Sea Between Two Realms

12/19/2025

Another half year passed, and Ethan North sped up his pace even further. Just as he was about to rush into the Celestial Beyond, a sudden sense of foreboding welled up inside him.

If Joe Di was in the Celestial Beyond, they could join forces. But what if Joe Di wasn’t there? If Joe Di was absent and he lured this strange figure into the Celestial Beyond, it could spell even greater disaster. In fact, Joe Di was very likely not present—he had sent at least a dozen messages to Joe Di, but not a single reply had come back.

Awakened to the danger, Ethan North immediately made a decision: he could not go to the Celestial Beyond. At least, not until he received a response from Joe Di.

......

Bang! The final wisp of Dao intent bearing the Commerce Guild’s resonance was seized by Joe Di and, under the Cosmic Flame, was reduced to nothingness.

Joe Di let out a sigh of relief. Only now did the Creation Brush in his hand truly belong to him. Though he hadn’t fully refined it yet, at most it would take another year or two.

Once the Creation Brush was fully refined, he would be able to completely deduce the Genesis Opening Incantation.

Joe Di stood up. Nearly a century had passed since he entered, and Bolt still hadn’t sent any news. Although Nora Xiu was safe, he still needed to find the Duality Blossom as soon as possible.

“Bolt, what are you doing?” Joe Di discovered that Bolt was frantically driving the Voidmount skyship back and forth through the Realmrift. Even at his speed, it would be nearly impossible to spot the Duality Blossom this way.

Seeing Joe Di emerge, Bolt’s timid voice echoed, “Big Brother, a year ago I saw a guy who claimed to know where the Duality Blossom was. But he couldn’t pick it alone—he wanted to team up with me.”

As he spoke, Joe Di was already sizing up the man before him. In Joe Di’s mind, cultivators who lived long-term in the Realmrift were often gaunt and thin. Yet this fellow was tall and burly. If he’d had a full beard, he would have looked like a fierce warrior—but instead, he sported a bristly moustache. He was none other than Bristlebeard.

“Didn’t expect that big bird to have a master. Fine, you can tag along. But let’s be clear—if we find more than two pairs of Duality Blossoms, we split them evenly.” Bristlebeard’s voice was oddly sharp.

Joe Di replied calmly, “As long as there are more than two pairs of Duality Blossoms, splitting them is fine. Lead the way.”

“Alright.” Bristlebeard uttered a single word before charging ahead once more.

Joe Di didn’t even use his Ruleflight technique; he simply relied on his divine sense to keep pace effortlessly behind Bristlebeard.

Soon, Joe Di noticed Bristlebeard’s speed was increasing. In the end, Joe Di had to push his divine sense technique to its limit just to keep up. Clearly, when Bolt had followed Bristlebeard earlier, it wasn’t because their speeds were similar—Bristelebeard simply hadn’t been going all out.

Sensing that Joe Di’s speed matched his own, Bristlebeard was astonished and swept Joe Di with his divine sense. His movement technique was a legacy from ancient times, and yet this unknown cultivator could keep up—and even possessed the Void Mountain. Where had this fellow come from?

In the Realmrift, using movement techniques required more than skill. Here, one faced all manner of cyclonic winds, void blades, spatial dislocations, and rifts. A single misstep could leave nothing but shattered bones.

Bristelebeard realized that if he unleashed his maximum speed, Joe Di would surely fall behind. He held back, worried that Joe Di might flee at the first sign of trouble.

After less than a month, Bristlebeard finally stopped. He pointed ahead and said to Joe Di, “This is the Unfixed Sea. It may seem strange, but I’m telling you—the depths of Unfixed Sea hide a Divine Herb Garden. Someone planted Duality Blossoms there, and there’s definitely more than one.”

Joe Di stared in astonishment at the sea before him. What surprised him wasn’t that there was a Divine Herb Garden with Duality Blossoms hidden in the depths—it was that there was truly a sea within the Realmrift.

The Unfixed Sea even had waves, but unlike ordinary seas, these waves followed no rules. Sometimes they formed whirlpools, sometimes explosive sprays, and their directions were utterly unpredictable.

“How could a sea form here?” Joe Di voiced his confusion.

Bristlebeard chuckled, “It’s simple. After the great battle, countless powerful cultivators hid themselves in the Realmrift. With a wave of their hand, they could shape their own cosmic laws. It’s not strange for mountains and rivers to appear in a place like this.”

“What do you mean?” Joe Di frowned at Bristlebeard.

Seeing Joe Di’s confusion, Bristlebeard explained, “During that kind of war, any cultivator at the Unity Realm would be swept into the conflict. But there were some who didn’t want to be cannon fodder or fight for others—they just wanted to escape. Yet in that universe, no Unity Realm cultivator could truly escape the battlefield.

So, many ended up here in the Realmrift. In fact, some interrealm rifts really do allow escape from the war. This place is one of them. After the battle, the Dao resonance of war never touched this region. But places like this—where you can hide from the war—are easy to enter, but hard to leave. Many who came in never made it out. All they could do was build their own worlds and pass the time with trivial pursuits.

Joe Di’s heart skipped a beat. Could he be trapped here too? That seemed unlikely—the Azure Lotus Saint was no ordinary person. The techniques she taught him surely weren’t one-way.

(That’s all for today’s update. Good night, friends!)
