlin said I should be polite—you really are lucky…"

Hubert muttered to himself and pointed Daryl Su toward the teleportation gate.

Daryl Su’s face shifted from pale to flushed, so angry his hair nearly stood on end.

"Damn bastards, you fools—you’re all dead! How dare you treat me like this, how dare you defy Dubois Charles’s command? My visit here is your luck, but next time, Dubois Charles himself will come. To insult a Sky Rank powerhouse is to court death…

You still have a chance. As long as I don’t report this to Dubois Charles, he won’t know what happened here.

Hand over the Four Seasons Plain, and give me all the resources and wealth you’ve gained recently. I can put in a good word for you with Dubois Charles.

Otherwise, hmph, you’re all doomed…"

Daryl Su regained his composure, cold and confident. He’d only been startled before, but now he showed no fear.

With Dubois Charles backing him, did Master Leon really dare lay a hand on him? Let’s see how long he can keep up this defiance. Offending Dubois Charles means a miserable death…

Daryl Su stood before the teleportation gate, looking at Hubert and the crowd of alchemical golems with disdain, unconcerned for his own safety.

Just then, Daryl Su saw a blue fireball trailing a long tail, plummeting toward him.

Detonation…

A flash of shock crossed Daryl Su’s face as he instinctively cast a Mana Shield.

The next moment, Detonation exploded against his Mana Shield with force far beyond an ordinary spell, instantly tearing through the shield. The wild energy struck him like a barbarian’s warhammer, sending him flying into the teleportation gate.

A flash of light passed over the gate—Daryl Su was gone…

Leon stood atop a distant building, frowning, his expression dark…

Dubois Charles has set his sights on us now. This is bad…

Though I can escape from a Sky Rank mage and last a few minutes, I’m still no match. Even with the Four Elemental Rules as my foundation, stronger than most Title Archmages, it’s nowhere near transcendent power.

If Dubois Charles comes himself, no one here can stop him—unless I prepare in advance and have everyone escape into the demi-plane…

If we face him head-on, aside from myself, everyone will be doomed…

Everything I’ve built here would be utterly destroyed…

The only way is to keep leveling up, and I have to accelerate my understanding of the rules. My current pace is far too slow—I need to speed up…

Leon sat atop the building, gazing at the bustling Gray Orc Fortress, lost in deep thought.

Facing Dubois Charles, Leon felt immense pressure.

Sky Rank—transcendent power…

The gap between Title Archmages and Sky Rank mages is just too vast. Even though my power now surpasses the limits of Title Archmages, I still can’t stand against a Sky Rank powerhouse, not even if Dubois Charles is only First-Rank…

Meanwhile, after Leon blasted Daryl Su into the teleportation gate with Detonation, it wasn’t long before Daryl Su flew out of a gate in a Black Tower-controlled fortress…

His robe was mostly burned away, his skin blackened with soot. Furious, Daryl Su stormed out of the gate and headed straight for Dubois Charles.

"Lord Dubois Charles, that Master Leon is far too arrogant! I was just announcing your order, and that damned savage attacked me, sending thousands of alchemical golems after me. If I hadn’t escaped quickly, I wouldn’t have made it back.

Lord Dubois Charles, Master Leon doesn’t respect your authority at all…"

Daryl Su looked utterly miserable, as if he’d just survived a war. Dubois Charles’s face immediately darkened.

"That foolish little insect, Master Leon. I gave him a chance, and he still refuses to take it.

Fine. Very well. You may leave for now. Razor Gorge is at a critical moment of conquest—once things settle here, I’ll crush that foolish little insect myself…"

Faced with Dubois Charles’s threat, Leon kept frowning, pondering how to quickly improve his understanding of the rules.

There’s no shortcut to understanding the rules. You either get it or you don’t—even decades or centuries might not bring any progress…

After a long contemplation, Leon handed all fortress affairs to his subordinates and entered the Natural Semi-Plane alone…

Floating in midair within the demi-plane, Leon looked out over the hundreds of kilometers of land, slowly releasing his mana.

Surging mana rippled outward, stirring the entire demi-plane, gradually bringing it under Leon’s control.

Around the demi-plane, earth, fire, water, and wind began to manifest—the basic Four Elemental Rules fluctuating as pure elements.

The demi-plane had now fully stabilized, with earth, fire, water, and wind as its four foundational elements.
