Breakthrough into the Wormhole Space: Strategy and Counterstrategy
Twenty-five days later—no more, no less.
To keep the public from freaking out and causing who knows what kind of chaos, the ultimate mission was kept totally secret. Even the media was locked down tight. Except for a few super-sniffing, god-tier reporters, nobody knew that today was the day of a planet-saving operation.
Deep beneath the Pacific, at the bottom of the Mariana Trench, a glowing, freaky ring was flashing with bizarre energy. It looked just like one of those portals to Outland from World of Warcraft—except this one was the source of the Kaiju invasion: the space-time wormhole.
Around the wormhole, more than ten 6th Generation Mecha Hunters and twenty-plus old-school mechas were scattered near and far. Every Mecha Hunter on Earth was here. Under the crushing water pressure, these mechs just stood there, silent and suffocatingly tense.
"Alright, you all know the battle plan. The vanguard will take the Temporal Base Station into the wormhole—once it's deployed, we’ll have two-way comms. Every bit of info has to go through the base station, so you folks absolutely have to keep it safe." Kost was on-site, piloting his own mech and calling the shots. He and Mark Long are the two legendary heroes of the old school—both can solo a 2nd Gen Mecha and have made quite the name for themselves.
For this life-or-death battle, Kost was back in the pilot’s seat, showing he was ready to win—or die trying.
Behind the mechas was something that looked like a lunar landing module—that’s the so-called Temporal Base Station. This thing’s so high-tech it needs scientists to operate it. Built in a mad rush, it’s got zero combat or mobility. The job was so risky that Dr. Octopus volunteered to take it on.
In the first squad entering the wormhole: King Kong, Blue Wolf, Dr. Octopus, plus Jasper Xiao and Li Yuncong—both specially reassigned by Yang Qi. Every known Chosen One except Xu Peng was here. Xu Peng, as chief commander, was at HQ overseeing the whole battle.
Maybe it was fate, maybe just coincidence, but every Chosen One was tangled up in this final showdown.
"Alright, the wormhole’s space-time pulse is on point—looks like the other side is firing up the gate. Now’s our chance!" Dr. Jacob roared on the comm channel, making every mech shudder. The swirling, hazy wormhole entrance started to ripple, the light getting brighter and brighter. Fist King stepped forward, followed by five other mechas.
