Greedy for Forbidden Fruit, Body in Turmoil

Silver Four was sent outside, where he saw Silver Nine and Silver Ten waiting. He walked up and asked, "All right, what's this about?"

Silver Nine and Silver Ten explained the situation. When they finished, Silver Four snorted, "You two really have some nerve. Letting an Immortal Sovereign get away?"

"Failure is failure. No point making excuses. Watch how I catch them," Silver Four laughed, then took out a token. This token was also given to him by Gold Three. With it, he could enter the vortex and reach the inner space again.

After entering the space, he released his Divine Sense but didn’t find any trace of Evan Yang or Gavin White, so he started searching the surroundings.

Meanwhile, Evan Yang and Gavin White stood atop a mountain peak. Evan looked around and asked, "We've been walking for ages—why haven't we seen any sign of people?"

"To be precise, it’s just like a primeval forest," Gavin White replied.

"Yeah, and the aura here is so thick it's probably what makes the forest this lush," Evan said. What struck him most was how clear and refreshing the aura felt—just breathing it in made his whole body comfortable.

"Thick aura?" Gavin White asked skeptically.

"You really didn't sense it?" Evan Yang asked, surprised. Gavin White's cultivation was higher—she should have been able to feel it easily. That just made him even more curious.

So Gavin White asked Evan Yang what was going on, and after Evan explained, Gavin asked skeptically, "Are you sure?"

"Yeah. I just feel like there’s something here making the aura so thick, but I don’t get why you can’t sense it," Evan Yang replied, curious.

Gavin White shook her head. "I don't feel anything—it's just like usual." Evan Yang frowned at her answer, checked himself, and realized his Heaven‑Cold Seed was operating on its own.

Seeing this, Evan Yang muttered, "Could it be because of the Heaven‑Cold Seed?"

"What’s wrong?" Gavin White asked curiously when she saw Evan Yang spacing out.

"This place is definitely strange, but I think I can track down whatever's causing it. Come on," Evan Yang said, planning to follow the strongest part of the aura to its source.

Gavin White didn’t really get what Evan Yang was saying, but she trusted him. So Evan used the Heaven‑Cold Seed to sense the direction of the aura, and they moved closer step by step.

After several days, Evan Yang finally found the thing that was making his Heaven‑Cold Seed react. In front of them stood a towering tree, its branches loaded with fruit.

When Gavin White saw the fruit, she exclaimed in shock, "No way—how could this thing be here?"

Evan Yang didn’t recognize it, so he asked curiously, "What is it?"

"These are Sky‑Nine Divine Fruits. It’s said that if a Heavenly Dao expert eats one, it can increase their Heavenly Dao Intent. But these aren’t ripe yet—the mature fruit is yellow, and these are still green," Gavin White said excitedly, but unfortunately, the fruit wasn’t ready.

"How long does it take to ripen?" Evan Yang asked curiously.

"At least tens of thousands, maybe hundreds of thousands of years. It’s hard to say. Looks like we won’t get to taste them," Gavin White sighed.

"Not necessarily," Evan Yang said, grinning oddly. Gavin White gave him a puzzled look. "Why?"

Evan Yang smiled, looking at the Sky‑Nine Divine Fruits. "Watch me," he said.

Evan Yang jumped onto a branch, ready to touch the fruit. Gavin White cautioned, "Don’t pick it. If you don’t eat it within an hour after picking, it loses its effect. But since it’s not ripe, picking it won’t do much anyway."

"It’s fine. Watch me," Evan Yang said, smiling as he picked one.

When Evan Yang picked the fruit, Gavin White was startled—what a waste! Evan landed and laughed, "So you really only have an hour?"

"Yeah, you have to eat it within an hour. But an unripe one is worlds apart from a ripe one," Gavin White said helplessly, looking at the Sky‑Nine Divine Fruit.

Evan Yang smiled. "Just watch." He gripped the Sky‑Nine Divine Fruit, which was wrapped in a faint green aura. Gavin White asked skeptically, "What are you doing?"

"Just watch," Evan Yang said with a smile. Gavin White watched curiously from the side as the Sky‑Nine Divine Fruit slowly turned yellow. She exclaimed in shock, "You—"

Evan Yang smiled. "I can catalyze the fruit, so don’t worry. I’m taking all these Sky‑Nine Divine Fruits."

Gavin White was stunned. She stared at Evan Yang, at a loss for words. "You... I really don't know what to say to you."

Evan Yang laughed. "No need to say anything—they’ll all be ripe soon." Gavin White looked at the Sky‑Nine Divine Fruits, finding it hard to believe that something which normally needed tens of thousands of years to ripen was maturing right in Evan Yang’s hands.

After turning the fruit yellow, Evan Yang smiled and said, "Here, take it."

Gavin White hadn’t expected she could increase her Heavenly Dao Intent this way.

