Testing Miles Gu

1/4/2026

Ethan Yin walked in, taking a deep breath. "Wow, it smells amazing. My dad always says that the first meal he ever had made by my mom was zhajiang noodles, so our family still eats them all the time."

Cherry Miller looked up at him and said, "But I don’t have zhajiang noodles here, only rice. So I made kimbap instead."

Ethan Yin raised his eyebrows. "No problem, kimbap works too."

Cherry Miller’s eyes darkened a little. "Young Master Ethan, how late do you think Miss Yin will stay out tonight?"

"What’s wrong?" Ethan raised an eyebrow at her. "Worried?"

Cherry said, "It’s my job to worry. Even putting work aside, Miss Yin is only sixteen."

"Don’t worry. In N City and S City, nobody dares mess with her," Ethan said, curling his lips into a smile. "Besides, she’s got at least twenty bodyguards following her, both openly and secretly. She’s strong herself, and they’re at the Mo Family’s villa, so nothing will happen. After dinner, you can relax. If anything comes up with Nora, I’ll let you know. Tomorrow’s the weekend, so no need to get up early. Nora will probably play games with them until late."

"But..." Cherry still looked uneasy.

"Don’t worry, Miles Gu will be there." Ethan sighed. "With him around, you can rest easy, right?"

Hearing that Miles Gu would be there, Cherry really did breathe a sigh of relief. "That’s good."

At that moment, Miles Gu actually wanted to go over, but someone stopped him.

It wasn’t just anyone who stopped him—it was an old acquaintance, the French noblewoman Livia.

Livia blocked Miles Gu’s path, refusing to let him pass no matter what.

Miles Gu’s red eyes flashed with impatience. "Miss Livia, what exactly do you want?"

"Miles Gu, do you really not remember me?" Livia puffed out her chest, moving closer. "Did you forget about our childhood?"

Miles Gu subtly pulled away to put some distance between them. "Oh? Is that so? I don’t think we ever had much of a connection, did we?"

From appearances alone, Livia did seem much more mature than sixteen-year-old Yina Yin.

But so what?

If he didn’t care, he just didn’t care.

"Miles Gu, don’t you think we’re actually fated? Look, you have British blood, I have British blood too. Us being together would be perfect, wouldn’t it?" After getting snubbed by Ethan, Livia came to Miles Gu to make her presence known.

Miles Gu looked at Livia with a half-smile.

Did she really think he didn’t know what happened at the academy gate this afternoon?

This woman, so full of herself, really hasn’t changed at all.

“Nope.” Miles Gu shot her down without hesitation. “Besides, I have a fiancée.”

“That little girl? How is she better than me?” Livia asked, unconvinced.

“Her fists are stronger than yours!” Miles replied seriously. “She’s undefeated in the entire high school division at Saint Diana Academy. You could try sparring with her!”

Livia was instantly speechless, unable to say a word.

“She’s got real fighting skills. Not as good as mine, but at Saint Diana, there’s barely anyone who can match her. So, tell me, isn’t she better than you?” Miles continued, dead serious.

Livia was stumped again.

“And she’s rich! She’s the eldest daughter of the Yin Corporation and has inheritance rights. So, isn’t she better than you?” Miles’ ability to roast people with a straight face was truly unmatched.

Livia was left completely speechless!

Could she even compare herself to the Yin Corporation?

What did she have to compete with?

“And she’s younger than you, too! She’s only sixteen this year and already 175 centimeters tall. She’s still got room to grow. So, isn’t she better than you?” Miles kept piling on, still perfectly serious.

Livia’s face was now red with embarrassment.

She’d never been roasted like this before!

“Want to hear more ways she’s better than you?” Miles looked at Livia with a totally straight face.

Livia silently turned aside to let him pass.

Why would she want to hear any more?

Wasn’t getting roasted enough already?
