Evan Yang’s Standing

2/27/2026

Everyone could see the hatred the Fenn Family member had for Evan Yang, and it shocked them. All four Heaven-Battling Clans were now entangled with Evan; except for the Water Clan, the other three clans all saw him as a thorn in their side.

"Who is he?" Lydia Yang asked curiously.

"He's none other than the soul master of the Fenn Family from the Blue World," Evan Yang replied.

"So it's him. No wonder you've gotten involved with the Fenn Family," Lydia said, surprised and suspicious.

"I didn't want to, but now there's no way around it," Evan Yang said with a smile.

Patriarch Fenn merely glanced at Evan Yang, then told his clan members to stay put while he went inside first.

"Just wait. I won't let you off," the Fenn Family member stared coldly at Evan Yang and snorted. His words made it clear to everyone: he and Evan had a serious feud.

Evan Yang smiled. "A lot of people have said that to me. But you'd better worry about yourself. If you hurt my people, you won't get away with it."

Evan knew this man was the one who left Xin Jiang with only her soul. If he hadn't shown up in time, many people would have died. Thinking of this, he felt both indignant and furious.

"Your people? I really regret not killing them back then," the man said angrily.

"Your strength was limited back then, wasn't it? So don't talk nonsense," Evan Yang said.

"Damn you, stop acting tough. Just wait, I'll crush you on the stage," the other man snapped.

"Same to you," Evan Yang shot back.

The confrontation between the two once again defined Evan Yang's relationship with the other contestants.

"Kid, you're really something—making enemies out of so many people," Kevin Chance laughed from the side.

Evan Yang smiled, "Isn't that better? At least on stage I won't have to hold back—I can cripple them as much as I want."

"That's true. With no worries about the aftermath, you can go all out. Looks like that's actually an advantage for you," Kevin Chance paused, then laughed.

Evan Yang just smiled slightly.

Even in his current predicament, Evan Yang remained so calm that those around him couldn't guess what he was thinking. Did he really believe he was invincible?

Evan Yang didn't dare claim to be invincible, but he knew he had to take first place—no matter what. Otherwise, seeing his father would become much more difficult.

Right now, it was as if among the four clans, one and a half supported Evan Yang, while the other two and a half absolutely hated him.

But Evan Yang didn't care. He just waited. About an hour after the four clans went inside, a man in Daoist robes arrived and said, "Members of the four Heaven-Battling Clans, please follow me."

Everyone followed the disciple and entered the formation one by one. Inside, it was a whole new world—it felt just like being on a planet.

And this planet was endless—Evan Yang's divine sense couldn't even see the edges. He was shocked; what he'd seen outside was nothing like what he saw now.

"This is the highest-grade immortal formation—a ninth-tier. With this formation, even a Devil Sovereign couldn't break it unless they coordinated their power," Kevin Chance said with a laugh.

Evan Yang hadn't expected to see a ninth-tier immortal formation, and now he was inside it. Looking around, he couldn't help but be amazed at the strength of the Immortal Realm Alliance. It made sense—such a massive alliance needed real power to protect the Immortal Realm and become an eternal milestone.

For those who had never visited the Immortal Realm Alliance, it was a shock. While the four Heaven-Battling Clans were powerful, there was still a gap compared to the Alliance. Many people wanted to join a special organization within the Alliance, but entry required not just talent, but approval from an Immortal Sovereign. This was exactly what the Yang Clan Patriarch wanted for Evan—it would help him break through to the Sovereign Realm in the future.

For any clan, having an Immortal Sovereign was a dream and a source of immense strength. All clans wanted one, but among the four Heaven-Battling Clans, only the Lynn Family had an Immortal Sovereign—and he was part of the Immortal Realm Alliance.

Evan Yang didn't know any of this. If he had known the Lynn Family had an Immortal Sovereign inside, he would have been shocked. But Immortal Sovereigns had their own rules: their destructive power was so great, they couldn't just kill at will. Usually, a Sovereign would only appear if their clan faced a crisis; otherwise, random appearances or killings would lead to punishment from other Sovereigns in the Alliance.

Right now, Evan Yang was here to take first place, while most of the others were aiming to enter that special organization.

"Hey there, brother, where are you taking us?" Kevin Chance, ever lively, asked out of curiosity since they'd been walking for a while without any explanation.

"Ahead, an elder is waiting for you all. He'll arrange your lodgings and explain the upcoming matches," the man replied.

Seeing someone to receive them, everyone nodded. Some people started scheming, hoping to cozy up to the guide—maybe that would get them better rooms. Good rooms meant good mood, and a good mood meant better performance in the matches.

