Afraid You Don’t Dare Take Me

Vulcan Kong realized that, despite his formidable spiritual sense, he simply couldn’t detect Ian Song’s location. Meanwhile, the blood rain drifting down from the sky wasn’t ordinary at all; each drop gave off a faint, sweet metallic scent. Even with his five senses sealed, that sweetness still seeped directly into his mind.

Faintly, Vulcan Kong sensed that something was off about that scent.

"Pfft!"

Suddenly, a figure appeared behind Vulcan Kong. Always on guard, he stabbed backward with his scarlet spear like lightning, instantly impaling the figure.

But in the next instant, another blood-red figure appeared at his left, swinging a sword at him.

Then a third blood-red figure appeared, then a fourth, a fifth, a sixth... In the blink of an eye, hundreds of blood-red figures surrounded Vulcan Kong, launching a frenzied assault from all directions.

Still, the power of a late Tribulation expert was no joke. Even faced with hundreds of blood-shadows besieging him, Vulcan Kong handled it with ease.

But gradually, a trace of blood-red appeared in his eyes. The more blood-shadows he killed, the deeper the crimson in his gaze became. Meanwhile, Ian Song appeared dozens of meters away, hovering in midair, his white robes fluttering. Strangely, Vulcan Kong didn’t even notice him—he just kept madly attacking the endless blood-red figures.

Because of his cultivation limit, Ian Song couldn’t fully unleash Blood-Soaked before breaking through to Combined-Body; he could only imitate the surface level, unable to show its true power.

But now, having reached Combined-Body, his cultivation had soared. When he cast Blood-Soaked again, he could finally reveal some of its true mysteries.

The sweet, metallic scent from the blood rain could directly cloud a cultivator’s mind, making their thoughts sluggish.

Those blood-red figures were condensed from the blood rain itself; the more you killed, the more muddled your mind became. So even though Ian Song openly appeared, the entranced Vulcan Kong couldn’t perceive him at all.

Vulcan Kong kept battling the blood-shadows, but they seemed endless—kill one, and another would appear.

The others had already retreated outside the range of the blood rain, and seeing this scene, they were all deeply shocked.

Especially the two other late Tribulation elders who had come with Vulcan Kong—the fear in their eyes only grew.

The Primordial Spirit of a late Tribulation expert is said to be tempered to perfection; even the world’s strongest charm spells shouldn’t be able to confuse them. But looking at Vulcan Kong now, he was clearly in a dazed, muddled state.

For a moment, everyone felt an intense taboo toward that blood rain.

Time slowly passed. Vulcan Kong sank deeper into the frenzy, burning through his own zhenyuan with reckless abandon. However, the zhenyuan of a late Tribulation expert was so vast that even months of slaughter wouldn’t exhaust it.

Suddenly, Ian Song’s figure flickered and appeared right beside Vulcan Kong.

Godpiercer!

"Pfft!"

With a flash of sword light, Vulcan Kong’s abdomen was pierced by a sword, and a violent surge of sword qi exploded inside him, rampaging through his body.

The pain snapped Vulcan Kong out of his daze for a moment.

But his eyes were still wild. Suddenly, the scarlet sword in his hand burst with dazzling light and swept out in a wide arc, shattering all the blood-red figures around him.

Godpiercer!!

Ian Song struck again, this time stabbing his sword straight through Vulcan Kong’s right arm.

With his reactions dulled—worse than even a mid Tribulation expert—he simply couldn’t block such a ghostly sword move as Godpiercer.

Ian Song kept unleashing Godpiercer again and again, leaving several horrific wounds on Vulcan Kong.

Vulcan Kong roared furiously, but no matter what he did, he couldn’t touch Ian Song.

“This is bad—Senior Brother Kong is in danger!”

One of the late Tribulation experts watching the fight spoke with a dark expression.

“Should we step in to help?” asked another late Tribulation expert.

“Not yet. That youth hasn’t gone for the kill. But at this rate, Senior Brother Kong’s defeat is already certain!” The first one shook his head regretfully. With his mind clouded, Vulcan Kong couldn’t use most of his divine abilities or secret arts. From the start, he’d fallen right into Ian Song’s trap.

“How humiliating!”

Just then, a blazing red figure appeared out of nowhere in midair. With a single downward gesture, the blood-rain world Ian Song had created collapsed in an instant.

At the same time, the figure pointed a finger, sending a golden light into Vulcan Kong’s body. Instantly, his clouded mind cleared, and even his wounds healed at a shocking speed.

“Greetings, Eldest Senior Brother!” Vulcan Kong bowed deeply, his manner utterly respectful.

“Greetings, Eldest Senior Brother!”

“Eldest Senior Brother!”

The other two Tribulation experts also hurriedly bowed in salute.

"Greetings, Martial Uncle!" Vulcan Pi’s face lit up with joy as he bowed—he hadn’t expected the sect-suppressing Immortal to be alarmed.

"Greetings, Sect-Suppressing Immortal!" Several other Tribulation experts also bowed deeply.

Hearing their greetings, Tabitha Feng and Tabitha Xian’er were both startled and nervously bowed as well.

The only person who remained standing was Ian Song.

"You may all rise!"

The sect-suppressing Immortal spoke calmly, then fixed his gaze on Ian Song: "Boy, you’ve got nerve, coming here to cause trouble in my Fire God Church. Do you really think we have no one to stop you?"

Ian Song’s face stayed calm, but inwardly he was shocked—the Immortal had shattered his blood-rain domain with a mere gesture, proving that Immortals were even stronger than he’d imagined.

The next moment, Ian Song cupped his hands respectfully: "Senior, please don’t misunderstand. I only came to discuss matters with your church, but your sect master Vulcan Pi was too aggressive, which led to all this trouble!"

At that moment, a pressure like the might of heaven and earth enveloped Ian Song, leaving him unable to move at all.

The Immortal’s voice continued: "Whether you came to talk or to provoke us, you killed several of our Tribulation experts and must pay for it. However, my sect is short a tea-serving boy; if you’re willing to serve as my attendant, I’ll spare your life!"

Boom!

Suddenly, a ring of starlight burst from Ian Song’s body, forcibly repelling the oppressive aura. He had activated the third layer of his Ten Thousand Stars physique. Ian lifted his head slightly, looking at the fiery figure above with calm disdain: "You want me as your attendant? Heh, you’ve got some nerve. Are you even worthy?"

"Courting death!"

The fiery figure flicked his finger, and a burst of force slammed into Ian Song’s chest.

Instantly, it was as if Ian Song had been hit by a speeding train; he crashed into the ground a thousand meters away.

"Ian Song!"

Seeing this, Tabitha Xian’er cried out and rushed toward him, while Vulcan Pi’s face showed deep satisfaction.

"I’m fine, cough cough!"

Just then, Ian Song suddenly stood up, but coughed up blood. He hadn’t expected the Immortal to be so powerful—a casual blow had broken through even his third-layer Ten Thousand Stars physique. He realized that even if he used the Ninth Change of Nine Stellar Transformations, he still couldn’t match an Immortal.

Tabitha Xian’er supported Ian Song, her face full of worry.

The Immortal’s voice rang out again: "Surviving a blow from me is lucky enough. Let me ask you one more time—will you serve as my attendant or not?"

"Heh, I’m just afraid you don’t dare!"

Ian Song sneered, tossing an identity token toward the Immortal. "I am a disciple of Immortal Elder Jun Skyreach of the Phoenix Heaven Church’s Male Phoenix Line. If you insist on making me your attendant, you insult not only my master, but the Phoenix Heaven Church itself."
