Goldwing's speed blew Nolan Nangong and Qin Xiaojiao away. Now that he'd evolved into a true Golden-Winged Roc, he could cross a thousand miles in a single instant. The wind howled past their ears, the scenery below blurred by so fast it vanished in a flash, and both of them felt a rush of excitement they hadn't known in ages.
"Evan, where did you get this Golden-Winged Roc? And what about that Bloodshadow Berserker Lion? Those are insanely rare Immortal Beasts!" Nolan Nangong asked, unable to hide his amazement.
"I got them in the lower realms. Back then, I had them sign Soul Contracts with me. Technically they're my contracted beasts, but honestly, we're more like sworn brothers—there's no real distinction between us. We'd risk our lives for each other, and the Soul Contract itself doesn't mean much to us.
That brotherhood was forged through countless brushes with death. Normally, Demon Beasts and Immortal Beasts are hostile to humans, but between us, there's no such barrier. You get what I mean, right?"
Goldwing and Shadow have suffered through a lot to get where they are today, and I really treasure the bond we've built—the kind of camaraderie you only get by surviving life and death together," Evan said.
"I never thought you'd have encounters like that. You're a nine-clawed Golden Dragon, but even the strongest Dragon Clan members in the Immortal Realm only have seven claws—and those are all big shots who just command from the rear in beast-human wars. I've never actually fought one myself," Nolan said.
"I don't know much about the Dragon Clan here, but if I get the chance, I'd love to go see them. I also want to check out the Phoenix Clan, though I only heard they're in Phoenix Valley. No idea where that actually is," Evan said.
"That place is super secret. The only way in is when the Immortal Beasts break open the boundary seals. But the Phoenix Clan is really domineering, and their Heavenfire is terrifying. If you ever do go, you'd better be careful," Nolan warned.
"Of course, but that's for later. First I need to establish Frostbane Imperial Palace—and more importantly, I need to marry Luna. If it weren't for her, I wouldn't be here today. We've survived life and death together; our bond can't be broken," Evan said.
Qin Xiaojiao barely spoke along the way, focusing on directing Goldwing's flight. None of them had ever been to Dream Spirit Sanctuary before, so they weren't familiar with the terrain. And with Goldwing's insane speed, a wrong heading would be a nightmare.
After flying for a bit over three hours, a dazzling palace appeared before them—the Dream Spirit Sanctuary Imperial Palace. The area was tranquil, ringed by mountains with only one entrance. It was a perfect natural fortress.
The Immortal Essence here was especially dense; cultivating in this place would give twice the results for half the effort. It was a paradise for training.
The five of them got off Goldwing. Basic courtesy was a must in someone else's territory, so Goldwing shifted into human form and joined Nolan and the others as they headed for the sanctuary's palace.
It wasn't long before they reached the sect's front gate. The gate disciples were startled by the sudden arrival—these were low-level guards who didn't recognize Nolan Nangong or Qin Xiaojiao, so they blocked all six visitors right away.
"Who are you people? What are you doing at Dream Spirit Sanctuary?" demanded one of the gate guards, a young woman.
"We've come to see your Domain Lord. Please announce that the Sect Master of Loveless Sword Tomb and the Dominion Lord of Martial Spirit Dominion are here to pay their respects," Nolan Nangong said politely.
The young woman was stunned, her face full of doubt as she glanced at Evan and the others. "Please wait here. I'll notify them immediately," she said, then hurried inside the Imperial Palace.
"Oh crap, why are these two legendary overlords here? They're not here to wipe out Dream Spirit Sanctuary, are they?" she muttered anxiously as she rushed down the corridor.
She burst into the grand hall, flustered and breathless. "Something terrible's happened! The top experts from Martial Spirit Dominion and Loveless Sword Tomb are here—they say they're here to pay their respects! Fairy Luoxia, please decide what to do!" she cried.
Right now, Fairy Lynn was still in Immortal Infant form, and the old Domain Lord was in deep seclusion, so all major and minor affairs in the Sanctuary were left to Lara Luo.
Hearing the disciple's report, Lara Luo's expression shifted. "How many people came? What do they look like?" she asked.
"There are six of them. One is a really beautiful young woman—she's almost as pretty as the Domain Lord. There's a handsome youth, another boy about fifteen or sixteen, and a middle-aged man. I didn't recognize any of them," the disciple replied.
Lara Luo was startled. "It's them!" she exclaimed, then flashed out of the hall and flew straight toward the mountain gate.
When she arrived at the gate and saw Evan and his group, she was thrilled. "You finally made it! I've been waiting forever—come with me, quickly!"
The group followed Lara Luo into Dream Spirit Sanctuary and soon reached the grand hall. "Domain Lord, Sect Master, please wait here for a moment. I have something very important to discuss with Evan. Please forgive my rudeness," she said.
"No need to be so formal, Fairy Luoxia. Evan came because he heard you had important business. We'll wait for him here," Nolan Nangong replied.
Two elders from Dream Spirit Sanctuary hosted Nolan and the others, while Evan followed Lara Luo to the door of a secluded chamber. There, she stopped and said, "To be honest, I invited you here to save someone. I hope you'll do your utmost—Dream Spirit Sanctuary will be forever grateful."
"You're being too formal, Fairy Luoxia. Just tell me what you need—if I can do it, I'll give it my all," Evan said.
"Here's the situation: my senior martial sister, Fairy Lynn, had her physical body destroyed—now she's only in Immortal Infant form. I hope you can help her restore her body. Rebuilding from Immortal Infant is incredibly difficult; it usually takes years, even decades.
Right now, Dream Spirit Sanctuary can't go a single day without its master, so I hope you'll do everything you can to help her. She lost her body saving Serena Frost, so I trust you know what needs to be done," Lara Luo said.
Evan was momentarily stunned—he hadn't expected such a thing to happen to Fairy Lynn. "She's inside this chamber?" he asked.
"Yes, go on in. We'll be waiting for you in the grand hall. If you have any questions, just ask her directly," Lara Luo said.
Evan pushed open the stone door and walked straight in. A violet Immortal Infant floated quietly in the air. As soon as he entered, a voice rang out: "Evan, you finally came!"
