Labyrinth Paths

"Who are you, really? Are you the one who called me here?"

I shouted loudly, drifting among the piles of jagged rocks, chasing the black figure ahead. He moved swiftly and lightly; I couldn't pass directly through the rocks and could only float above them, watching as the black figure sprinted below.

I've completely lost my sense of direction now. Even if I wanted to go back, I doubt I'd find Lan Yin and the others. But this guy ahead—maybe he knows something. I hurried after him.

Finally, I sped up and caught up to him. Two streams of Deathbane Aura burst out instantly. Suddenly, my aura wrapped around the figure, and I grabbed him. But I froze in shock. After landing, I saw a dark, shapeless mass before me. Aside from a raised chest, there was no sign it was human. Only a pair of golden-red eyes—cold and faceless, with braided hair.

I looked closely. In those golden-red eyes, there seemed to be something. Only now did I realize—they weren't just golden-red eyes. On the golden irises, tiny red characters were written. In the right eye, a 'mouth' character with a right stroke beneath it; in the left, a 'mouth' character with a left stroke beneath.

Strange—her appearance was bizarre. Suddenly, the Deathbane Aura I wrapped around her exploded with a bang, scattering into dust. Startled, I watched as she began to run again.

Such a peculiar power—the force that shattered my Deathbane Aura was unlike anything I'd felt before. It was truly strange. I kept chasing her, but now she slowed down, weaving deftly through the rocks, as if leading me somewhere.

I kept following her. Gradually, I noticed a large circular clearing ahead—something was there.

Suddenly, in a split second, she vanished. I stared around in shock, unable to find any trace of her. But then, I saw someone lying on the ground. As I approached, I realized—it was a ghost.

But the ghost before me was gravely wounded, its soul nearly dissipated. He wore clothes similar to mine—a hood, clutching his head. I walked over and turned the ghost over. Instantly, my eyes widened—it was Soren Black.

"Soren Black, what are you doing here?"

I called out softly, but there was no response. Only then did I notice Soren Black's chest was riddled with tiny holes, each one growing larger and devouring his ghost aura, eroding his ghost soul. He was extremely weak.

"I can break this curse, but you must infuse him with ghost aura. Otherwise, the moment the curse is lifted, his ghost soul will die."

I turned my head in shock—it was her, that cold, emotionless voice. I murmured an acknowledgment as she walked over slowly and crouched in front of Soren Black.

"Little girl, you were born here too, weren't you?"

Suddenly, the Yin Ghost spoke up, but seeing the girl beside me, she ignored her and gritted her teeth.

"Crush you."

As she spoke, Yin Ghost's hands filled with ghost aura. I shot her a glare.

"Can you just stay quiet?"

I saw the girl place both hands flat on Soren Black's chest. My ghost network had already located Soren Black's ghost soul—it was weak, about to disappear. Just then, the red symbols from her eyes flew out and merged onto the backs of her hands.
