Lin Feng seemed a bit shy and said in a low voice, "A lot of travel guides contradict each other, so I looked up many guides and wrote my own. This way, everything is much clearer."
Rona Muir nodded. It really was very clear and easy to understand.
The guide was full of illustrations, showing that Lin Feng's drawing skills were quite impressive.
"The hotel I booked is right here." Lin Feng pointed to a spot on the map and said to Rona Muir, "This place is close to all three scenic spots, just a half-hour drive—super convenient for getting around."
Lin Feng opened his phone, located the exact place on the satellite map, and showed Rona Muir some pictures: "Look at this farm—they've planted huge fields of rice, and right now it's harvest season for the first crop. We can look out over the whole field; the feeling of a good harvest must be amazing. And here, this is a field of rapeseed. Even though the blooming season is over, the vast stretches of rapeseed are still pretty great!"
Rona Muir helpfully reminded him, "May is also rapeseed harvest season."
Lin Feng froze for a moment, then blushed instantly. "Ah, I didn't know that."
Rona Muir couldn't help but laugh at Lin Feng's expression. "It's fine, watching the rapeseed being harvested is pretty nice too."
Lin Feng looked awkwardly at Rona Muir, then pretended nothing happened and pointed to the next spot. "Check this out—there's a huge man-made lake here, which is also the local reservoir and the source of drinking water for D City. I even looked up some info about it. It used to be a natural lake, but it was later expanded and rerouted to become a massive artificial lake. The water is clear, there are lots of fish, and some small aquaculture operations. We can go fishing and pick some produce."
"And here is a local ancient town. It's not super famous, but apparently there's a century-old shop here that makes amazing textiles. It's worth checking out."
Rona Muir watched Lin Feng enthusiastically introduce the nearby sights and couldn't help but ask, "Lin Feng, did you put a lot of effort into making this guide?"
Lin Feng suddenly stopped talking, then looked up at Rona Muir. "I did spend quite a bit of time researching guides. I just thought, Mr. Pingshan is busy with experiments and data, so he probably doesn't have time to make a guide. And you're always so busy with work, coming and going every day, so naturally you wouldn't have the time or energy for it. Amy is always following Mr. Pingshan doing experiments, so she's busy too. I'm an actor, so even though I'm busy, I still have more free time. Rona, I just wanted to make you a little happier, help you relax. I don't want work to wear you down."
Because I care about you.
But in the end, he didn't dare to say that out loud.
Sure enough, Rona Muir was touched and said, "Amy is so lucky to have such a thoughtful boyfriend."
"Is that so?" Lin Feng smiled faintly, a hint of bitterness in his eyes.
Actually, I wish I could be your boyfriend, Rona.
"And here, I marked this spot—it's not far from your meeting venue. If you have time, your assistant can order food from there. It's a time-honored local snack shop that's been around for five generations, and it's highly recommended by travelers." Lin Feng marked it with a red pen and reminded Rona Muir, "Hotel food is just average, pretty generic. I know you prefer sweet flavors, and D City's cuisine is pretty mild, so it might not suit your taste. This shop has several great sweet dishes."
"Also, I checked the weekend weather—it's supposed to be mostly sunny, but make sure to protect yourself from the sun. Even though you're the CEO of a cosmetics company, you probably don't use sunscreen as much as I do. Here, I brought you a bottle of really good, non-greasy sunscreen. And..."
Rona Muir suddenly interrupted Lin Feng, "You made all these plans for me, didn't you? What about Amy? What did you prepare for her?"
Lin Feng smiled and said, "With me around, she just has to follow me. Why would she need her own guide?"
Rona Muir didn't question it further and smiled, "That's true."
With Rona's interruption, Lin Feng dropped the subject. "Hurry up and eat, I'll go check on Amy."
"Okay." Rona Muir nodded and continued eating the breakfast Lin Feng brought.
Lin Feng walked toward the restaurant, secretly letting out a sigh of relief.
That was close!
Almost blew my cover!
Rona Muir really isn't one of those clueless girls. If your acting isn't up to par, you can't fool her!
"Amy." Lin Feng called out from a distance, giving Amy a heads-up: "Is Mr. Pingshan still busy?"
Amy got Lin Feng's hint and immediately pouted. What a useless guy—such a good opportunity, and he still couldn't win over Rona Muir.
"Yeah, he'll probably be busy for a while," Amy replied, glancing at Rona Muir in the distance. "Didn't you say you wanted to introduce the guide to President Gu?"
