Just like that, two highly skilled members of the 'Dragonblade Unit' found themselves playing cat and mouse with a bunch of pursuers in the tropical rainforest. The chase went in endless circles, and every so often, some unlucky chaser would get wiped out by their wild, over-the-top, and downright sadistic booby traps—seriously, these two could've starred in a jungle edition of "Home Alone!"
Jade Swann had just planted her last No.6 Stasis Bomb and bolted ahead at full speed. She zipped through the rainforest for a few hundred meters before hearing a boom behind her—yep, someone had tripped the bomb. Right now, aside from the top-secret files taped to her body, her only weapon was the SGS7 Tactical Knife clutched like her life depended on it. Up ahead, she spotted a bend in the river, its muddy waters barely peeking through the jungle weeds. Without a second thought, Jade Swann dashed straight for the river, hoping the python population was on vacation.
Pushing through a jungle’s worth of grass and shrubs, Jade Swann finally reached the river. It wasn’t very wide, but thanks to a recent downpour, the water rushed by in a muddy, caffeinated frenzy. Across the river was open woodland, and she could spot a rocky canyon in the distance—great, more places for danger to hide! After a quick mental coin flip, she waded in. Luckily, the water only came up to her chest. As she tiptoed ashore, a dark shadow suddenly shot out from the weeds, bringing a blast of earthy stench and lunging at her side like it was auditioning for a horror flick.
Jade Swann was always on high alert—she knew the rainforest was basically nature’s murder maze. Instinctively, she twisted her body and dodged to the side—"Whoosh!" The long shadow missed her, then coiled upright in the grass. Jade Swann took a closer look and felt her skin crawl—a monster python, mottled and thick as a bodybuilder’s thigh, at least ten meters long, was staring at her with creepy, blood-red eyes, tongue flicking like it was ready to order takeout. Clearly, this snake thought she was the special of the day.
"Hiss—hiss—" The jungle python flicked its tongue, then suddenly shuddered and shot toward Jade Swann with lightning speed. In a blink, it was right in front of her, jaws wide open, lunging at her like it was ready for a buffet.
Jade Swann rolled to the side, barely dodging the terrifying strike. But this python was sneakier than a reality show villain—it didn’t attack again right away. Instead, it whipped its long body around, tail lashing out like a steel whip, catching Jade Swann’s right foot just as she was getting up—"Crack!" The force sent her sprawling onto the grass, dignity nowhere to be found.
Before Jade Swann could even think about getting up, the python coiled its long body—"Whoosh!"—and wrapped her up like a human sushi roll. Its muscles squeezed her chest, binding her so tightly she could barely breathe, her bones feeling like they’d been crammed into a sardine can. On the edge of passing out, she realized this was the python’s signature move—if she didn’t break free soon, she’d be strangled and turned into snake chow. Not the heroic ending she had in mind.
Jade Swann steadied her breath, freed her right hand, and gripped the SGS7 Tactical Knife. She bent the serrated blade and slashed fiercely at the python’s body, slicing through its tough scales. The python recoiled in pain, loosening its grip just enough for Jade Swann to twist free and dive onto its back. Without bothering to stand, she drew on all her strength and, with a sharp cry, stabbed the knife deep into the snake—"Squelch!" Blood spurted, splashing her face. The blade pierced through and pinned the python to the ground. Not exactly spa day.
"Hiss—hiss—" The jungle python writhed in agony, its massive body thrashing like it was auditioning for a disaster movie. Jade Swann used the chaos to slip free from its deadly grip. The wounded python, unwilling to let its meal escape, twisted furiously, trying to chase her. But with part of its body pinned by the SGS7 Tactical Knife, every wriggle just sliced it deeper, sending foul-smelling blood pouring out. Jade couldn’t help but think: "Should’ve stuck to eating rats, buddy."
The python’s guts and organs spilled out as it thrashed in pain, decorating the ground in a way no interior designer would approve. Jade Swann took the chance to roll away, putting ten meters between herself and danger. She barely had time to catch her breath before the python, dragging its mangled body, broke free from the knife and charged at her again, eyes blazing with fury. Jade muttered, "Persistent, aren’t you?"
"Ugh—you stubborn snake! You won’t rest until you eat me, huh? Fine, let’s see how you like a taste of thunder!" Jade Swann snapped, her temper flaring. She crossed her hands, left arm clutching her right, thumb and pinky locked together, forming the Thunderstrike Seal. Channeling her inner energy, she launched into a dramatic incantation worthy of a blockbuster: "Wind, fire, thunder, lightning—let golden light appear! Shield the true one, gather a thousand rays, form the thunder, empower the heavens, reveal thunder’s form—break!" If this didn’t impress the local wildlife, nothing would.
Suddenly, thunder rumbled overhead, and a cloud crackling with blue lightning formed before Jade Swann. She pointed at the charging python—"Boom! Boom! Boom!"—several bolts of blue lightning shot out from the cloud, striking the giant snake dead-on. The thunderbolts blasted the python into the air, its huge head shattered by a direct hit, and its body was struck again and again by relentless lightning. Jade grinned, "Talk about electrifying dinner service!"
The savage jungle python was blasted ten meters away, rolling and writhing in the grass for several minutes before finally dying. A huge section of its body was scorched and blackened by the lightning—the Thunderbolt Incantation had literally cooked it! Jade Swann dusted herself off and smirked, "Next time, bring some seasoning!"
