Death of the Yin–Yang Demon Empress

1/19/2026

The Yin–Yang Demon Empress felt even more suffocated when she heard Evan Chu speak like this. If the Demonic Realm’s army really perished because of her, she’d become a sinner for the ages. Even though death was certain for her this time, she couldn’t do something that would make the world spit on her name.

"If I tell you the truth, will you really spare the soldiers of my Demonic Realm?" The Yin–Yang Demon Empress had no other choice now and could only speak helplessly.

"You’re in no position to bargain with me. But as the commander of the Immortal Realm’s army, my word is ironclad. As long as you tell me where Selena’s soul is, I’ll spare your Demonic Realm soldiers. Of course, if you dare lie to me, with my power, wiping out your Demonic Realm would be all too easy.

I doubt there’s anyone in the Demonic Realm stronger than you, so you’d better think this through. My patience has limits." Evan Chu said coldly.

"I hope you’ll make it quick after I speak. I, the Yin–Yang Demon Empress, have dominated the Demonic Realm for hundreds of thousands of years and never thought I’d die here. My heart is unwilling, but I can only face reality. Why does the Immortal Realm have someone as strong as you?" the Yin–Yang Demon Empress said bitterly.

"You only have yourself to blame for attacking my Immortal Realm. I hear your Demonic Realm also invades the Netherworld. After this war, I doubt your Demonic Realm will have the strength to attack the Netherworld again. Where is Selena’s soul? Speak!" Evan Chu demanded again.

"That woman’s soul is in the Abyss of Ten Thousand Demons. The so-called Abyss is actually the place where the remnant souls of vicious demons from the Demonic Realm are imprisoned. I myself crawled out from the Abyss of Ten Thousand Demons. If you want to save her, you’ll have to go there and search for her. Every word is true. I hope you’ll keep your promise and spare my Demonic Realm soldiers," said the Yin–Yang Demon Empress.

"Abyss of Ten Thousand Demons? Just hearing the name sounds dangerous. Are you deliberately setting a trap for me?" Evan Chu already believed most of what the Yin–Yang Demon Empress said, but he still had to ask.

"There’s no need for me to lie to you. The Abyss of Ten Thousand Demons really is dangerous, but with your strength, you’ll be fine. I don’t have much time left—do it quickly. I don’t want to suffer the agony of backlash," the Yin–Yang Demon Empress said.

Evan Chu glanced at the Yin–Yang Demon Empress and was about to act when, all of a sudden, a flash of red light burst from her body. She let out a miserable scream, and her body began to shrink, finally reverting to the size of the Demon Emperor vessel she had possessed.

At this moment, her wounds were even more horrifying—her flesh was torn to shreds, blood everywhere. “Evan Chu, hurry! The backlash is starting! I beg you!” the Yin–Yang Demon Empress cried out.

Evan Chu never expected that the number one powerhouse of the Demonic Realm would actually fear the pain of backlash. He’d seen her endure terrifying injuries without a single groan, yet now she trembled at the thought of backlash. It was almost unbelievable.

With a flash, the Frostbane Divine Sword appeared in Evan’s hand. He swung down, cleaving straight through her skull—shattering it completely.

But Evan knew that might not be enough to kill her. He unleashed Divine Slash—his soul-killing technique. The Yin–Yang Demon Empress’s true form was a soul body; only Divine Slash could finish her off. Evan’s current Divine Slash was terrifyingly powerful, more than enough to destroy her wounded soul.

With that strike, the Yin–Yang Demon Empress was finally dead. Her body erupted, turning into a cloud of demonic qi that scattered into the scorching air. The supreme commander of the Demonic Realm had fallen, just like that.

After unleashing those two blows, Evan’s wounds split open again. He sat down to recover, not too worried about the rest of the Immortal–Demon War—he knew the Treasureforge Sect Master had already slaughtered countless Demonic Realm soldiers with Heaven-Annihilating Talismans.

Plus, the power unleashed during his duel with the Yin–Yang Demon Empress had killed many more. Evan was sure that by the time he returned, the war would be nearly over.

Evan didn’t need long to recover—about an hour. Most of his wounds had closed, though full recovery would take time. The pain was bearable, and he could still teleport if needed.

He stood up and flew quickly toward the battlefield. Seeing the devastation he and the Yin–Yang Demon Empress had left behind, Evan was shocked. Was this really the power of top experts? What would battles in the God Realm look like—could a single blow erase a whole world?

Soon, Evan appeared above the battlefield. Just as he expected, the Demonic Realm army was in full retreat, utterly routed by the Immortal Realm forces.

Several demigod-level experts from the Demonic Realm had also fallen—mostly thanks to the Hidden Clans and ancient Immortals of the Immortal Realm. Their strength far surpassed that of the ancient Immortals seen during the Immortal-Beast War.

Yvonne Xuan and Serena Frost had been gravely wounded. Lynn Ling was also hurt, though not as badly. The Emerald Immortal Empress was in a similar state, while Nolan Nangong had fallen unconscious, lying quietly in the military camp alongside Jade Qin.

Evan Chu didn’t know any of this yet—if he did, he’d surely go berserk. Right now, he hovered between the two armies and roared, “Demonic Realm soldiers, listen up! Your commander has been slain by me, Evan Chu! Your army is defeated! But I promised her I’d spare your lives.

I hope you never again think of invading the Immortal Realm. The Immortal Realm’s strength is not something you Demonic Realm soldiers can overcome. Get back to your Demonic Realm!”

Evan Chu’s voice was amplified by Chaos Immortal Force, echoing for thousands of li. That roar consumed a third of his remaining Chaos Immortal Force, worsening his already grave injuries.

The Immortal Realm soldiers erupted in thunderous cheers at Evan’s words—the sound of victory, the sound of hope.

The Demonic Realm soldiers, meanwhile, were utterly dejected. Yet hearing Evan Chu promise to spare them, hope flickered in their eyes—they couldn’t wait to flee back to the Demonic Realm. This Immortal–Demon War had seen the largest deployment of Demonic troops ever, but also their most crushing defeat.

The main reason? Treasureforge Sect Master and Evan Chu—two absolute monsters. Together, they’d slaughtered nearly a third of the Demonic Realm army. And with Evan killing their commander, even if the demonic soldiers wanted to fight back, they were powerless. Morale had completely collapsed.

Seeing that the Immortal Realm soldiers weren’t chasing down the fleeing demons, Evan flew straight back to camp. When he saw so many wounded inside, he could only feel helpless. At least the most important people had survived—that was the greatest fortune of all.

Gavin Wei was tending to Nolan Nangong nearby. He was exhausted, having worked nonstop since the war began. After this Immortal–Demon War, the title of Medicine Immortal would be etched into everyone’s hearts...
