Sowing Discord Again

Evan Chu learned that the two had discovered the truth and gave a bitter smile: "Luna, do you think I have any chance of killing both of them with my current strength?"

"Honestly, I can't say for sure. Didn't you just use the Unicorn Arm? How's your recovery going? If you can unleash Unicorn Arm, your Star-Cleave might be able to seriously injure both of them. But if they both use their domains the moment the fight starts, you'll be in real danger.

If they both deploy their domains at once, it's terrifying. One of them could withdraw his domain and attack you directly, while you'd be completely immobilized. A Second-Layer Venerable Martial domain is nothing like a First-Layer one—it's a whole different league. I think you'd better leave while you still can. Besides, you only have enough Chaos Dragon Force left for one more Star-Cleave." Luna said, a bit worried.

Evan was stumped for a moment. Luna's scenario was all too clear to him—if he really got locked down and couldn't move, he'd be in deep trouble. He wasn't even sure if his Starforge Body, Seventh Layer could withstand their attacks.

Just as Evan was struggling, Luna spoke up again: "Don't worry too much, Evan. I'm not exactly helpless either. If things get bad, I can help you deal with both of them—though it might get a little messy."

"Messy? What do you mean, Luna? Wait, are you saying you actually have the power to kill a Second-Layer Venerable Martial expert now?" Evan asked in shock.

"I can't guarantee it, but even if I can't kill them outright, I could at least severely injure them. Now that you've broken through to the Saint Martial Realm, my strength is back to about thirty percent of what it was—but I can only safely unleash a fraction of that here. That's not what worries me, though. What really concerns me is that if I use my true martial arts, it might catch the attention of the Imperial Palace. If they take me away, it’ll be hard for you to see me again." Luna said with a bitter smile.

Evan replied, "If that's the case, then forget it. I don't want you leaving me. Besides, once I master Windshift and Thundershift, I'll be able to restore your body. I'm willing to leave right now."

Luna gave a wry smile. "Too late. Those two are way too cunning—they’ve already flanked you from both sides. Looks like you won’t be able to leave even if you want to!"

Evan glanced over and saw that the Ghost Clan expert and the Shade Clan expert had appeared on either side of him. He had no idea when they'd gotten there.

But now that things had reached this point, all he could do was fight. Even if he had to go all out, he couldn’t let Luna be taken from him. He had to rely on himself.

Just as Evan steeled himself to battle both of them, Jade Chu’s voice rang in his ear: "Big brother, I heard everything you said! I can help you—how could you forget about Jade Chu?"

Evan didn’t take Jade Chu seriously. He thought she was just joking—these two were Venerable Martial experts, and even he wasn’t confident he could beat them. How could a little girl like Jade Chu stand a chance?

"Jade Chu, don’t mess around. These two are insanely strong—you’d be in danger. Just stay inside the storage ring!" Evan said.

Jade Chu didn’t answer, but Luna spoke up: "Evan, how could we forget about her? Jade Chu is a top-tier artifact spirit—her status is way above mine. I’m really only half an artifact spirit; she’s got a million years of cultivation and her own methods. Don’t underestimate her."

Evan realized this and asked Jade Chu, "So, what can you do to help? Are you planning to immobilize the enemy? If that’s your idea, forget it—I’m worried you’ll use up all your power and end up asleep again."

Jade Chu giggled, "Big brother, you’re seriously underestimating me! My attack power isn’t great right now, but my defense is at least as strong as yours. If those two trap you, you don’t need to worry—just focus on charging up your strongest attack. I’ll block their combined strike for you. With their level, they can’t hurt me at all unless they have immortal artifacts."

"Immortal artifacts? You know about immortal artifacts? So you actually know a lot about Luna’s world now? Can you really block their attacks?" Evan asked, half skeptical and half shocked.

"I don’t know why I suddenly know all this—before, I had no clue. But after I took human form, tons of information just popped into my head. Some of it’s still sealed, so I can’t access it yet, but I know it’s important. Trust me, big brother—I won’t mess things up." Jade Chu said.

Evan thought for a moment, then said, "Alright! When they attack, you come out and block for me. For now, just stay quiet in the storage ring so you don't draw any suspicion."

At that moment, the Ghost Clan expert and the Shade Clan expert stopped ten meters in front of Evan. Both unleashed their domains almost simultaneously, and Evan instantly felt like he was trapped in a vacuum—completely unable to move.

The Ghost Clan expert glared at Evan and said, "Boy, you dared to deceive me! Today, I won’t rest until I tear you to pieces!"

"Senior, what are you doing? How can you trust the Shade Clan’s side of the story? We’re both Ghost Clan—you know that for sure. I was the champion in the Wangtu City tournament, and I’m only at the Saint Martial Realm. How could I possibly destroy Wangtu City? Surely you can see the logic here. You’re being played by the enemy!" Evan said urgently, still trying to stir up conflict.

The Ghost Clan expert actually found Evan’s argument convincing and looked confused. But the Shade Clan expert snapped, "Kid, you’re way too vicious! You’re trying to pit us against each other so you can benefit? I’ll kill you myself!"

With that, he raised his staff and attacked Evan. Evan quickly shouted, "Senior, he’s trying to silence me! How can you listen to outsiders? Haven’t you avenged Wangtu City’s tragedy, or are you about to join forces with your enemy to finish me off?"

The Ghost Clan elder was startled by this and immediately flashed forward, swinging his staff to intercept the Shade Clan expert and stop his attack.

"Yang Tian, are you senile? That kid’s a smooth talker—how could you believe him so easily? I swear on my Shade Clan soul: if I was behind Wangtu City’s destruction, may I be obliterated on the spot!" the Shade Clan elder declared.

The Ghost Clan elder saw his peer—a fellow top-tier expert—forced to swear such an oath and had no choice but to believe him. "But the kid’s logic makes sense. Could someone else be involved? With his strength, he couldn’t possibly have done it, let alone killed the city lord and his men."

"I’m not sure about the details, but even if he’s not the culprit, he knows who is. I won’t let him go. Now that the grievance cloud has vanished, it’s obvious he destroyed it. If I don’t kill him, I’ll never be able to let this go!" the Shade Clan expert said.
