When Cici decided at the last minute to take the kids on vacation, she called the cleaning company to come and tidy up in advance.
So, when the three of them walked in, the house was spotless and bright, fresh flowers arranged on the dining table, radiating vitality and life.
"Wow, Mommy's little house is so pretty!" Miles Gu opened every room, checking them all out one by one.
It was a two-story detached cottage, with just four rooms, a living room, a dining room, and two bathrooms.
But it had a big yard, with a lawn and a beautiful swing.
Under the swing was a small flower bed, and in this brilliant spring, the flowers were in full bloom.
Not far away, there was a little vegetable patch where they grew some vegetables brought from China.
Even though the house was small, it really felt cozy.
Especially the sight of Mommy in an apron cooking in the kitchen—it was almost too beautiful to be real.
Ethan Yin and Miles Gu stood in the garden, just able to see the busy figure in the kitchen.
"Brother, what should we do? Suddenly, I really don't want to go back to Dad anymore—I just want to stay with Mommy." Ethan Yin quietly watched Cici's busy figure and said, "The past couple of days, Mommy seems much happier with us around. If we just leave so easily, she'll probably be sad, right?"
Miles Gu's red eyes flashed as he said, "Ethan, don't forget our goal! If we get Mommy to go back to China, won't we have the best of both worlds?"
Ethan Yin turned his head and sighed. For someone so young, his sigh was surprisingly mature.
"We can max out Mommy's favorability, but getting her to return to China is just too hard." Ethan sighed again. "Why is Dad's progress so slow? When will Mommy fall in love with him again?"
Miles Gu tilted his head, thought for a moment, and said, "If we chase after Mommy together, it should go faster, right? But Ethan, I think we have something even more important right now."
"What's that?" Ethan Yin looked up at Miles, who gestured with his mouth toward something.
Ethan Yin turned to look around, thought for a moment, and his eyes suddenly darkened. "You mean, this is one of the Paris underground arms trading sites? Seriously? What are the odds?"
"Can you believe it?" Miles Gu crossed his arms and said, "But our dear Mommy seems completely clueless! And today... just happens to be the day of the monthly deal!"
At that moment, Ethan Yin looked like a little grown-up, his brows furrowed deeply as he said, "Looks like we need to set things up early! If those people dare mess with Mommy, we'll send them straight to heaven to meet God!"
"Deal!" Miles Gu nodded without hesitation.
Hmph, anyone who tries to hurt Mommy can just go meet God!
Cici looked up and saw her two little buns swinging back and forth on the swing.
Just one look at them was enough to melt her heart.
"Stop playing and come wash your hands for dinner!" Cici called her little buns inside to eat.
As the two little buns walked in, they heard several cars pull up in front of the neighbor's house.
Ethan Yin and Miles Gu checked the license plates, their expressions turning all kinds of strange.
"Daddy's here too? Well, tonight's definitely not going to be peaceful!" Ethan Yin whispered to Miles Gu, "If Daddy shows up, those people will definitely get the news. Do you think they'll try something against him?"
"Them? They're just asking for trouble." Miles Gu snorted. "But with Daddy here, Mommy's safe."
Ethan Yin squeezed his chubby little hand under his chin, his eyes twinkling as he suddenly smiled mysteriously. "I just realized why Daddy's here."
"Hmm?" Miles Gu looked confused.
"Hero saves the beauty!" Ethan Yin's eyes sparkled. "That's what they always say on TV."
Miles Gu: "...You're overthinking it..."
From another perspective, Ethan Yin really was overthinking things.
The reason Charles Yin came over and stayed next door wasn't to play the hero at all!
He actually wanted to hand the hero's job over to them!
He was just here to watch the show!
That's right, their dear Daddy was just here for the entertainment!
All he needed now was his charm—no heroics required!
Daddy was here to awaken the motherly instincts deep inside Cici!
So she'd never be able to stop worrying about her little buns!
Then she had no choice but to fall right into the cunning CEO Charles Yin's trap!
That's right, that's exactly how it is!
After a delicious lunch, while Cici tidied up the rooms, Ethan Yin and Miles Gu used playing in the yard as an excuse to set up plenty of security lines outside their house.
If the traders are sensible and stay away, everything will be fine. But if they come looking for trouble... hehe, Young Master Ethan Yin will show them what happens when you mess with us!
Miles Gu installed surveillance cameras at every angle of the house; all the blind spots were covered on his laptop.
Cici always thought the two kids were just playing games in the yard and didn't pay much attention.
She personally set up the children's room for the two kids, and even cleaned the balcony meant for stargazing, laying down a white carpet.
Then she tossed a few throw pillows over—at night, with the gentle spring breeze and the stars above, life couldn't get any more comfortable.
Just thinking about cuddling with her two little ones and stargazing at night put Cici in the best mood.
It was only in the afternoon that Rona Muir finally drove back.
"Ah, I'm exhausted!" Rona Muir shouted as soon as she walked in the door.
Actually, even if she hadn't shouted, Miles Gu would have known she was back...
He'd seen her from far away on the surveillance cameras, after all.
"Godmother!" Ethan Yin and Miles Gu called out sweetly at the same time.
"Good babies, you haven't seen your godmother all day—did you miss me?" Rona Muir smiled and hugged the two little ones.
"Godmother says! You left yesterday evening and were gone a whole day and night!" Ethan Yin pouted and acted cute. "Godmother, you broke your promise!"
Rona Muir looked a little embarrassed.
Having a son that's too smart isn't always a good thing!
"That's right! Godmother said she'd only be gone for a little while, but that little while turned into twenty-four hours." Miles Gu joined in, accusing Rona Muir of her 'crime.'
Rona Muir felt all kinds of guilty... Who could have expected that jerk Sean Kerr would find his way to Paris? If she wasn't trying to avoid him, she wouldn't have had to go through all that trouble.
