Where Is the Spell Array
"Liam Leshan, is that right?" Tanya Quinn asked, her expression frosty.
Liam Leshan remained calm and answered frankly, "Divine Lord, you know everything about me! I've never known who my mother is, not even bloodline-tracking spells could find her. As for what Lord Noctis said, I don't know if it's true or not."
Tanya Quinn frowned.
"Divine Lord, the auspicious hour is slipping away. Are you really going to miss it over just one word from him?" Liam Leshan looked at Tanya Quinn, his eyes full of sorrow.
"Divine Lord, we've already investigated Liam Leshan's background—he truly doesn't know who his birth mother is," the presiding Elder said. "Even if he really is the Scarlet Clan chief's son, it doesn't matter. The Scarlet Clan might be exiled, but they're still a Divine Clan! No matter what, that's better than..."
He glanced at Noctis, but didn't dare finish the sentence.
"That's right, Divine Lord!" another Elder chimed in. "Let's calm Noctis down first—finish the ceremony and deal with the rest later!"
Tanya Quinn thought for a moment, then nodded.
Liam Leshan waved his hand, and the iron-armored Divine Soldiers activated their chains, rushing at Noctis.
Noctis waved his hand, sending the Divine Soldiers flying—some coughing blood, some fainting, all utterly defeated.
Liam Leshan was shocked.
How could this be?
Where's the spell array?
Tanya Quinn knew Liam Leshan's skills well, so she was puzzled too. "What's going on?" she asked him.
Liam Leshan opened his Heaven's Eye and swept the hall. Suddenly, he noticed High God Felicity Quinn's youngest son had somehow wandered over to a Phoenix Totem relief on the wall, gouged out the phoenix's eye, and was showing off the bead to his playmates: "Look, there are little stars inside this bead, and they twinkle!"
He dashed over in a flash, trying to snatch the bead back.
But in front of Lord Noctis, the most powerful being in the Three Realms, what could he possibly do?
He didn't even know how it happened—Noctis grabbed him by the throat with one hand and slammed him to the ground like a dead dog. Liam's mouth gaped open as he struggled in agony.
"Noctis!" Tanya Quinn shouted angrily. "Let him go!"
"If you'd just listen to me, I wouldn't have to kill him," Noctis replied coolly.
The Elder was so angry his beard went crooked. "What exactly are you trying to say?"
"If Liam Leshan truly doesn't know who his mother is, then of course he's innocent!" Noctis said. "But what if he does know? What if Jenna Stormscar sent him here to plot for the Scarlet Clan?"
"We investigated him thoroughly before choosing him as Divine Lord's consort," the Elder said. "He grew up with the Leshan Clan Chief—he's never even seen his mother! There's no way what you're suggesting could be true!"
"Oh, shut up!" Noctis shot the Elder a sideways glare. "What did your investigation even find? You didn't even discover his mother is Jenna Stormscar—how dare you talk here? If I prove they're plotting, will you die to atone? Or are you actually their accomplice?"
"You—" The Elder pointed at Noctis, his finger trembling with rage. "Fine! Prove it, then. If he's really up to no good, I'll die to atone today! But if you can't prove it, you have to get out of the Southern Realm and never show your face again!"
"Deal!" Noctis said. "I've already found traces of his mother and erased the Reverse Bloodline Locator Spell. Anyone from the Phoenix Clan here, go ahead—use the Ancestral Locator Spell and find his mother!"
