Faced with Princess Myra Vance's pointed demand, Ian Song didn't answer. Instead, he strode forward, making the hearts of every guard in the Myriad-Phenomena Palace tense up. They rushed forward and formed a human wall, blocking his way.
The middle-aged chief guard, Gavin Lone, barked, "Enough! Step back now, or take one more step and you'll bleed right here!"
Just then, Princess Myra Vance's voice rang out: "Gavin, withdraw the men. I don't think he dares harm anyone in my palace!"
Gavin Lone, the chief guard of the princess's manor, was a peak ninth-tier War General—three or five of his peers together still couldn't match him.
At her words, Gavin frowned slightly but obeyed Princess Myra Vance, withdrawing his men.
Ian Song kept moving forward until he reached Princess Myra herself.
But he didn't spare her a second glance. Instead, he bent down and gently helped Lynne Ward to her feet, his voice soft: "Silly girl, you underestimate your husband too much. Don't ever do something like this again—it hurts me."
Hearing Ian's gentle words, Lynne Ward felt a wave of happiness flood her whole body. She couldn't hold back anymore and threw herself into his arms, sobbing, "Husband, it's all my fault—I dragged you into this!"
Ian smiled and stroked her hair. "How can you say that? I'm your husband, you're my wife. Even if you poke a hole in the sky, I'll be the one to hold it up for you. Enough, don't cry anymore!" As he spoke, he gently wiped away her tears.
"Wu wu!"
But the more he wiped, the more her tears flowed.
Ian laughed, "Alright, if you keep crying, you'll turn into a little kitten. Come on, let your husband take you home!"
Lynne nodded, her eyes still brimming with tears.
With Lynne cradled in his arms, Ian turned around without even glancing at Princess Myra Vance and headed straight for the exit.
Seeing this, Princess Myra was furious. Ian Song had completely ignored her, and her beautiful face turned icy cold. Her body trembled with rage.
Just as Ian Song was about to leave the princess's manor, Princess Myra Vance finally snapped, shouting, "Evan Chu! What do you take my palace for—coming and going as you please? Lynne Ward is my maid now, she's not someone you can just take away!"
Lynne Ward tried to plead, but Ian gently covered her lips and whispered, "Don't say anything—leave it to me."
He looked up at Princess Myra Vance, his tone flat: "So what do you want to do about it?"
His casual attitude only stoked Princess Myra's fury further. In a voice colder than ice, she said, "Evan Chu, listen carefully: if you kneel and beg for mercy right now, and stay in my palace as a regular guard, I can still let you off!"
Ian Song just smiled and replied, "Don't be so sure of yourself, Princess. I never wanted to be your enemy. If you let it go now, we can stay out of each other's way. But if you insist on making trouble, I won't give you any face at all."
Ian Song just smiled nonchalantly. "Princess Myra, let me give you some advice—don't be so sure of yourself. I never intended to be your enemy, but if you let this go now, we can stay out of each other's way. If you insist on making trouble, don't blame me for showing you no respect!"
"Hahaha!"
Princess Myra Vance laughed in fury. "Show me respect? Who do you think you are—a lowborn from the outer Domain! Guards, seize him! Life or death doesn't matter!"
"Seize him!"
At Gavin Lone's wave, two ninth-tier and six eighth-tier War General guards sprang into action, charging at Ian Song.
These guards were the elite of the Myriad-Phenomena Army, veterans of countless battles and masters of coordinated attacks. Their auras merged as one, locking onto Ian Song.
"Close your eyes. It'll be over soon!" Ian told Lynne Ward, then carried her as he rose into the air to meet the attackers.
With one hand, Ian threw a punch—divine light bursting forth, thunder rumbling faintly beneath it.
"Aoo! Aoo! Aoo!"
The roar was like dragons singing, or ancient giant elephants trumpeting!
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
Energy burst against energy, colliding with brutal force.
At the very first clash, Ian Song didn’t just withstand the eight-man assault—he actually advanced another step.
BAM! BAM!
He threw out a punch, wild and unrestrained, like a heavenly steed running free!
Two eighth-tier War General guards were sent flying, crashing hundreds of meters away.
At the same time, Ian twisted his body, swept out his arm in a rapid arc, unleashing a flash of divine light like lightning—blasting two more eighth-tier War Generals away.
Just then, a blade and a sword struck from above and below—the attackers were the two ninth-tier War Generals.
“Good! Bring it on!”
Ian shifted his fist into a palm and slapped out in quick succession.
A moment later, both ninth-tier War Generals were sent flying backwards.
Ian blurred with speed, closing in on the last two eighth-tier War Generals before they could react.
BAM! BAM!
The two didn’t even have time to react before Ian kicked them both flying.
“What—?”
“This is unbelievable!”
“He’s a monster! How can that bastard be this strong?”
The crowd was left stunned, frozen in disbelief.
Even Princess Myra Vance was shaken by the scene—two ninth-tier and six eighth-tier War Generals, all defeated by Evan Chu in just three breaths.
Even Gavin Lone couldn’t do that, could he?
Ian descended slowly from midair, still holding Lynne Ward, then addressed Princess Myra: “Since you didn’t harm Lynne, I’ll spare your people this time. But if anyone tries attacking again, I’ll show no mercy.”
“Princess, allow me to fight!”
Gavin Lone spoke in a deep, determined voice.
“Enough. Let’s end it here.”
Princess Myra’s expression turned desolate as she waved her hand, finally realizing that someone as decisive and monstrously gifted as Evan Chu could never be forced into her service. Looking back, her earlier tactics now seemed like a losing move.
“But Princess…?” Gavin Lone’s face showed unwillingness.
“Let him go! Sunny, we’re leaving!”
With that, Princess Myra turned and walked away.
“Husband!”
Seeing the conflict resolved so simply, Lynne Ward could hardly believe it.
“Let’s go home.”
Ian smiled at her.
“Mm!”
Lynne Ward buried her face in Ian’s chest, overflowing with pride and an almost worshipful admiration for her husband.
She’d never dreamed her husband could be so overwhelmingly strong!
“Sir!”
As soon as they stepped out of the princess’s residence, the Dragonfolk warrior who’d escorted Ian there dropped to his knees in reverence. He’d witnessed everything; at first, he hadn’t understood why Silver Xiu had warned him to treat this human with utmost respect. Now, he finally realized Ian Song was a top-tier powerhouse he could only look up to.
Half an hour later.
Ian brought Lynne Ward back to the Dragonfolk Liaison Station.
He’d already sent a message ahead to Lena Wei and Flora Thrall, so both women were dressed and waiting for his return.
“Lena Wei pays her respects to Madam!”
“Flora Thrall greets Madam!”
Seeing Lynne Ward in Ian’s arms, both women stepped forward and bowed. After all, they were only his maids—Lynne Ward was his official, rightful wife.
