As the eldest daughter of the Mo Family, Sophie Mo naturally carried the pride of her lineage.
She would never lower herself to argue with a commoner.
But what she wouldn't do, Rona Muir absolutely would!
That woman's eyes were sharper than most, and her tongue was even more poisonous!
Helen Jiang dared to show off in front of Sophie Mo, but she wouldn't dare do the same in front of Rona Muir!
If Rona Muir recognized her true identity, she'd be doomed for sure!
Hearing that Sophie Mo was about to call Rona Muir over, before Cici could respond, Helen Jiang suddenly jumped up and blurted out, "Ah, I just remembered I have something to do. I should get going! Cici, let's catch up later! Miss Mo, I'm really sorry, but I have to leave now. Please forgive me!"
Sophie Mo merely glanced at her coldly and nodded with indifference.
In Sophie Mo's eyes, this woman was truly insignificant.
Whether in the capital or in Y Province, she was always a distinguished lady from a prestigious family—there was no need to take a streetwalker so seriously.
Cici couldn't stand that woman's attitude either. When she heard Helen Jiang was leaving, she didn't try to stop her and simply said, "Alright then, let's talk another day."
Helen Jiang grabbed her bag and fled in embarrassment.
Even with all her designer brands and her face altered to look almost identical, she still lost to Cici, who wore nothing but affordable clothes.
Because a fake is always a fake. No matter how much dust gathers on a real pearl, it's still a pearl. And no matter how much you polish a knockoff, it's still a knockoff!
Cici called Rona Muir, and as soon as Rona heard Sophie Mo was here, she dropped everything and rushed over.
Cici and Sophie Mo saw Rona Muir pull up downstairs in her flashy, fire-red Porsche. Sophie couldn't help but say to Cici, "Do you think Rona will ever change? After all these years, she's still just as flamboyant!"
Cici rested her chin on her hand and said, "I doubt there's any hope!"
As soon as they said that, both of them burst out laughing.
Rona Muir strutted in like a queen, her G-cup chest out and eight-centimeter heels clicking with every step. As soon as she entered, she rolled her eyes at Sophie Mo and said, "Seriously, you went to England recently and didn't even tell me? If I'd known, I would've gone with you!"
Sophie Mo replied leisurely, "Weren't you hiding out in Italy to avoid someone?"
Mentioning hiding from someone, Rona Muir deflated instantly. "Don't even bring it up—Sean Kerr just won't leave me alone..."
Not wanting to talk about Sean Kerr, Rona quickly changed the subject. "By the way, I heard about your fiancé..."
"Stop, stop, stop! Hold it right there! Julian King and I are not engaged. Our parents were just joking back then—there weren't even any engagement tokens. It doesn't count!" Sophie Mo quickly made a big X with her hands, her face flushed as she explained, "Don't lump me in with that pretty boy! I can't stand that type."
"Then why are you trying to set Cici up with your brother?" Rona Muir sprawled bonelessly across the sofa, giving Sophie Mo a sideways glance. "Don't think I haven't figured out your little schemes these past two years."
Sophie Mo hurriedly put on a smile. "I just want Cici to marry into our family, that's all! It's not like I'm forcing her, right, Cici?"
Seeing Sophie Mo looking to her for help, Cici just snorted noncommittally.
"Besides, my brother is way better than that pretty boy—he's handsome, loyal, hardworking, and gentle. If Julian King was even a tenth as good as my brother, I wouldn't mind marrying him! Look at Julian, surrounded by all those girls and admirers. He's such a player—he can go as far away from me as possible! I'm not interested!" Sophie Mo rolled her eyes. "It's not like I can't get married. Why should I tie myself to a crooked tree like him?"
"You've got a point," Cici agreed.
"If that's the case, why don't you marry Max Mo?" Rona Muir shot Cici a look.
"I just don't feel that way about him," Cici replied, perfectly confident.
"Ugh." Rona Muir and Sophie Mo both rolled their eyes at Cici at the same time.
It had taken ages for the three of them to finally get together again, and now they were laughing and chatting, enjoying a truly delicious dinner.
Soon, their conversation turned to Grandma Evelyn Yin's upcoming 80th birthday celebration.
Both Rona Muir and Cici said they'd be attending. Sophie Mo, remembering that woman who called herself Yolanda Jiang, frowned and said, "Cici, that Yolanda Jiang woman is trouble. You should keep your distance from her."
"Yolanda Jiang?" Rona Muir asked, puzzled. "Looks like I missed something important without even realizing it."
Sophie Mo made a disgusted face and explained to Rona Muir, "When I got here, I saw Cici sitting with a woman named Yolanda Jiang. Her features look almost identical to Cici's, but she has this obvious street vibe. If I'm not mistaken, she's probably in the flesh trade. Someone like her doesn't belong at our table."
In the flesh trade...
Rona Muir had to admit, she was totally stunned.
"Cici..." Rona Muir said earnestly, "Even if you've lost your memory, your taste was never this bad! Seriously, trust me! You always had such strict family standards—whether you were Cici from the Gu Family or Yun Xi from the Grant Family, you would never have crossed paths with someone like that. The Gu Family may be a mess, but at least they always stood on the side of decency. And the Grant Family is even more prestigious and scholarly!"
Cici twitched her lips. "I was just curious to hear what she'd say. Honestly, I don't think we're anything alike. I never felt close to her at all."
"Exactly!" Rona Muir and Sophie Mo said in unison.
Leaving Helen Jiang out of it, the three shifted their conversation back to what kind of gift would be suitable for Grandma Evelyn Yin's birthday.
After dinner, Sophie Mo had other plans, so Cici and Rona Muir headed back together.

Driving, Rona Muir said to Cici, "Whether we can make a splash for Danni Cosmetics Technology Ltd. at Grandma Evelyn Yin's 80th birthday all depends on how well we prepare. Cici, be honest—how are things going between you and Charles Yin these days?"
How are things going? What could they be? Awkward, as usual.
"It is what it is." Cici said, sounding deflated. "Rona, I've got something weighing on my mind."
"Hmm?" Rona Muir couldn't help but glance over at Cici. "Something bothering you again?"
Again?
Cici ignored Rona Muir's teasing and continued, "Tell me, if he really loved me, why didn't he look for me in the past three years? With his status and power, he could've found me anytime, right?"
