Go Back and Wait for Me
Sean Shaw said nothing.
Just take Prince Asher Xiao into the Tribulation Storm Array, then have someone send his stuff back to Drake Abyss. That way, I can slip out of Drake Abyss.
He still didn't say a word.
Lily Bai stood on tiptoe and kissed his cheek: "Be good! Go back and wait for me."
Sean went completely stiff.
"Did you forget? My mother already passed down a hundred thousand years of cultivation to me," Lily said. "If I really run into mortal danger, I'll break the seal! If they think they can control me as easily as before, they're dreaming."
That was pretty convincing.
Sean finally gave in. He drew five or six Messenger Charms with his own blood in one breath and stuffed them into her hands.
"Why are you giving me so many Messenger Charms?" Lily asked, baffled.
"If you lose one, you'll have backups."
Lily Bai sighed and tucked them all away.
Suddenly, Sean frowned, glanced toward Drake Abyss, and said, "Someone's coming. I have to go."
He vanished in an instant.
Lily Bai vanished too, reappearing in the Royal Palace.
She'd just finished briefing her Father Emperor and Mother Empress when envoys from Drake Abyss arrived.
And it was the Azure Dragon Lord himself.
"Azure Dragon Lord." Lily Bai bowed, her face full of concern. "Young Master Drake was poisoned by Demonic Poison—how is he now?"
The Azure Dragon Lord's face was grim. "Lily Bai, do you know your crime?"
"Crime? What crime could a little immortal like me possibly have?" Lily Bai replied, all innocence.
"The Celestial Empress issued a decree: the White Clan was to destroy the fiend sealed under Heavenly Pool Mountain. You dared to defy her order and deceive Her Majesty?"
Lily Bai widened her eyes. "No way! I gave her the poison myself and watched her die with my own eyes! How is that defying orders?"
"The Qilin Divine Clan's soul-searching technique can tell if she's dead or alive. She didn't die," the Azure Dragon Lord said flatly.
"Huh?" Lily Bai blinked, stunned. "How could that be?"
The Azure Dragon Lord said, "The Celestial Empress's decree was clear: if she doesn't die, then you will—"
"Hey, hey, hey! Azure Dragon Lord, don't twist things!" Clarissa Summers said. "The original decree was: if she refused to drink, then we had to drink! Now she's drunk it, Little Fish has drunk it too—what more do you want?"
The Azure Dragon Lord's face was expressionless. "Lily Bai, come with me now. The Celestial Empress has summoned you for an audience."
"I'm going!" Clarissa Summers instantly shielded her daughter.
The Azure Dragon Lord said, "Why are you going? You weren't even at Heavenly Pool Mountain."
"Wasn't the decree issued to the whole White Clan, not just to Little Fish? Of course I can go!" Clarissa Summers retorted.
"Enough with the pointless arguing. Lily Bai, are you coming on your own, or do I have to drag you there myself?"
"Azure Dragon Lord—" Clarissa Summers started.
"Hey! Enough, Mother!" Lily Bai saw a thick cloud of killing intent over the Azure Dragon Lord's head and quickly stopped Clarissa. "Fine! I'll go with him! The Azure Dragon Lord is a dignified High God—he wouldn't bother bullying a little lower-realm immortal like me, right?"
Clarissa Summers shot the Azure Dragon Lord a sideways look. "Don't count on it!"
"Uh... Azure Dragon Lord, let me talk to my mother first—just a sec!" Lily Bai pulled Clarissa aside and sent her a sound transmission: "Mother, once I leave for Drake Abyss, contact Aunt Serena and Old Ancestor Bianca right away and go raise a storm at Celestial Palace!"
Clarissa frowned. "Will you be in danger?"
"Don't worry," Lily Bai said. "I'll go with him first, but move fast."
Clarissa Summers nodded.
So Lily Bai left with the Azure Dragon Lord.
On the way, Lily Bai put on her most concerned face again. "Azure Dragon Lord! Has Young Master Drake's Demonic Poison been cured yet?"
