He Really Came Back to Life
"Enough." Grace said. "He drank the Green Numb Bamboo first, which made him weak all over, then someone covered his mouth and nose and strangled his throat, causing him to die of suffocation. Time of death was about three hours ago."
"So what?"
"A Spirit Master has already formed a Spirit Core." Grace explained. "The Spirit Core gathers the essence, energy, and spirit of the master—it's their lifeblood."
"We're asking how you can prove you didn't kill him, and you're talking about Spirit Cores?" Vice President James Kee frowned.
"The Spirit Core is the lifeblood, and the body is just a vessel," Grace said. "His body is dead, but the lifeblood won't dissipate until six hours after death. So..."
Grace looked at James Kee with a smile and said, "His lifeblood hasn't faded yet, so he can still be revived!"
As soon as she said that, everyone was stunned.
Bring the dead back to life?
Is she crazy or what?
Even the Medicine God couldn't pull that off!
Of course, whether the Medicine God could actually do it, nobody really knows.
But since there's never been any rumor about it, that probably means even the Medicine God can't.
"So you're saying you can bring him back to life so he can testify for you?"
"Exactly," Grace replied.
"Heh!" James Kee let out a dry laugh. "Then show us something we've never seen before!"
He didn't believe her at all.
Ms. Rachel Zhang frowned, but with Elder Jonathan Hill present, she couldn't do anything.
"Master, please help me," Grace said.
Elder Jonathan Hill walked to the corpse and pressed his hand on the Spirit Core.
Then, in an instant, he poured a surge of spiritual energy into the Spirit Core.
He injected spiritual energy three times in a row.
Meanwhile, Grace placed both hands on Mason Fu's chest, pressing down continuously.
But the dead didn't come back to life.
James Kee smiled.
Ms. Rachel Zhang let out a sigh of relief.
That scared them for a second!
They almost thought she could really bring the dead back!
But Grace clearly wasn't giving up, still pressing on his chest.
She kept pressing for a long time, but Mason Fu showed no sign of life.
"Chloe Zhu," James Kee called out. "Stop pretending! Confess and accept your punishment!"
"Grace, what exactly are you doing?" Ms. Rachel Zhang raised an eyebrow. "Why not just confess and ask Vice President James Kee for leniency? Maybe he'll go easy on you for Elder Jonathan Hill's sake!"
Just as she finished speaking, Mason Fu suddenly opened his mouth wide and arched his body violently.
When he landed, he actually started breathing and his heart was beating—his eyes flew open!
"Ah!" Ms. Rachel Zhang screamed in fright, stumbling back and bumping into two Enforcement Team members.
"He actually came back to life!"
"Oh my god! He'd been dead for three hours and she brought him back!"
"This... is just incredible!"
"No wonder she's called the Young Miracle Healer! Her reputation is well-deserved!"
"She's Elder Jonathan Hill's apprentice—he taught her everything! Elder Jonathan Hill really is a legend!"
"Yeah..."
For a moment, everyone present looked at Grace and Elder Jonathan Hill with pure admiration.
James Kee's face was extremely ugly.
Where did this master and apprentice duo even come from?
One suddenly parachuted in as an elder.
The other skipped ranks and not only that—she actually brought a dead man back to life...
Ms. Rachel Zhang was even more stunned, her face ashen and her breathing shaky.
"Mason Fu." Elder Jonathan Hill's voice was calm, full of reassurance. "Are you awake?"
"Am I... alive or dead?" Mason Fu looked completely confused.
"You were dead, but Grace brought you back to life." Elder Jonathan Hill told him.
