Heaven-and-Hell Contract

At this moment, Ryan Ling noticed that the Primeval Heavenwood seemed to be undergoing a strange mutation—maybe because his own power had just increased again. Whatever the reason, the tree was growing at a frenzied rate, and both its branches and trunk were sprouting huge spikes, sharp as a porcupine's quills.

It was those razor-sharp spikes that just helped Ryan dodge a deadly crisis!

"Tell me, what exactly is that thing? If you don't answer, I'll kill you right now!" The Saint Immortal was clearly losing it, shouting furiously—obviously terrified of Ryan's Primeval Heavenwood.

Ryan had already been on the verge of despair, practically waiting for death—but suddenly everything flipped, and hope appeared. No matter what, the Saint Immortal was clearly afraid of Primeval Heavenwood; maybe he could use that to bargain and survive!

The moment the Saint Immortal finished, Ryan immediately shouted, "Don't come any closer! You'd better not try anything stupid, or you'll regret it big time! I've got a divine artifact in my hand!"

Right now, all Ryan could do was bluff—he wasn't sure how strong Primeval Heavenwood really was, so he had to play mind games!

As soon as he said that, the Saint Immortal still looked worried and shouted, "Kid, what exactly do you want?"

"Simple. Just let us go, and we're done here—how about it?" Ryan blurted out.

"Fine, I agree. I'll let you go right now!" the Saint Immortal said instantly.

Hearing that, not only Ryan but the woman beside him was shocked—neither of them had expected they'd actually get a way out!

The moment the Saint Immortal finished speaking, the gate between the tombs swung wide open.

Ryan didn’t hesitate for a second—he grabbed the woman’s hand and rushed to get out of there.

But just as their feet crossed the threshold, the Saint Immortal behind them suddenly let out a cold laugh.

"You think you can just walk out of here? No way! You think I'm an idiot? Like I'd actually believe you've got a top-tier divine artifact—get back here!" Obviously, the Saint Immortal wasn't so easy to fool. As soon as he finished, he lunged at Ryan, looking like he wanted to kill him on the spot.

Ryan had been bluffing the whole time, and now that the Saint Immortal wasn’t buying it, he didn’t hesitate—he grabbed the woman’s hand and bolted. The gate was still open, so they still had a shot at escaping. But just as they tried to run, the Saint Immortal unleashed a burst of power that instantly locked onto Ryan’s legs.

There was no way Ryan could resist the Saint Immortal’s grip—he was yanked off his feet in an instant, and the woman was even worse off, getting dragged into the air by her legs with zero chance to fight back!

Right now, things were as dangerous as they could get. Ryan didn’t hesitate for even a second—he had no other options except to rely on Primeval Heavenwood. He hurled the Heavenwood out, and the moment it appeared, the whole vibe in the tomb changed. Where everything had been saturated with Saint Immortal qi, now all that power vanished, replaced by Primeval Heavenwood’s aura, like the tree had swallowed up every trace of the Saint’s energy!

It was almost unbelievable—totally mind-blowing!

And what was even crazier, Primeval Heavenwood instantly rooted itself in the Heaven Tier tomb, then started growing at breakneck speed. Within just a few blinks, the whole tree had nearly burst the tomb wide open!

"Wh-what the hell? Is this—could it really be—?" The Saint Immortal was totally stunned. He seemed to recognize Primeval Heavenwood, and the second he saw it, his face twisted in terror!

Ryan was a little stunned too, but he actually knew quite a bit about Heavenwood. Suddenly, he realized the environment here was perfect for its growth—like this soil was meant for Primeval Heavenwood, maybe even the original spot where it or one of its branches had been planted. No wonder it worked so well, and no wonder the Saint Immortal was so terrified.

"Seriously, this is unreal!" Even the woman beside him was awestruck, glancing at Ryan with newfound admiration.

Just moments ago, the Saint Immortal had been all bravado, but now he looked utterly deflated—like he was born with a fear of Primeval Heavenwood.

Now, Primeval Heavenwood’s roots stretched toward him all on their own—wrapping around the Saint Immortal. Surrounded like this, he was totally helpless, like he’d run into his natural enemy!

"Hell yeah, we might actually make it out alive!" Ryan got excited seeing this. The Saint Immortal was strong, sure, but he had a weak spot—and that weak spot was Primeval Heavenwood!

"Yeah!" The woman nodded, her heart pounding with excitement. After coming so close to death, her feelings for Ryan had only deepened, and her gaze was now charged with serious heat.

"Primeval Heavenwood, don’t hold back—wrap him up, all the way!" Ryan shouted, now that he had the upper hand. He wasn’t hesitating for a second.

Of course, Primeval Heavenwood responded immediately, sending all its roots surging out and wrapping the Saint Immortal up from head to toe.

That’s when Ryan finally realized—the Saint Immortal wasn’t scared of the leaves or branches, but of the spikes. More precisely, it was the venom dripping from those spikes. That venom could corrode his Saint body and disrupt his Saint qi, which was even worse than dying—no wonder he was scared out of his wits!

"Fine, I give up! You can go—I'll let you leave right now!" The Saint Immortal shouted, so freaked out he didn’t care about his dignity at all.

But Ryan had no intention of leaving now—he had the advantage, and this was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. If he could take down the Saint Immortal, it’d be a game-changer: with his help, Ryan could sweep War City, crush other cities, maybe even take on Heaven-Earth Sect without fear!

So Ryan called out, "Senior, if you'd let me go earlier, I'd have left. But now that you're letting me go, there's no way I'm leaving!"

"What do you mean by that?" The Saint Immortal cried out in panic.

Ryan quickly explained, "Relax, I’m not going to do anything crazy. I just need your help in the future—if I ever need anything, I hope you'll show up and help me out!"

"What? You want me to be your servant? You think a Saint Immortal would stoop to that? Are you out of your mind?" The Saint Immortal shouted, obviously refusing.

Ryan wasn’t bothered at all. He just gave a cold smile and said, "Suit yourself. I’m not forcing you—but if you end up getting poisoned, don’t blame me. We’ll just leave now, and you can figure it out yourself!"

"Wait, don’t go! Fine, I agree—we’ll sign a Heaven-and-Hell Contract right now…"
