Lucy Luan, What Are You Laughing At
Adrian Drake pointed at Ian Yan and teased, "Is it because Lucia Lu is so beautiful that you don't actually want your Yin Core back, but would rather keep Lucia Lu herself?"
Ian Yan's eyes went wide. "No, no, no... That's not it!"
"Hahaha! I'm just kidding, just kidding!" Adrian clapped Ian on the shoulder. "Here's the plan—after the next assessment, we'll get a day off. Let's find a reliable talisman specialist—like Gavin Yuan's Divine Attendant, he's a great Rune Master. We'll ask him for help tracking the culprit, how about it?"
Gavin Yuan is the Young Lord of the River Drake Clan.
"Alright, it's settled!" Everyone agreed on the plan.
Soon, it was time for the first big assessment.
The exam lasted half a day. They filled out three whole sheets, and the Celestial Emperor collected all the papers, letting everyone out early for the day.
Lucia Lu and her friends immediately got to work on Ian Yan's case, bringing the old note to Lord River Drake's Manor.
Gavin Yuan, who got along well with Adrian, agreed to help and had his Divine Attendant perform a tracking ritual with the note.
Snow Yuan heard about the whole thing and eagerly tagged along with them.
Of course, what Snow Yuan really cared about was Sean Shaw.
She was glued to his side, always finding excuses to keep the conversation going.
For example: "Brother Sean, it's our rest day tomorrow. Where are you going?"
"Brother Sean, let's go play at the Crystal Palace tomorrow, okay? Let's see who swims faster!"
"Brother Sean, say something to me, will you?!" She clung to Sean's arm, acting all familiar.
Sean Shaw instantly pulled his arm free, frowned, and said, "I have plans tomorrow."
"What plans?" Snow tried to get closer again.
Sean just walked away.
He went straight over to Lucia Lu, his whole vibe screaming 'keep away.'
Snow Yuan glanced at him, then at Lucia Lu, who was pressing her lips together to keep from laughing, and snapped, "Lucy Luan! What are you laughing at?"
Lucia Lu blinked. "Huh? Am I? Was I laughing?"
"You were totally laughing!"
"Oh... I didn't notice," Lucia said. "But what's wrong with laughing? Does Lord River Drake's Manor have a rule against it?"
"No! You..." Snow Yuan sputtered, at a loss for words.
Ryan Lu stepped up. "Miss Snow, my sister hasn't done anything to bother you, has she? Why do you keep losing your temper at her for no reason?" Ryan never let anyone bully his sisters.
It didn't matter if you were a god, an immortal, a man or a woman.
"Brother! Look at them—those Lu siblings always team up to bully me!" Snow Yuan ran to Gavin Yuan, whining for support.
But Gavin Yuan wasn't about to indulge her. He frowned and scolded, "Guests are guests! How are you treating our guests? Mind your manners!"
Snow Yuan pouted, looking utterly wronged.
...
Rune Masters really are a unique breed.
They can sense energy fluctuations that normal people can't even detect.
That old note—just a scrap of paper used by its original owner—was enough for him to lock onto the culprit through the faintest, most elusive connection.
And that person was right here at Drake Abyss.
Not just that—inside the Palace Guard Barracks itself.
The Divine Attendant couldn't enter the barracks, so Sean Shaw went to the Celestial Emperor to get a special pass and brought him inside.
Once inside, he headed straight for the residential zone and stopped at Block No. 32.
"Block 32... Who lives there?" Lucia Lu wondered aloud.
"We'll find out!" Ryan Lu strode up and knocked on the door.
The door opened, and out stepped Divine Lady Jenna Summers.
Everyone was stunned.
Especially Adrian, who looked absolutely shocked.
How could it be her?
Seeing the crowd—especially Ian Yan, plus a Rune Master holding a Rune Staff—Jenna Summers' face darkened. She demanded, "What are you all doing here?"
