Get Lost

Lana Evans glared at Susan Evans's retreating figure and shouted, "Fine! If you don't care about me, then don't expect me to care about you! It's all your stupid idea's fault—my father doesn't want me anymore. From now on, I won't recognize you as my mother!"

Susan Evans stomped her foot in anger. "Don't recognize me? Fine! None of you need to recognize me!"

With that, she disappeared in a puff, leaving no trace behind.

Lana Evans was still being beaten by Dr. Oscar Young. Protecting her head, she turned to Jasper Cheng for help: "Husband, save me! This man is going to beat me to death—please pull him away!"

Jasper Cheng's mind was racing: Lana Evans's most valuable asset—her father—had turned against her, and her mother had left too. Right now, Lana Evans was just a useless village girl. Jasper Cheng thought about how, for this village girl, he had not only offended the Prince of Qin, but also ruined a hard-won marriage prospect in the countryside. He was so angry his teeth itched, feeling like marrying Lana Evans was a huge loss!

So Jasper Cheng snapped, "Pull him away? Are you kidding? That guy's built like an ox! You want me to pull him off? You might as well ask me to go get myself killed!"

With that, Jasper Cheng patted his backside and walked off.

Lana Evans shouted, "Husband, don't go! I'm your wife—we're bound together for life! You can't just abandon me!"

But Jasper Cheng acted as if he hadn't heard her, running off even faster than a rabbit.

Everyone was gone, but Lana Evans was still being beaten. Luckily, Dr. Oscar Young was overweight and out of shape, so after a while he lost his strength. Lana Evans barely escaped with her life—her face bruised and swollen, dragging her injured leg, she limped toward the courtyard Jasper Cheng was renting.
