Luna's words made Evan Chu stop abruptly and ask in confusion, "Why can't I do it that way? How am I supposed to get the Sacred Snow Lotus?"
"The ice layer here isn't as simple as you think. Even if you use Earthsplitter, you might not be able to break it. You'll have to find another way," Luna said.
Evan Chu glanced at the ice layer beneath the Coldglass Water, surprised at how incredibly tough it was. Yet the Sacred Snow Lotus could break through and grow normally—it was almost unbelievable.
"So how can I get the Sacred Snow Lotus? If I delay another few dozen days, I can't afford it. I've been away from Frostbane Sect for so long, I have no idea what's going on back at the sect. Things might look calm now, but if anything happens, it's dangerous without a top expert sitting in town," Evan Chu said.
"To obtain the Sacred Snow Lotus, you must first get the Cold Soul Pearl. The Cold Soul Pearl has a very unique property—just inject Stellar Power into it, and it will release a chill comparable to Coldglass Ice Gale. When this chill meets the ice layer, it rapidly converts it into Coldglass Water. Do you understand now?" Luna explained honestly.
Evan Chu wasn't stupid; he understood immediately. But when he carefully scanned the area with his divine sense, he couldn't find any trace of the Cold Soul Pearl. Was it hidden under the ice again?
"Where is the Cold Soul Pearl? Why can't I see it?" Evan Chu asked.
"The Cold Soul Pearl is a heavenly treasure and already has some spiritual will. It can hide itself, and if it gets tens of thousands more years, it might even form an artifact spirit. By then, it'll be much harder to obtain. You need to slowly sense its presence, and then you'll discover where it is.
To get it, you'll need to use Fireshift. Instantly burn away the coldflame coating the Cold Soul Pearl's surface with searing fire, and then the pearl can be used by you," Luna said.
Evan Chu had seen Luna's omnipresence many times before, so he followed her instructions and began to sense carefully. In this barrier, aside from the seven-colored Sacred Snow Lotus, there was nothing else. He spent a long time sensing, but still came up empty-handed.
Since Luna said it existed, Evan Chu believed her completely. He kept sensing over and over, and finally, at a certain moment, he felt a faint energy fluctuation not far ahead. The discovery made him overjoyed.
"Finally got you. Let's see where you run this time!" Evan Chu's lips curled into a smile as he spoke.
Gradually, an image of an emerald-green bead appeared in his mind. The bead was slightly larger than the Five-Element Spirit Pearls—about the size of an egg—and constantly emitted white mist from its surface.
Following Luna's instructions, Evan Chu willed a ball of flame into his palm and, guided by the discovery in his mind, swiftly grabbed at the space ahead.
He noticed that the spot he grabbed contained no Coldglass Water at all, as if it was somehow isolated—very strange. But in his hand, he could feel something real: a round bead quietly resting in his grip.
After the bead entered his hand, Evan Chu didn't feel any coldness—probably thanks to Watershift. After a few breaths, he opened his hand and saw that it was indeed the same emerald-green bead as the one in his mind.
Then Evan Chu walked over to the Sacred Snow Lotus, circulated his Chaos Force, and quickly injected it into the Cold Soul Pearl. The pearl immediately flashed with green light. Evan hurriedly placed it on the ice layer and watched closely.
The incredibly hard ice layer was now melting at a speed visible to the naked eye. Evan Chu felt the power of the Cold Soul Pearl and grew more and more excited.
Soon, a large section of the ice layer had melted away, revealing much of the Sacred Snow Lotus's lotus root. At this moment, Luna said, "Quick, harvest some! But remember, don't take it all. For rare treasures like the Sacred Snow Lotus, always leave a portion behind—it's a good deed for others and brings you great karmic benefit."
Evan Chu didn't really understand Luna's reasoning, but he followed her advice anyway. He cut off two segments of lotus root, stored them in his storage ring, and prepared to leave.
At this moment, Luna said, "Don't rush. Since you've taken the lotus root, the petals should soon condense into lotus seeds. Go ahead and harvest the lotus pod as well!"
Evan Chu didn't quite understand Luna's words. The Sacred Snow Lotus was still blooming—where would the lotus pod and seeds come from? Just as he was about to ask, he saw the seven-colored lotus suddenly wither, slowly forming a lotus pod, and finally, seven multi-colored lotus seeds appeared on the pod.
Evan Chu drew the Frostbane Sword and sliced off the lotus pod, quickly storing it in his storage ring. Then he asked, "What do the lotus pod and seeds do?"
"They have enormous uses. You'll understand in the future. These are extremely rare—even in our realm they're valuable. Take good care of them! That's about it; let's leave now!" Luna said.
Evan Chu picked up the Cold Soul Pearl from the ice and surfaced. Without Watershift, he probably couldn't have survived here at all—let alone obtained the Cold Soul Pearl and Sacred Snow Lotus from the Coldglass Water.
Once out of the cave, Evan Chu flew into the air and immediately slashed out with his sword. A thunderous boom echoed as boulders and snow tumbled down the mountain, triggering another avalanche. This time, Evan did it on purpose—he wanted to seal the cave entrance, since there were still Sacred Snow Lotus inside. Only a true fated one should be able to find such rare treasures.
After handling everything, Evan Chu flickered and teleported away. Then, with a thought, he summoned Goldwing from his body, sat on Goldwing's back, and slowly flew toward Frostbane Sect.
"Boss, you really scored big this time! You actually got the rare Sacred Snow Lotus!" Goldwing said.
"You actually know?" Evan Chu was clearly a bit surprised.
"Of course! We signed a Soul Contract, so I know most things. Boss, your skills really leave me in awe!" Goldwing laughed, flapping his massive wings and soaring several thousand meters ahead.
At this, Evan Chu started to feel a little uneasy. If Goldwing knew about most things, did that mean he'd seen Evan's intimate moments with his beloved women too? Damn, that's a huge loss—what now? What now?
"Boss, don't worry. When you're with your wives, I shut off my own consciousness. I only know what's happening when there's danger or a fight outside, so you don't need to worry about that," Goldwing said.
Hearing Goldwing say that, Evan Chu felt much more at ease. He decided that from now on, he wouldn't let Goldwing return to his body—same goes for Shadow. When he got back to the sect, he'd have these two guard Frostbane Sect instead. Otherwise, they'd see everything, and that would be a disaster... (Three more chapters tonight!)
