Hearing his words, Evan Yang smiled and said, "I understand."
"I'll draw you a map of the place in a moment. From now on, she's in your care. I hope you'll treat her like your own family," the old man said with a smile.
Evan Yang nodded, "Mm, I will."
So the old man drew the location for Evan Yang, then turned to the little girl and said, "Girl, Grandpa has to go on a trip. From now on, you'll be with this uncle."
"Grandpa, where are you going? How long will you be gone?" The little girl was eating, but when she heard this, she frowned and asked.
"Just follow this uncle, I'll find you soon," the old man said with a smile.
The little girl was clearly unhappy and quietly walked out the door by herself. The old man sighed, "Her name is Simo. I'll leave her to you from now on. Her body has reached its limit—if she isn't saved soon, it'll be too late."
"Her congenital frailty needs a solution. I don't know if I can find one after I leave, but I'll try to buy her more time," Evan Yang said.
"Alright, I'll leave it to you. If she recovers one day, I'll definitely thank you greatly," the old man said.
Evan Yang smiled, "No need. It's an honor just to know how to leave."
"Alright then, thank you." The old man smiled, and then, to Evan Yang's shock, slowly began to dissipate right in front of him. "What...?" Evan couldn't believe his eyes.
The strangeness of the scene made Evan Yang think he was seeing things, but what he saw was real. He put down his chopsticks, walked to the door, and saw the little girl sitting on a rock. Evan slowly walked over and asked, "What's wrong?"
"Did he leave?" The little girl turned around, her eyes full of tears.
Evan Yang didn't know how to answer. It all happened so suddenly that he said, "I don't know either. I'm just really curious—how did I happen to run into you two in this vast crowd, and who exactly is your grandfather?"
"My real grandpa is already dead. The one talking to you was just a remnant of his will." As the little girl spoke, her eyes brimmed with tears.
Evan Yang was stunned when he heard this. "What...?"
"Don't be surprised, that's just how it is. I always thought that with a body like mine, I'd already reached my limit and was supposed to die and go be with my grandpa. But do you know what he told me this morning?" Simo asked.
Evan Yang shook his head, puzzled. "No, I don't."
"My grandpa told me to go to the street, set up a stall, and someone would come find me—and give me something strange. As long as I brought him here, he'd cook me something delicious." The little girl cried as she spoke.
Evan Yang was stunned. He thought he was choosing everything himself, acting on his own, with no orders and no one able to predict him. How did the old man manage this? The more Evan thought about it, the stranger it seemed. He searched around but found nothing, then walked out, puzzled, and asked, "Who exactly was your grandpa?"
"He was a powerful man—everyone who saw him was afraid of him. But even he couldn't cure me. He said only you might have a way to heal me." Simo looked at Evan Yang as she spoke.
Evan Yang thought for a moment, then said, "This is all too sudden. I need to calm down."
It felt as if his whole life was being predicted by someone else. Evan Yang found it hard to believe, and resolved to track down the old man, but he had already vanished—there was nowhere to search. Maybe the girl in front of him could give him answers in the future.
Then Evan Yang said to Simo, "Since your grandpa entrusted you to me, let's go."
"Are we really leaving?" Simo asked Evan Yang. He nodded, "Mm, time is tight. If people from Hellsummit Palace find us, it'll only bring more trouble."
Simo steadied herself, wiped her tears, and said, "Alright then."
So Simo followed Evan Yang. She was leaving only because she hoped to see her grandpa again someday, and he had told her that only by following this man would she have a chance to see him again.
Thus, Simo left with Evan Yang, whose destination was the Sky Abyss.
Hellsummit Palace was anything but peaceful at that moment. The Left Protector was meeting with Patriarch Oscar Tian.
"You say he's the inheritor of the Demon‑Ward Eight Arts?" Patriarch Oscar Tian asked in disbelief. The Left Protector nodded, "That's right, that's exactly what happened."
"Damn it! Why would Demon Lord Damien Hollow know him, and why would he pass the inheritance to him?" Patriarch Oscar Tian could hardly believe it.
"What's done is done. I called you here to pick a few elites, track him down, and kill him. So what if he's the inheritor of Demon Lord Damien Hollow?" the Left Protector said to Oscar Tian.
"Alright, let's act now before he escapes," Oscar Tian said.
The Left Protector thought for a moment and said to Oscar Tian, "Mm. Wait here for me, I'll go pick three people."
After a short while, the Left Protector picked three people, and the five of them set out together to search for Evan Yang. In Magus Heaven, Hellsummit Palace had spies everywhere—wherever Evan appeared, they would know immediately.
Soon, they got news of Evan Yang's whereabouts and headed toward him. When they realized his location was the Sky Abyss, they frowned.
