From Arrogance to Deference

At Ian Song’s words, Vulcan Blaze couldn’t help letting out a gasp of shock. He immediately grabbed Ian’s identity token to inspect it. Sure enough, it was a Phoenix Heaven Church Core Disciple token—and all disciples of the Phoenix Two Lines traveled the world under that status.

So, this kid in front of him really might be a true Phoenix-Line disciple.

At the same time, Ian had just leveled a massive accusation—putting a heavy hat on Vulcan Blaze, whose face immediately turned ugly.

A deep sense of jealousy and frustration flashed through Vulcan Blaze’s eyes. Never mind a Phoenix-Line disciple—even a Phoenix Heaven Church Core Disciple was someone he didn’t dare kill lightly. Yet now, he’d almost forced a Phoenix-Line disciple to be his servant boy. If word of this reached the Phoenix-Line elders, he’d be in serious trouble!

Thinking this through, he even felt a murderous urge—if only he could smash that troublemaking Vulcan Pi into minced meat.

Just what kind of existence was the Phoenix Heaven Church?

Even if the Fire God Church, Witch God Church, and Prime One Church joined forces, they couldn’t match a tenth of its strength. The Phoenix Heaven Church had over a hundred Immortal elders.

As for the Phoenix Two Lines, while they didn’t hold direct authority, they were extraordinary and stood outside normal ranks—the true heirs of the Phoenix Heaven Church. Their disciples were even more precious than Core Disciples. But because the Two Lines kept a low profile, even when traveling, they used the Core Disciple identity, so few knew of their existence. Still, as the sect-suppressing Immortal of the Fire God Church, Vulcan Blaze was qualified to know these secrets.

With all this in mind, Vulcan Blaze made his decision in an instant. His figure flickered, landing on the ground, withdrawing his flames, and revealing the form of a genial middle-aged man.

“Young friend, I was far too rude just now. Please forgive my slip of the tongue!”

Vulcan Blaze wore a genial smile as he spoke, respectfully offering Ian Song's identity token with both hands.

"Huh...?"

Seeing this, Vulcan Pi's face changed drastically. He realized this kid's status in Phoenix Heaven Church was anything but ordinary. Still, he was a bit puzzled—just what kind of rank was a Phoenix-Line disciple?

"So, Senior, you’re not taking me as your tea-serving boy after all?"

Ian Song put away his identity token, asking with a playful smirk.

"How could I dare!"

Vulcan Blaze’s expression shifted, and he hurriedly said, "Little friend, best not to joke about things like that. I was just speaking carelessly before—please don’t take offense!"

"Carelessly? Is that all it was?" Ian Song’s face turned cold. "Do you really think a Phoenix-Line disciple is so easy to bully?"

At Ian’s words, a flash of menace appeared in Vulcan Blaze’s eyes, but it vanished in an instant. He forced a smile and said, "Don’t misunderstand, little friend! It was all my fault just now, and I sincerely apologize."

"An apology?"
