Cassie Kofi Chases Cherry Miller to the Office
Since resistance is futile, just accept it.
After all, what is he without the Kerr Family?
If he can't even stand up to his own father, how could he possibly fight back himself?
Sam Shang kept repeating to himself.
At this moment, he had no idea that soon, he would risk his life to defy the grandmother who had ruled over him for twenty years.
All for the sake of one woman.
In the end, he walked the same path as his father.
For three days straight, Miss Casey bombarded Cherry Miller with phone calls. Cherry was so fed up that she gave all her work numbers to her assistant so they could deal with the calls.
Still, Miss Casey was pretty resourceful.
When she couldn’t reach anyone by phone, she showed up at the office to corner her.
And sure enough, Casey managed to corner her.
Cherry Miller watched as Casey stubbornly refused to leave, standing right in front of her. Rubbing her aching temples, Cherry glanced at the receptionist who had failed to stop Casey and said, "Alright, I get it. You can go back to work now."
"Yes, Assistant Miller," the receptionist replied, glaring at Casey resentfully. If it hadn’t been for that tall, burly man, how could she have failed to stop this woman?
This woman was really annoying. Everyone said Assistant Miller didn’t want to see her, but she still shamelessly rushed into the elevator.
Otherwise, if it had been another boss, she’d definitely have been blamed. A fine would be the least of it—she could even get fired!
Casey ignored the receptionist’s death glare and just stared straight at Cherry Miller, asking, "Why won’t you see me?"
Cherry Miller glanced at Casey and said, "Didn’t our talk fall apart? You accused me of sending someone to steal from you—don’t I have the right to draw a line and keep my distance?"
"You’re guilty!" Casey shouted.
"Miss Casey, this is the Yin Corporation’s headquarters. Are you sure you want to shout here?" Cherry Miller tilted her head slightly and said, "Friendly reminder: if your volume exceeds a certain level, security will throw you out. If you’re embarrassed, don’t blame me for not warning you."
"You!" Casey looked around and, sure enough, noticed people glancing their way.
Not wanting to make a scene, Casey lowered her voice and said, "Didn’t you say we’d compete fairly? So why didn’t you tell me Yin was back?"
"Miss Casey, your bag is gorgeous—isn’t it the latest limited edition from L&G?" Cherry Miller suddenly asked.
"Yeah, why? You want it? I’m telling you, this is a global limited edition—there are only five in the world…" Casey began to brag, but Cherry Miller cut her off.
"Didn’t we agree to compete fairly? Why did you buy the limited edition L&G and not tell me?" Cherry Miller said.
"Uh?" Casey was confused. "What does that have to do with Yin?"
"Why wouldn’t it matter?" Cherry Miller smiled. "If you dress up beautifully, you’ll catch his eye, right? We said we’d compete fairly, but you secretly bought a limited edition bag without telling me. Are you planning to get all dolled up so Ethan Yin notices you first? Isn’t that a bit much?"
"Uh…" Casey was at a loss for words.
Maybe Cherry Miller had a point?
Casey suddenly felt guilty. "Well, uh… I just forgot."
"What a coincidence. I forgot to tell you Ethan Yin was back too!" Cherry Miller smiled openly at Casey, perfectly at ease.
Teasing a naive girl was just too much fun.
Casey, who’d been so aggressive, instantly deflated and stammered, "Then… then let’s not do this anymore."
"Alright," Cherry Miller agreed with a smile.
Anyway, next time she could blame it on a new hairstyle, a new outfit, or new contacts—whatever.
Finding an excuse was just too easy.
"So, where’s Yin? Why haven’t I seen him?" Casey asked.
"Oh, funny you ask—I actually don’t know where he went today." Cherry Miller pointed to her badge. "I’m Yina Yin’s chief assistant, not responsible for the CEO’s whereabouts. You should ask Quaysen—he’s Ethan Yin’s chief assistant and knows exactly where Ethan is."
"So where’s Quaysen?" Casey asked.
Cherry Miller’s smile grew even brighter. "How would I know where Quaysen is? I’m not his assistant."
A few people passing by overheard their conversation and couldn’t help but cover their mouths, stifling laughter.
Where did this silly girl come from?
She actually asked such a dumb question.
Has the IQ of the CEO’s admirers dropped this low?
Just then, Howard strode over, clearly having overheard Cherry Miller and Casey’s conversation.
Howard was not pleased with Cherry Miller for teasing Casey, so he shot Cherry a fierce glare.
Cherry Miller couldn’t care less.
Howard couldn’t do anything to her anyway, so let him glare all he wants.
