Jace Jia the City Lord’s Son

Evan Chu's shameless side caught Princess Ivy completely off guard. Especially when she glimpsed a certain part of him, her cheeks flushed and her heart raced. Before she could say a word, Evan scooped her up and, as expected, tossed her straight onto the bed.

What happened next was definitely not for children—the three of them battled in the room for ages. Evan repeatedly absorbed yin energy and, after converting it with his Pure Yang Qi, channeled it into the two girls several times, only stopping when both women were completely exhausted.

"Didn’t expect this ability to get even stronger. Maybe I need three women to fully unleash its essence. Looks like I’ll have to find a way to eat up Feifei soon—holding back like this is seriously torture!" Evan grumbled in frustration.

After absorbing the yin energy from the two girls, Evan found that his Chaos Dragon Force—which had been almost depleted—had now recovered more than half. It worked even better than absorbing Starstones. "Guess I’ll have to bring two women along in future battles, so I can restore my Chaos Dragon Force as fast as possible."

He could even come up with ideas like that—who knows how Ivy, Roxanne, and the others would react if they found out? Evan quickly calmed himself and started absorbing energy from Starstones, determined to fully restore his Chaos Dragon Force.

Half a day later, he stood up. There was a bathing area in the room, but this time he didn’t use Watershift—he just quietly sat in the bath. "Now that I’ve nearly got fifty Netherghost Violet Orchids, I have to get the Human King’s and Nether Monarch’s storage rings as soon as possible. Maybe by then I’ll have a hundred orchids. Even if Feiyu and the others don’t get any, we can still go back."

After thinking for a while, Evan quickly left the bathroom. Princess Ivy and Roxanne were still sound asleep, so he quietly slipped out the door, ready to check out Skyspear City. Since Doctor Yao said the experts here rival those of Nine-Shade City, he figured he’d let them see what the Nine-Shade City Prince Consort was really made of.

With Evan’s strength, it was easy to dodge the manor’s guards. In a flash, he was out on the streets of Skyspear City, which was just as bustling as he’d heard—crowded with carriages, packed with people, the whole place buzzing with activity.

Evan walked into a pretty decent restaurant, planning to listen in on what people here were talking about. That kind of intel would be really useful for him.

He picked a seat by the window, ordered a few side dishes and a pot of wine, and started drinking alone. The place was doing brisk business—at the moment, only one or two tables in the big hall were empty.

Evan had barely sat down when a familiar figure appeared. He just gave Sean Xiao a faint smile, and Sean walked straight over, not caring whether Evan welcomed him or not. He plopped himself down and grabbed the wine jug, gulping it like a beast.

Only after draining the jug in one go did Sean set it down and say, "Frostbane, you’re really something—drinking and not inviting me? Good thing I’m sharp enough to know you’d come to a restaurant, so I came looking."

"Sean, are you stalking me? Seriously? Since when did you get into that? I’m not interested in you, you know!" Evan laughed.

"That’s your hobby, not mine. I just figured you’d come to Skyspear City to listen for news. With all the chaos lately, there’s no way people wouldn’t be talking. Am I right or what?" Sean said.

"Fine, you win. Today you can drink as much as you want, you boozehound!" Evan grinned, then waved over the waiter. The guy rushed right over. "What can I get for you, sir?"

"Bring another set of dishes and chopsticks, a few more jugs of wine, and some of your best signature dishes!" Evan said.

"Now that’s what I call knowing my tastes! And you have to admit, the white liquor here in the Netherworld is something else. If you ever drink Ghost Clan wine, you’ll never forget it." Sean said.

"Of course I’ve had it—so bitter it’s hard to describe. Looks like you’ve tried it too, or you wouldn’t get it so well." Evan laughed, remembering how chilling that Ghost wine was back in Grimchart City.

Just then the waiter brought over the wine and dishes, set everything out, and said, "Please enjoy, gentlemen!" before turning to leave. Right now, the hottest topic in the restaurant was Nine-Shade City. Everyone seemed so mysterious about it that Evan and Sean couldn’t help but shake their heads.

"Did you hear? Nine-Shade City got wiped out—turned into ruins overnight. It’s terrifying. Nobody knows how the Shade Lord is doing now, and people are really worried!" said a middle-aged man at a nearby table. He was a human cultivator, and his strength had reached the Eighth Layer of the Saint Martial Realm.

"Who could possibly have the guts to destroy Nine-Shade City? That’s our Shade Clan’s royal capital! Something big is definitely coming." said a Shade cultivator, his strength about equal to that of the middle-aged man.

"Maybe Skyspear City is next. If someone takes over Skyspear, it’s basically the end for the Shade Clan. Anyone with that kind of power has to be a top expert from one of the other four races—just no one knows who yet."

"Exactly! I say we should leave Skyspear City as soon as possible. Otherwise, we might end up like Nine-Shade City—dead and gone." ...

Gossip swirled everywhere, but Evan and Sean didn’t pay it much attention. "Looks like this trip was a bust. None of this stuff is useful to us," Evan said.

Evan took a sip of wine, but Sean just laughed. "Frostbane, what’s the rush? Skyspear City’s got hidden dragons and crouching tigers—even Venerable Martial Fifth Layer experts. With news like this, something’s bound to happen. Just wait and see!"

No sooner had Sean finished speaking than a group of young men about Evan’s age walked into the restaurant. Judging by their clothes, they were young masters from some of Skyspear City’s most powerful families.

Evan was naturally put off by these clan heirs—most were arrogant playboys who loved to throw their weight around. He just glanced at them and went back to drinking, ignoring them completely.

The waiter saw the group come in and instantly rushed over, beaming. "Young Master Jia, please come in! There’s a private room upstairs reserved just for you, as always. Want to head up?"

The youth in white said, "I’m in a good mood today, so I won’t go to the private room. I want to stay in the main hall and enjoy happiness together with the common folk!"

The waiter was momentarily stunned, but another young master barked, "Why are you just standing there? Hurry up and bring wine and food! Don’t you know what it means to enjoy happiness with the people? Nine-Shade City’s gone, so now the Shade Clan belongs to Skyspear City. The clan chief’s throne will definitely fall to Young Master Jia—today we’re here to get a taste of that."

The waiter hurried off, leaving plenty of eyes in the restaurant fixed on the young master. Many started whispering about him.

"That’s Jace Jia, the City Lord’s only son. He loves bullying people and throwing his weight around, always relying on his father’s power to do whatever he wants. If he ever becomes City Lord, life for ordinary folks will get even worse," a middle-aged man whispered.
