Dualis Order

Rong Xuefei and Brian Rong left the restaurant physically unharmed, but their faces were filled with terror and dread. Of course, they didn’t believe Jason Ji would just let them off so easily.

They didn’t dare imagine how Jason Ji would punish them, nor could they escape it—they could only wait in fear for the moment punishment arrived.

Meanwhile, Ian Song and Wendy Lin stayed briefly at the Ji estate.

Three days later, the Ji Clan’s agents returned with news about Liam Lin. Ian had assumed Liam was probably dead, but to his surprise, he had survived—and joined the Dualis Order.

The Dualis Order isn’t a sect based in Yuyang Commandery, but rather a large cultivation sect located in neighboring Haoyang Commandery.

Its strength surpasses even the Qilin Sect and Sword Sect.

At the same time, the Dualis Order differs from most sects in one key way: because of its cultivation methods, progress is extremely slow for anyone practicing alone. So in the Dualis Order, disciples usually cultivate in male–female pairs—a practice known as dual cultivation.

Because of this, many lustful and morally corrupt cultivators have flocked to the Dualis Order over time. As the years passed, the sect’s style became more and more unrestrained, and its reputation steadily worsened. Other sects now openly sneer at the mention of the Dualis Order.

Learning that Liam Lin had joined the Dualis Order, Ian hesitated, unsure whether to tell Wendy Lin the news. If Wendy insisted on going to the Dualis Order to find her cousin, wouldn’t she be stepping into a wolf’s den?

After thinking it over, Ian decided it was better to be honest with her. Worst case, he could just accompany her to the Dualis Order himself.

"Ian, is there news about my big brother?"

As soon as she saw Ian, Wendy Lin couldn’t wait to ask.

Ian nodded.

Seeing Ian nod, Wendy Lin’s expression became extremely joyful and she pressed on: “Where is he now? Is he okay?”

"He’s fine, and he’s joined a major sect," Ian added.

"Ah, that’s wonderful! I’m going to find him!" Wendy Lin clapped her hands, extremely excited.

"Wendy, do you know what kind of sect your cousin joined?" Ian’s expression suddenly became very serious.

"Ian, can you tell me?"

"Your cousin joined a sect called the Dualis Order."

Then Ian explained the nature of the Dualis Order in plain terms. Even though Wendy Lin was pure-hearted and a bit naive, she understood what kind of sect it was and blushed, saying, "How could my cousin join a sect like that!"

Hearing Wendy Lin say this, Ian couldn’t help but breathe a small sigh of relief. The girl wasn’t completely hopeless, so he smiled and said, “Although the Dualis Order isn’t recognized by other sects in some ways, their strength is impressive. It’s actually not a bad choice for your cousin to join them. So, do you still want to find him?”

Wendy Lin thought for a moment. “I want to see my cousin, otherwise he’ll worry about me.”

Alright!

Ian nodded. In fact, there were things he hadn’t told Wendy Lin. According to the Ji Clan’s information, after Liam Lin separated from Wendy Lin that night, he ran off in the opposite direction.

In other words, he didn’t actually protect Wendy Lin from Samuel Lin. Instead, he used her as a shield, and in just a few days, he escaped Yuyang Commandery and joined the Dualis Order.

This shows that he was desperate to escape, and being able to join the Dualis Order in such a short time proves he’s quite resourceful and cunning.

He didn’t spell this out, though, because he was worried Wendy Lin would think he was trying to ruin her relationship with her cousin.

The next day, outside the commandery capital, Ian and Wendy Lin waved goodbye.

Wendy Lin called back, “Goodbye, Brother Ian! After I meet my cousin, I’ll come back to find you.” Then she rode off toward Haoyang Commandery on a spirit horse.

“Master, why don’t you just tell Miss Lin what kind of person Liam Lin really is?” Jason Ji asked in confusion.

Ian replied calmly, “Personal experience is worth more than a thousand warnings. If she doesn’t go through it herself, she’ll never truly believe what kind of person Liam Lin is.”

Jason Ji suddenly understood. “Master, you really do have her best interests at heart. Miss Lin is lucky to have met you.”

At this, Ian rolled his eyes and glared at Jason. “Enough with the flattery, old Ji! You’re laying it on way too thick!”

Jason Ji could only give an awkward laugh.

“Time for me to go!”

With a wave, Ian’s figure blurred and vanished on the spot.

Five days later, Zhuyang Town.

This was the closest town to the Dualis Order.

After five days of travel, Wendy Lin finally arrived, dusty and tired. She had no idea that over the past few days, Ian had secretly driven off more than ten groups of cultivators who had their eyes on her, making him feel like a babysitting bodyguard.

“Whatever, once this is over, I’ll introduce this girl to the Jade Maiden Sect!”
