After we left, the Spirit Snake continued to lead us down into the Umber Domain. It carried us, gliding slowly across the lake surface, weaving casually between the small islands.
I started talking to Sylvia Blue about the memories I'd just recalled concerning Rachel Lan.
It didn’t take long to finish, and Sylvia laughed, though there was a hint of sorrow in her eyes, even a touch of dejection.
"What was it like when you two first met?"
Sylvia quickly composed herself and threw another question my way.
I let out a small sound. At that moment, the Spirit Snake closed its eyes, as if saying it would pretend not to hear. Even though it had no emotions, talking about this sort of thing felt a bit inappropriate. But Sylvia started pressing, clearly eager to know, tugging at my hand and swaying it.
I looked at Sylvia with some helplessness, glanced around, then nodded.
"Wait..."
Sylvia suddenly called out.
"What is it?"