"I've pretty much finished," Lin Feng said, sitting down beside Amy on the sofa. He picked up a cup of tea, took a sip, and gave Amy a sharp look as a reminder.
Amy reluctantly stood up and said to Mr. Pingshan, "Mr. Pingshan, let me know if you need anything."
This time, Mr. Pingshan couldn't even be bothered to respond to her.
Amy turned and walked over to Rona Muir. "President Gu, I haven't properly thanked you yet for helping convince Mr. Pingshan to let me come back with him. That's why I told Lin Feng we had to find a way to thank you. So while we're out having fun, please don't be shy! Lin Feng made all those plans just to thank you!"
Rona Muir finally relaxed a little.
I knew it!
A guy who's already dating someone, but keeps trying to please another woman—something about that just doesn't feel right.
Turns out it was just to thank her for bringing Amy along.

That does make sense.
"It was nothing," Rona Muir nodded. "No need to be so polite."
"It may have been nothing to you, President Gu, but to me, it meant a lot," Amy said softly. "Maybe I'm just not cut out to be a proper agent. After all these years, I'm still just a base support staff. I have no choice—I have to think about my future, right? I never expected to be so lucky as to meet you and your husband. And I never thought Lin Feng would go out of his way to invite you both on vacation just to thank you for helping me."
"Yeah, he's really good to you," Rona Muir nodded. "So, when do you plan to tell him your real identity?"
"I'll tell him later," Amy brushed it off. "You know what Mr. Hans is like. If outsiders find out about my identity, I'm afraid..."
Rona Muir instantly understood. "I get it."
"Thanks for understanding." Amy glanced at Mr. Pingshan in the distance and quietly asked, "President Gu, Mr. Pingshan seems really busy lately. Still, he says family is important, so no matter how busy or late it gets, he insists on going home. But when he comes to work, I always see dark circles under his eyes. As his assistant, I can't help but feel sorry for him."
Rona Muir responded calmly, "Oh?"
"Ah, sorry, I didn't mean to stir things up between you two," Amy said, covering her mouth as if she'd said something wrong. "I just think, while he's writing his thesis, maybe letting Mr. Pingshan stay at the lab would speed things up! If he finishes sooner, he can rest sooner and go home earlier. I heard you two are both so busy you barely have time for your kid. Mr. Pingshan cares about family, so I bet he wants to bring the little prince home as soon as possible. President Gu, I've only said this because we've met a few times, so I dared to bring it up. I wanted to say it for a while, but never found the right moment. I was worried you'd misunderstand my relationship with Mr. Pingshan. Now that I've brought Lin Feng along, I'm not worried about that anymore."
After she finished, Amy looked at Rona Muir with a pitiful expression. "I'll be selfish for a moment—I really hope Mr. Pingshan finishes his thesis soon, so I can get a few more days off and spend some quality time with my boyfriend."
That last sentence completely put Rona Muir's doubts to rest.
Rona Muir relaxed and said, "Alright, you said all that for our sake. I appreciate it. Amy, since you've chosen to be with Lin Feng and live a normal life, cherish it. If Mr. Hans ever gives you trouble, I'll speak up for you."
A hint of joy flashed in Amy's eyes. "Thank you, President Gu."
While they were talking, the car arrived in D City.
They also arrived at the hotel Lin Feng had booked.
When they got there, Rona Muir couldn't bring herself to refuse Lin Feng's help with booking the hotel.
Standing by the hotel window, you could see vast fields in the distance. It was harvest season, and looking out over the crops gave a special sense of accomplishment and beauty.
Lin Feng acted as if Rona Muir had never tried to refuse his help. He showed his booking info and quickly picked out a room with a great view for her.
When Rona Muir and Mr. Pingshan entered their room, she happened to see the view outside and couldn't help but praise, "It's truly beautiful!"
For once, Mr. Pingshan agreed and hugged Rona Muir around the waist. "It really is beautiful. Looks like they put a lot of thought into this."
Rona Muir said, "They worked so hard on the guide because they hope I'll help Amy get out from under Hans's control. Maybe I'll have to help them someday."
Mr. Pingshan nodded indifferently.
To Mr. Pingshan, these things didn't matter much.
In the next room, Amy said to Lin Feng, "I've already made up for this operation for you. Only by making Rona Muir believe we're being so attentive to get her help will she truly accept it."
"Help? What help?" Lin Feng looked at Amy in confusion.
"That's my business, so don't ask." Amy said coldly. "Now that everyone's here, it's up to us! This time, I have to make sure they split up!"
