After Taking Her Pulse, Lucy Luan Understands

"Jenna Summers, Divine Lady, it's rare for you to have a day off. We came to hang out—aren't you happy to see us?" Ryan Lu asked with a teasing grin.

Jenna's expression softened. "Sorry, I've got a few friends over right now, so I can't host you guys. Maybe next time!"

"Friends? Who exactly?" Ryan Lu squeezed past the doorway and barged right in.

"Hey! What do you think you're doing!" Jenna's face changed, and she suddenly hurled a blast of divine fire straight at Ryan Lu's back.

Lucia Lu’s eyes darkened; she teleported inside and blocked the divine fire.

At the same time, Ryan Lu was already casting a spell to search for people.

He used the Qilin Clan’s exclusive search spell—a few glowing points of light scattered to every corner, then returned.

He discovered there was no one else in the house.

"Where are your friends? Looks like it's just you in here!" He turned and stared at Jenna.

The rest of the group also entered through the front door.

Sean Shaw turned around and closed the door.

"Why did you all just barge into my place?" Jenna clutched her chest, looking frail and weak. "I'm not feeling well. Isn't it fine if I don't want guests?"

Lucia Lu took the Borrowed-Core Note from the Divine Attendant and held it up in front of Jenna. "Divine Lady Jenna, do you recognize this?"

"What's that supposed to be? I've never seen it before!" Jenna snapped, furious.

"You know about Ian Yan, right? He cultivated a Yin Core, but someone stole it from him. This is the note that thief left behind—and the Rune Master tracked it straight to you!"

Lucia Lu asked, "Divine Lady Jenna, did you take Ian Yan's Yin Core? Did you write this note?"

"Of course not!" Jenna denied flatly. "That handwriting isn't even mine!"

"Handwriting can be forged," Ryan Lu pointed out. "The Rune Master tracked the aura to you. Just tell the truth!"

"Who knows what kind of second-rate Rune Master he is! Probably made a mistake!" Jenna sneered at Gavin Yuan's Divine Attendant.

"My brother's Divine Attendant may not be the top Rune Master in the world, but he's absolutely one of the best—far from second-rate!" Snow Yuan retorted.

"Anyway, it wasn't me!" Jenna suddenly pointed at the signature. "Lucia Lu! It has your name on it! Are you just trying to frame me because someone exposed you?"

Lucia Lu stayed silent.

Her pupils suddenly turned into golden vertical slits as she focused on Jenna's heart.

At the same time, she grabbed Jenna's wrist to check her pulse.

Jenna's face changed dramatically. She tried to break free, but couldn't shake Lucia off.

After taking her pulse, Lucia Lu understood. "I knew it! Lian-Lian's ancient prescription could only save your life temporarily—it couldn't cure you completely. That heartfire-burned heart disease of yours was healed by Ian Yan's Yin Core, wasn't it?"

"Of course not!" Jenna finally broke free. "It was Saint Maiden Luna Lian who cured me!"

Luna Lian recalled, "At the time, her heartfire was raging and her life hung by a thread. I took a risk and used that ancient formula, even though its effects weren't fully verified."

"But that formula was missing a key Yin Core. Things were urgent, so I substituted another Nether-Yin item instead."

She survived, but she wasn't truly cured.

Later, she took the formula from me. After a while, she sent a thank-you gift, claiming my medicine gradually healed her."

Lucia Lu looked at Jenna. "So you didn't recover thanks to my sister's medicine—you only got better later! You stole Ian Yan's Yin Core to cure yourself, so why frame me for the theft?"
