After dropping off Yuna Young,
Evan Lin was riding solo, pedal slammed to the floor. He used his qi force to clear the way—anything in his path got blasted aside without a second thought. Honestly, it was like driving in a video game, but with real superpowers.
At one point, he hit 280 kilometers per hour. The engine was howling like some wild beast let loose.
Evan lounged in the driver’s seat, one hand propping up his head, the other on the wheel. The car tore down the highway like lightning—total speed demon vibes.
He blew past car after car, leaving everyone eating his dust.
Normally, the trip from Harborview City to the Jinnan Miracle Hand Sect would take over ten hours. Evan shaved it down to eight—thanks to his crazy driving and qi hacks.
He pulled up outside the Miracle Hand Sect, parking in the open lot. Time to stretch his legs.
With the road too rough for cars, Evan hopped out and started walking. No sweat—he’d done way crazier stuff before.
Even before he got close, Evan caught whiffs of medicinal aroma drifting through the air. Damn, the place was starting to smell like an alchemy lab!
“This used to be just another random spot, but after I hit it with formation after formation, the whole area’s got the vibe of a legit pill-refining site. Give it a few years, and we’ll be cooking up some real immortal-grade stuff.”
Evan stood outside, checking out the scene. Not bad—this place was leveling up fast.
Alchemy sites aren’t born, they’re raised. Evan had schooled the alchemists here on his pill-refining mental method, dropped a bunch of fire arrays, and now everyone was grinding pills day in, day out.
Sure, most of them were cooking up Nourishing Spirit Pills and Youth-Preserving Beauty Pills—nothing too fancy—but the medicinal vibes here were way stronger than anywhere else.
Back on the Immortal Martial Continent, those legendary pill-refining hangouts only got famous after a thousand years of non-stop grinding.
Even without the fire arrays, Miracle Hand Sect was already way more pill-friendly than anywhere else. Talk about a glow-up.
Evan headed inside. He barely walked a few steps before Warren Wu popped up by the gate, looking eager.
"Young Lord, you finally showed!"
Warren’s face lit up when he spotted Evan. He rushed over, practically bouncing.
Compared to before, Warren looked way healthier and younger. "I've got the pills ready—been waiting for you to roll up."
"So, how long are you sticking around this time, Young Lord?"
Warren’s eyes were practically shining with respect as he checked out Evan. Dude was basically legendary now.
"Not much time. Just dropping in."
Evan shook his head, glancing at the Miracle Hand Pavilion nearby. Place looked way more epic than before.
The Miracle Hand Pavilion was practically glowing, flames flickering all around. Pill fragrance wafted everywhere, and even from a distance, the vibe was straight-up refreshing.
“We’ve got five hundred alchemists who can whip up Nourishing Spirit Pills now. I’m planning to scout out a fresh batch of talent soon and level them up.”
With your Heart Sutra of the Pill Master, training newbies is way easier. And with the Pavilion’s formation boosts, everyone’s pill skills are leveling up fast.
Warren glanced at the Pavilion, looking pretty sentimental. Couldn’t blame him—the place was a whole new world now.
Back then, Warren thought Miracle Hand Sect’s alchemists were hot stuff. But now, looking back, their skills were honestly kinda trash.
"Young Lord!"
Not far away, Celine Lin and Alex Fu strolled out of the Pavilion, heading over with chill vibes.
Celine Lin had a big, friendly grin on her face as she looked at Evan. Total sunshine vibes. Alex Fu, meanwhile, just chilled on the side, poker-faced as usual.
"These two have been leveling up their pill skills fastest. Check it—one Nourishing Spirit Pill is Alex’s handiwork, the other’s Celine’s," Warren bragged.
Warren talked as he fished two pills out of his sleeve. Classic sect master flex.
Both Nourishing Spirit Pills looked and smelled way better than what the other alchemists could manage. Superior stats all around.
"Honestly, it’s all thanks to Young Lord’s Pill Master Heart Sutra and the Miracle Hand Sect’s fire formation. Without those, we’d still be scrubs," Celine admitted.
Celine flashed a sly grin off to the side. Girl knew how to show off.
"Alchemists always level up way slower than martial artists. It’s not just about grit and patience—talent’s the real game-changer," Evan pointed out.
Evan nodded. "I won’t stick around long. You three, follow me—I’ll drop some pill-refining wisdom. How much you pick up? That’s on you."
With that, Evan headed for a quiet courtyard Warren had prepped.
Warren tagged along, practically buzzing with excitement.
Celine and Alex trailed behind. Celine was practically buzzing with excitement, while Alex just frowned, looking all hesitant and conflicted.
"You know Master Lin from Seacrest is a total legend when it comes to alchemy. Just a few pro tips from him and boom—instant power-up. So what’s your deal, not feeling it?"
Celine dropped her voice, glancing at Alex and purposely lagging behind so Master Lin and Warren wouldn’t catch the gossip.
"It’s not that I don’t want to go," Alex muttered.
Alex shook his head, still looking conflicted.
"So you’re feeling guilty, huh?" Celine teased.
Celine shot Alex a knowing look and grinned. "What, your conscience acting up?"
"You know your backstory. You were all about swallowing your pride, planning to tough it out and one day get back at Master Lin. But now you’re realizing he’s not actually a bad guy, huh?"
"He’s got the skills, but he never lords it over people or crosses the line. Cold, yeah, but never a jerk about it."
"Honestly, I’ve only ever met one master like him. The more you owe him, the harder it’ll be to go full villain later, right?"
Celine kept her voice low, still poking at Alex.
Alex’s frown deepened. He let out a cold snort but stayed quiet.
"Come on, seriously—wouldn’t it be smarter to just stick with Master Lin?" Celine pressed.
"Master Lin from Seacrest is honestly a good guy. All he wants is for us to refine pills, and he never forces us to do anything we don’t wanna do. Plus, he actually teaches us stuff. You couldn’t find a boss like that even if you tried," Celine said.
Before Alex could answer, Celine bounced ahead, catching up with the others.
Alex hesitated, sighed, and trudged after her, head down.
They made it to the courtyard.
It was super quiet all around.
Warren had picked this spot especially for Evan.
Evan sat down cross-legged. Warren hurried to bring out the stash of herbs he’d prepped.
Still the same ingredients for Nourishing Spirit Pills.
But there were a ton. Like, seriously, a mountain of herbs.
These herbs were way older and richer than before.
A pill furnace sat right in front of Evan.
"Time’s tight. I’ll only show and explain everything once. How much you pick up? That’s all on you," Evan said.
