Walking in the Night

The little girl heard she had to leave and looked up at Evan Yang, "Big brother, will we still be able to see you?"

"If there's a chance, you'll see me again." Evan Yang smiled.

"Then I'll go now. Thank you, big brother." said the little girl, then she said goodbye to Evan Yang.

Evan Yang watched them leave for a long time before finally relaxing.

"They're far enough now, let's head back." Hannah Nangong said.

"Yeah, it's about time. Let's go, it's time to go back and deal with them." Evan Yang's expression turned grim. Seeing his face, Hannah Nangong knew he must be angry about what just happened.

The two walked to a deserted corner, concealed themselves with some cover, then emerged and returned to the inn after a short while.

Evan Yang took out the soul and asked, "Who are you people? And how did you follow us?"

The man was terrified, never expecting to be left with only his soul, and could be destroyed at any moment.

"I'll talk, I'll talk! We're from the Bullard Clan. Seven of us came this time, and a man named Quinn Qing led us here." the man said in panic.

"So it really is him." Evan Yang muttered when he heard Quinn Qing's name.

"Let me go, I'm really innocent." the man pleaded.

"Innocent? You just tried to grab that little girl and hurt her father, didn't you?" Evan Yang snorted coldly.

"I—I—it was the young master who made me do it." the soul said gloomily.

"Enough with the excuses. Tell me, your young master, Quinn Qing, and the other four—what are their cultivation levels?" Evan Yang asked.

"The other three—one is an Immortal Lord, the rest are Heavenly Immortals." the soul replied.

"So there really is an Immortal Lord. How strong is he?" Evan Yang asked.

"He's just recently advanced to first-tier Immortal Lord." The soul, not daring to lie, explained everything in detail.

"Where is Quinn Qing now?" Evan Yang asked.

"I don't know. He disappeared shortly after arriving. The last I heard, he sent a message to our young master, telling him to find someone to test your room. That's why I went to grab the little girl." the soul said, trembling.

Evan Yang finally understood, "So he's the one behind all this."

"I've told you everything, just let me go." the soul pleaded.

"I might let you go, but let's settle this first." Yang Han said.

He put the soul away, glanced outside, and saw that it was almost dark.

"What do we do now?" Hannah Nangong asked, curious since she didn't know Yang Han's plan.

"Wait until it's dark, then we'll deal with them." Yang Han said.

"Oh? What method?" Hannah Nangong asked, curious.

"Of course, something good." Yang Han smiled, then produced more than twenty strange little insects.

"You have this hobby?" Hannah Nangong was shocked to see Yang Han take out so many weird insects.

"Hobby? No, I raised these, but not for show—these are for dealing with people. Now's the perfect time to use them." Yang Han chuckled.

"Deal with people? With bugs this small? Can they even kill anyone?" Hannah Nangong asked, puzzled. "I picked small ones on purpose—they're hard to spot at night. Watch." Yang Han commanded the swarm.

The bugs shrank again until they were no bigger than a pinky finger.

"I used those bugs I bred with the poison from the well. It's weird—I just wanted to test the toxicity, but even the Immortal Lord couldn't handle it." Evan Yang laughed.

Evan Yang listened and wondered, "Could there really be a toad living down there?"

Outside, in the darkness, one of the group noticed something flying out from Hannah Nangong's window and asked suspiciously, "Did you see anything?"

"We'll check again tomorrow, but tonight, let's go settle things with those guys. That poison is really something." Evan Yang chuckled.

"Just some bugs, what's the big deal?" Bullard Duo said.

So Evan Yang and Hannah Nangong walked over and pushed open their door, seeing all five men sitting there, their bodies purple and black from the poison.

The five men heard footsteps, opened their eyes, and were shocked to see Evan Yang and Hannah Nangong. But they couldn't move—if they did, the poison they'd barely suppressed would erupt again, making things even worse.

"Strange, why are there so many bugs in this freezing weather?" The Immortal Lord muttered after noticing them.

"Maybe they're just some unique local creatures. Nothing to fuss about." Bullard Duo said.

The others agreed. Just as these five let their guard down, the bugs suddenly swarmed onto their heads and bit them.

They moved so fast that by the time the group reacted, they were already slapping the bugs dead with their hands.

"Damn it, what rotten luck," Bullard Duo grumbled after being bitten several times.

The others were annoyed too—how could they be tricked by a bunch of bugs?

As they cursed, they suddenly realized something was wrong—their faces were turning black.

"What's happening?" Bullard Duo exclaimed in shock.

"This is bad—the bugs are poisonous!" the Immortal Lord cried, and the others quickly sat down to force the poison out.

"I used those bugs I bred with the poison from the well. It's weird—I just wanted to test the toxicity, but even the Immortal Lord couldn't handle it." Evan Yang laughed.