"Casey, I checked—Yin isn’t here today," Howard said to Casey. "He didn’t come in at all. But I heard he’ll be back for lunch. Most likely he’ll eat in the company cafeteria, so just wait for him there."
After saying that, Howard turned to Cherry Miller. "Miss Miller, your company’s cafeteria is open to outsiders, right?"
Cherry Miller nodded. "The basic cafeteria is open to the public. The mid-level and executive cafeterias are for Yin Corporation’s managers and executives only—they’re not open to outsiders."
Did they really think Ethan Yin, the big boss himself, would eat in the basic cafeteria?
Howard said to Casey, "Let’s wait in the cafeteria."
Casey finally perked up, snorted at Cherry Miller, and happily followed Howard to the cafeteria to lie in wait.
Cherry Miller just shook her head, speechless.

Let her do as she pleases.
At noon, Cherry Miller finished her work at the company and prepared to return to Sunset Manor.
There was still a group of young masters at Sunset Manor, whom she’d left up on the mountain under the pretense of planting flowers.
She was responsible for keeping an eye on them, making sure they didn’t sneak down the mountain.
But before she could even leave the building, two receptionists stopped her.
"Assistant Miller!" Receptionist Xiaotian hurried over, clasping her hands together. "I couldn’t stop that crazy woman today and got scolded by my supervisor. Thank goodness you spoke up for me, or I’d have lost my bonus. Please give me a chance—let me treat you to lunch as thanks!"
Cherry Miller smiled, straightened Xiaotian’s collar, and said, "It was nothing. Don’t worry about it."
"Come on, Assistant! Just say yes," Xiaotian pleaded cutely, resting her chin in her hands. "If I don’t return the favor, no one will want to hang out with me anymore."
Cherry Miller didn’t come to the office often, but she got along great with the girls there.
Sometimes, if she remembered unfinished work late at night, she’d call a receptionist, and no matter the weather, they’d come to open the door and make her coffee.
Especially Xiaotian, since she was actually the daughter of a mid-level manager and lived nearby.
Eight times out of ten, it was Xiaotian who came to open the door and help Cherry Miller.
In fact, Cherry Miller was closer to the receptionists than to the company’s middle managers.
Makes sense.
The first thing you see when you walk into the company is the front desk.
Cherry Miller and the receptionists were all young, so of course they clicked.
Plus, Cherry Miller wasn’t the bossy type, which is why the receptionists felt comfortable joking with her.
Cherry Miller had no choice but to laugh and say, "Alright, alright, I’ll give you a chance, okay? So, what are you treating me to? Just don’t spend half your salary on one meal, or you’ll never afford those figurines you love!"
"Hehe, as long as I get to eat with you, I don’t need to buy any figurines!" Xiaotian giggled.
Even though Xiaotian’s family was wealthy, her dad could eat in the mid-level cafeteria, but she could only go to the basic one.
Still, every cafeteria in Yin Corporation—basic, mid-level, or executive—was luxurious and comfortable, rivaling any five-star hotel.
So everyone preferred to eat at the company cafeteria rather than go out.
After all, the company had everything you could want—why go elsewhere?
So Cherry Miller let Xiaotian drag her off to eat in the basic cafeteria.
By the time they arrived, the cafeteria was already packed.
A lot of white-collar workers from nearby companies came here too. The vibe was so upscale, eating here really made you feel important.
There were even a few influencers here to check in and post online.
Clearly, Yin Corporation’s cafeteria was famous all over N City.
As soon as Cherry Miller walked in, she spotted Howard and Casey at the table closest to the door, with food piled high in front of them.
Howard ate quickly—he’d already polished off most of the food in no time.
Casey kept craning her neck to look outside, clearly not interested in eating.
When Cherry Miller came in, Casey immediately saw her too.
Seeing Cherry Miller, Casey snorted and turned her head away haughtily.
Obviously, Howard had told her something, and Casey realized Cherry Miller had run circles around her earlier.
Casey felt pretty embarrassed.
But she wasn’t about to admit it.
So she just acted all proud and ignored her.
Casey ignored Cherry Miller, and Cherry Miller couldn’t be bothered to pay her any attention either.
Xiaotian, on the other hand, shot Casey a nasty look. "Ugh, what’s with her? She’s just shameless, hanging around here and refusing to leave!"
Before Cherry Miller could respond, Casey exploded like a firecracker and shot to her feet. "Who are you talking about?"
"Whoever speaks up, that’s who I mean," Xiaotian replied, rolling her eyes. "Who do you think Assistant Miller is? You think you can just barge in without an appointment? Didn’t anyone teach you manners at home?"