Just as Evan Yang arrived at the Sky Abyss, five people appeared behind him. He recognized Oscar Tian and the Left Protector among them. Evan smiled and said, "You all move pretty fast."
"If we didn't hurry, you'd have left already. But you're impressive—you even figured out that this place is a way out," the Left Protector said, unable to believe it.
"I just happened to run into someone who knew, so I came. Looking at this setup, I think I can leave." Evan Yang smiled.
"You can leave, but with us here, you won't get away today. Plus, the Sky Abyss isn't a place just anyone can pass through—the demonic energy inside is tens of thousands of times stronger than outside. Even those of us from Magus Heaven don't dare cross it lightly," the Left Protector said with a smile.
"Don't forget, I cultivate the Demon‑Ward Eight Arts." Evan Yang smiled. Hearing this, the Left Protector frowned, "I almost forgot about that. Don't even think about leaving today."
With that, the Left Protector's Bloodmoon Sword unfolded a domain, and the others wasted no time in launching their attacks.
In an instant, the five unleashed their ultimate skills, surrounding Evan Yang. He wasn't worried about the Bloodmoon domain itself, but the other four's attacks were fierce—he needed to escape their assault.
So Evan Yang split into multiple clones, quickly withdrawing, making it impossible for them to tell which was the real one. Taking advantage of this, Evan slipped toward the Sky Abyss entrance and smiled, "See you all around. Maybe we'll meet again someday—but next time, you won't be my match."
With that, Evan Yang flashed into the Sky Abyss. Seeing his uncanny clones, the five experts were stunned. Once Evan was gone, Oscar Tian cursed in fury, "Damn it!"
"What now?" the Left Protector asked.
"He's already gone. It's impossible to chase him now. But he said he'd come back, and I believe him. We need to figure out a way to stop him before he returns," Oscar Tian said.
The others nodded, so the Left Protector helplessly led them back.
As for Evan Yang, passing through the Sky Abyss, he found the place saturated with demonic qi. Many floating stones here were the source of the distortion.
Seeing this, Evan reached out and collected many stones, storing them in a Space Ring. Instantly, the ring was filled with compressed demonic miasma. "Heh, if I ever release this demonic qi, whoever faces it is doomed," he joked.
"You're ruthless," Blood Demon laughed.
"Didn't you ever think of that?" Evan Yang grinned. Blood Demon chuckled, "Heh heh."
Evan laughed and kept collecting until he crossed the entire region and emerged outside.
"Whew, done." Evan Yang smiled.
Once outside, Evan released Liam Yang and Mira.
Seeing they'd returned to the Chaos World, Liam grinned, "Dad, you can go back now. I need to handle something myself."
"I don't know what you're planning, so go ahead. I won't follow you this time—your dad still has things to do." Evan Yang smiled. After that, Liam and Mira disappeared, while Evan took Simo and headed for the Spatial Patriarch's hidden space.
There, Evan found Gavin (White Moon) and the others anxiously waiting. When Gavin saw Evan return without Liam, but instead with an unfamiliar girl, she asked curiously, "Who is this?"
"She's someone an elder entrusted to me in Magus Heaven Realm," Evan Yang replied with a smile.
"Magus Heaven Realm? That's where Liam was taken, right? Where is he now?" Gavin asked, curious.
"He said he still has some things to handle, so he won't be coming back yet," Evan Yang replied with a smile. The Spatial Patriarch commented, "What's he up to? Must be some 'male-female business.'"
"Heh, old man, you really know what's going on," Evan Yang laughed.
"Like father, like son," the Spatial Patriarch teased. Evan Yang, embarrassed, replied, "Old man, what are you implying?"
"You know exactly what I mean," the Spatial Patriarch laughed.
Gavin laughed to ease the mood, "Alright, alright, that's enough."
"I came here to talk with you, and also to ask, Patriarch, do you know if there are any truly top-tier doctors in the Chaos World?" Evan Yang asked. He wanted to help Simo find a miracle healer, since he lacked the ability himself.
The Spatial Patriarch thought for a moment, then said, "Yes! In the southwest of the Chaos World, there's the Southern Immortal Sect—it's the most famous place for miracle doctors."
"Alright, I understand," Evan Yang nodded.
"By the way, before you leave, could you help me deal with those factions still causing trouble outside—like the remnants of Heavenly Dao Hell Palace and the Bandit Gang's chieftain?" the Spatial Patriarch sighed.
Evan Yang laughed, "I almost forgot about that. I came back using your old secret method."
"As long as you know. Hurry out there—every day they're making such a racket, it's annoying. You can't hear it from inside, but I'm fed up," the Spatial Patriarch sighed.
Evan Yang laughed again, "Mm. Got it."
