Fuming with Anger

"Yeah, I heard that a real princess is the epitome of grace and virtue. But look at this one—tsk tsk, just look at her, like some shrew!" Su Li pointed at Princess Mingyu with a finger, full of disdain.

Princess Mingyu immediately fumed with anger, steam practically rising from her head, but Su Li had her by the nose. She quickly looked down at herself and said to Lvl Luo, "Lvl Luo, where am I not graceful and virtuous? How do I look like a shrew?!"

Because she was so angry, Princess Mingyu’s voice was filled with fury and quite loud, which made Lvl Luo tremble, her face turning pale, too scared to speak.

Seeing Lvl Luo’s unhelpful look, Princess Mingyu pinched her arm in frustration: "You usually seem so clever, but when trouble comes, you’re as dumb as a goose. What good are you!"

"Tsk tsk, Bai Lu, look at her, she’s totally exposed!" Su Li stared at Princess Mingyu like watching a monkey show, laughing so hard her stomach hurt. "She just said she’s graceful and virtuous, yet she’s cursing and pinching a little girl, hahaha!"

Bai Lu joined in mocking Princess Mingyu: "Exactly! I can’t see a single bit of princess behavior in her."

Su Li laughed, "Ah, these bandits nowadays really have no brains. If you want to play princess, at least put some effort into imitating the real princess’s demeanor. Thinking that just by looking a bit like a scruffy shrew you can be a princess? If she’s a princess, then the sows in our backyard pigpen must be fairies!"

After finishing, Su Li and her servant Bai Lu huddled together, laughing heartily.

The two laughed and kept poking and prodding at Princess Mingyu, laughing uncontrollably.

Princess Mingyu had been the apple of the Chu Emperor’s eye since childhood, spoiled and used to getting her way. She had never been mocked like this before, and was so angry and flustered she almost cried, stomping her feet.

She looked down all around herself in a panic, trying to find something to prove her identity.

Su Li saw Princess Mingyu frantically searching for something to prove her identity and silently mocked the foolish princess—truly brainless, digging a hole only to jump right in, stupid to the extreme.

"This is my jade pendant, bearing the mark of the Chu royal family, which can prove my identity! You two village women, kneel down at once!" Princess Mingyu held the jade pendant close to Su Li's face for her to see.

Unexpectedly, Su Li pulled Bai Lu back two steps, as if avoiding a plague, and said to Bai Lu, "Bai Lu, look, this is a new scam trick! She says the jade pendant has the mark of the Chu royal family, but neither of us village girls have ever seen it, so who knows if it's real or fake. I bet her next move will be to accidentally slip and break the pendant, then accuse us of damaging royal property and demand compensation."

Bai Lu clapped her hands, full of admiration, and said, "Madam, you’re really clever, seeing through the scam in an instant! Let’s keep our distance and not let her get close. We absolutely can’t let the scammer succeed."

Su Li and Bai Lu spoke as they took a few more steps back, unknowingly retreating all the way to the doorway.

"You two! Ignorant fools!" Princess Mingyu screamed in frustration, waving her arms wildly. In her flustered state, she accidentally dropped the jade pendant on the ground, shattering it.

"Ah, my jade pendant is broken! This was a gift from my father, the Emperor. What am I going to do now!" Princess Mingyu panicked, hating Su Li and Bai Lu even more. If they hadn’t provoked her, she wouldn’t have accidentally broken the Emperor’s gift!