"You’re a Heavenly Dao expert, so it’ll be great for you," Evan Yang said with a smile.

"Thanks," Gavin White said gratefully. After taking the fruit, she told Evan Yang, "I need a few days to absorb this, so watch over me."

Evan Yang nodded and watched as Gavin White consumed the Sky‑Nine Divine Fruit and closed her eyes. Not daring to disturb her, he sat on a branch above, keeping an eye on her below.

Under the tree, Gavin White looked so graceful. Evan Yang watched her for a long time before snapping out of it and muttering, "I wonder what’ll happen if I eat a Sky‑Nine Divine Fruit myself."

Evan Yang only knew that Heavenly Dao experts could increase their Heavenly Dao Intent by eating the fruit, but since he hadn’t reached that level, he didn’t know if he could use it. He decided to try anyway—if it didn’t work, there was nothing to lose.

So Evan Yang picked a fruit and began to catalyze it. After a while, a yellow, fully ripe fruit appeared in his hand, and he swallowed it.

After swallowing it, Evan Yang felt incredibly comfortable, but all the energy was absorbed by the Heaven‑Cold Seed, and he didn’t feel any other effect. Seeing this, Evan Yang muttered, "Maybe it only works for the Heaven‑Cold Seed."

After eating one, Evan Yang checked the Heaven‑Cold Seed and saw it had changed. He started picking more to eat. After three fruits, he felt a bloated sensation in his stomach and stopped eating.

"Is the energy too much?" Evan Yang wondered, feeling the bloating. He decided to stop and wait for the Heaven‑Cold Seed to finish absorbing the energy before continuing.

But after several hours, while the Heaven‑Cold Seed had changed, nothing substantial happened. However, it triggered other changes: Evan Yang’s attribute zones—Sacred Flame, Ice‑Flame, Light, Darkness, Lightning, and Wind—began circulating inside his body on their own.

"What’s going on?" Evan Yang muttered as his body started to undergo strange changes.

His blood also began to flow faster, and his whole body felt like a machine, with everything running inside. The Blood Demon saw this and frowned. "Kid, are you sure you’re all right? If this keeps up, you’ll go berserk."

"I don’t know what’s happening either," Evan Yang replied curiously.

"Did you just eat something?" The Blood Demon hadn’t noticed Evan Yang before, but after seeing the changes in his body, he asked curiously.

"I ate a Sky‑Nine Divine Fruit," Evan Yang replied.

"What?" The Blood Demon exclaimed in shock.

"What’s wrong?" Evan Yang asked curiously.

"Do you know that only Heavenly Dao experts can eat the Sky‑Nine Divine Fruit?" the Blood Demon asked. Evan Yang nodded, "Yeah, that’s true, but the Heaven‑Cold Seed in my body absorbs it, so I ate a few. But after three, my stomach felt bloated, and then this happened."

"Ridiculous! The Sky‑Nine Divine Fruit is a divine medicine for Heavenly Dao experts, but to others, it’s poison! Eating one could make a deity explode, and you ate three?" The Blood Demon was shocked by Evan Yang’s words.

Evan Yang was shocked to hear this, but thankfully, he hadn’t exploded—just felt bloated. He said awkwardly, "At least I’m fine."

"You call this fine? Look at your body—all your attributes are in chaos. But I’m surprised, too. You actually have so many attributes. You really are a multi‑attribute person," the Blood Demon said, not sure whether to scold or praise him.

"So what should I do?" Evan Yang was worried something might really go wrong.

"There’s nothing I can do. Your body’s already absorbed it. Now it’s up to fate. If you’re lucky, your body will expel the excess energy. If not, all your attributes might erupt at once, causing a huge explosion that would destroy not just your body, but your soul as well," the Blood Demon replied.

After hearing the Blood Demon’s words, Evan Yang muttered, "My luck is usually pretty good."

The Blood Demon watched Evan Yang’s body helplessly, while Evan Yang sat on a branch, monitoring the changes inside himself.

Meanwhile, Silver Four was still searching for Evan Yang and Gavin White, spreading his divine sense everywhere. After half a day, he finally spotted the two under a big tree. Based on Silver Nine’s description, it had to be them.

"Finally found you—piece of cake," Silver Four said with a smile. With a flash, he headed toward the big tree.

At that moment, Evan Yang’s body felt burning hot, like a giant furnace. He also sensed something inside him about to erupt, making him extremely uncomfortable.

Just as he was wondering how to deal with the excess energy inside him, a man in silver armor appeared within Evan Yang’s line of sight.

Evan Yang was startled. "Oh no, they actually followed us!"

Evan Yang jumped down from the tree and saw Silver Four approaching. Silver Four glanced at the meditating Gavin White and the flushed Evan Yang and laughed, "You two were so hard to find!"

"Are you one of them?" Evan Yang asked.