So they were all eager to see which elder it would be, and whether they knew him.

After a short while, they finally arrived at a pavilion called Noble Guest Pavilion.

Inside, seats were already prepared, divided by clan in four directions, with each clan's name clearly labeled.

Everyone chose their seats according to clan and waited.

Soon after, someone walked in—it was none other than Elder Lewis Lu. When he saw Evan Yang, he smiled warmly. Evan hadn't expected it would be Elder Lu, so he nodded in greeting.

This subtle gesture was noticed by everyone, making them uneasy. What was going on? Evan Yang really was impressive—he even knew an elder of the Immortal Realm Alliance.

Elder Lewis Lu smiled and said, "Welcome to the Immortal Realm Alliance, everyone."

"I didn't expect it would be Elder Lewis Lu." Yang Tian's father also knew Elder Lu, so he hurried over to greet him.

"What? Aren't you happy to see me?" Elder Lewis Lu laughed.

"Not at all. We'll be troubling you a lot this time. This is my son, and he's one of the contestants," Yang Tian's father replied with a smile.

The other clans were annoyed—why did Elder Lewis Lu go to the Yang Clan first? Did he really favor them?

Yang Tian's father's words only made the other clans more anxious. But soon they were even more shocked: Elder Lewis Lu wasn't looking for anyone else—he really was chatting with Evan Yang.

After smiling at Yang Tian's father, Elder Lewis Lu turned to Evan Yang and said, "So you finally came."

"Senior, you've misunderstood. I'm just here for the tournament," Evan Yang replied.

"Oh? That's all? Don't you want to join the Immortal Realm Alliance?" Elder Lewis Lu asked in surprise.

"Join? I don't have any plans for that right now—I just want to compete," Evan Yang said with a smile.

Hearing Evan Yang refuse the elder, not only others but even Lydia Yang was surprised. "What's wrong with you? How could you turn down such a good opportunity?" she exclaimed.

"What opportunity?" Evan Yang was interested in the Immortal Realm Alliance, but hadn't planned to join. Lydia Yang and the Wine Beggar knew Yang Ming's intention: to use the tournament to help Evan enter that organization. If they'd known Elder Lewis Lu would invite Evan directly, there would've been no need for the tournament.

"It's hard to explain," Lydia Yang replied, knowing she couldn't tell Evan—otherwise he'd be even less likely to go. But she knew Evan was doing all this for his father.

Evan Yang felt a bit awkward, but Elder Lewis Lu just laughed and said, "No worries. There'll be more chances in the future. Whenever you want to come, the Immortal Realm Alliance will always welcome you."

Elder Lewis Lu's words made those who wanted to join the Alliance both envious and jealous—some even resentful.

Yang Tian's father couldn't help but add, "Elder Lewis Lu, my son is outstanding too."

"I know. We'll see everyone's outstanding performance in the tournament soon," Elder Lewis Lu replied with a smile.

Among the contestants, except for the Water Clan, everyone wanted Evan Yang to lose and be humiliated. If Evan was favored by the Alliance, then defeating him would boost their own chances of getting in.

After finishing, Elder Lewis Lu turned to Evan Yang and said, "You don't know how those two have been bragging about you to everyone. This time, don't let them lose face."

"Those two?" Evan Yang asked suspiciously.

"That's right—the other two elders," Elder Lewis Lu replied.

Evan Yang remembered—during the Territory War Contest, two people had arrived later: a man and a woman who helped with the Golden Light Array to keep out demonic energy.

Others were even more shocked by Elder Lewis Lu's words—Evan Yang didn't just know one elder, but three.

This only made them more resentful—how could Evan Yang be so lucky, knowing everyone?

But Yang Tian knew what was really going on—he'd been at the tournament himself. Elder Lewis Lu's smile faded as he looked at Yang Tian and said, "Back then, you sent people to kill Evan Yang. I really thought he'd disappeared. Luckily, you didn't finish the job."

Evan Yang had indeed 'died' back then. Yang Tian didn't know what had happened, but his father was anxious—why was Elder Lewis Lu treating his son so differently?

"Elder Lewis Lu, my son Tian'er was just ignorant—he may have offended you. Please don't take it to heart," Yang Tian's father said with a smile.

"Why would I take it to heart? But he tried to harm our benefactor. That's something we can't stand. Thankfully, Evan Yang survived—otherwise, it would've been a real loss for the Immortal Realm," Elder Lewis Lu replied, still angry at Yang Tian's actions.

Yang Tian knew where he stood with Elder Lewis Lu, so he didn't hesitate to retort, "Elder Lu, don't slander me. Do you have any proof I tried to kill your benefactor?"
