"Hey, Evan Chu, are you kidding me right now? Just now Rhea Yang secretly told me you’re so fierce it’s scary, and now you’re suddenly talking about abstinence? Is it that you think these two girls aren’t pretty enough, or are you looking down on me?" Lily Tang’s fiery temper flared up instantly.
Evan Chu shot Rhea Yang a glare—this little minx actually tattled to Lily Tang about that? Seriously, she’s got guts. He could only sigh and say helplessly, "I unleashed a powerful attack today, you saw it yourself. I need a few days to recover. Let’s save the wedding night for when we’re back in the Royal Capital. Besides, I can’t just ruin the purity of two innocent girls for no reason. I really can’t do that."
The four of them were stunned—everything they’d planned was instantly ruined by Evan’s words. "Evan, you’re not tricking us again, are you? This is your wedding night! How could you treat Lily Tang like this?" Rhea Yang jumped in, indignant.
"Rhea, I haven’t even settled accounts with you yet. You actually dared to spill the secret. Once I’ve recovered, I’ll make you stay in bed for three days!" Evan threatened fiercely.
"Evan, since you’re not feeling well, let’s just talk. I haven’t seen you in so long, there’s so much I want to say, but I don’t even know where to start." Lily said softly.
"Save it for later. I’m giving you a Star Crystal—your cultivation realm is way too weak. Absorb the Stellar Power inside and see if you can break through. Rhea, you cultivate too. As for you two," Evan said to the maidservants, "just get a good night’s sleep. Later on, I’ll help you find good husbands. That way I can say I did a good deed."
After handing over a Star Crystal, Evan checked his storage ring—only seven left. He really couldn’t afford to keep giving them away so casually.
So Lily and Rhea absorbed the Stellar Power from the Star Crystal, while the two maidservants slept. The night passed just like that. Lily directly broke through a realm after absorbing the Star Crystal’s power, shocked and moved by its strength.
Meanwhile, Evan lay awake, planning how to reach the Vermilion Bird Clan. Once there, would Roxanne Lin be willing to leave the Vermilion Bird Temple with him? Would those Vermilion Bird experts try to stop him?
At dawn the next day, Evan left with Lily and Rhea. He’d already told Quentin Tang he was taking Lily away, so there was no need for a tearful goodbye.
Yesterday, Evan had already told the middle-aged man who knew the Vermilion Bird Clan’s location to wait for him at the small town by Tang Inn—no more than three days, and Evan would come find him. The man was so terrified he didn’t dare disobey, agreeing immediately.
After that, Evan took both women and teleported straight back to Yang Gate. He met Darren Yang and explained he was taking Rhea Yang back to the Great General’s Manor. Darren didn’t dare object, only hoping Evan and Rhea would visit him when they had time.
Leaving Yang Gate, Evan grabbed the two women and soared into the sky, then started teleporting again. Carrying two people, the speed was still fast but the distance was much shorter—each jump covered at most two hundred li. It took about an hour to reach the Great General’s Manor.
When Evan returned to the manor with Rhea and Lily, the whole Chu clan came out to greet them. Victor Chu looked at Evan and asked, "Evan, did you really bring Lily and Rhea back? Did you go out just to fetch them these last few days?"
"Dad, from now on, they’re your daughters-in-law too. I went out this time specifically to marry them." Evan laughed.
"Dad!" "Dad!" The two girls called out to Victor Chu one after another. Victor looked completely baffled, staring at the three of them in confusion.
"Dad, both Rhea and Lily had to hold public Marriage Tournaments because of clan politics. Naturally, only your son could win. We’ve already held the wedding ceremonies, and now we’ve come back to show our filial respect." Evan grinned.
"Rhea, Lily, congratulations—you finally got what you wanted!" Jenny Sima said, though her expression held a hint of sadness.
Evan noticed instantly. He understood Jenny Sima’s feelings—he really ought to give her a proper place. Both Lily and Rhea had met him later but already married him, while Jenny still had no formal status. It wasn’t right.
"Jenny, once I’ve handled my urgent business, I’ll make it up to you. I’ll let you wear the bridal dress and marry me in style, with a grand wedding and all the nobles of the Royal Capital in attendance." Evan promised.
"Thank you, Evan. Let’s talk about it after you’re done with your business—we’ve got plenty of time." Jenny Sima smiled, her sadness vanishing instantly.
Victor Chu spoke up, "Since daughters-in-law have entered the family, we have to drink and celebrate today. I’ll have the servants prepare food and wine, you all chat for now!"
After Victor left, Zack Zhao, Gus Bullard, Sterling Yates, and the others congratulated Evan. "Boss, congrats! Your wish finally came true! All the brothers are happy for you!"
"We’re all brothers here, no need for all that. You guys have had it tough these past two years—I know it, and I won’t treat you badly. Come on, let’s sit in the main hall." Evan said.
Soon the feast was ready, and everyone ate and drank happily. Jenny Sima, Lily, and Rhea were all called ‘sister-in-law’ by the others, making them a bit embarrassed.
Once everyone was nearly done drinking, Evan suddenly said, "I have to make a trip to the Vermilion Bird Clan. I’m not sure how long I’ll be gone—the timing is urgent, so I’ll be leaving soon. Don’t worry about me. When I return, I promise I’ll bring you all a big surprise."
"Evan, you’re leaving again?" Victor Chu asked, not understanding why Evan always had so many things to handle.
"Dad, there are things I have to do. As the sect master, I have responsibilities I can’t avoid. Don’t worry—your son is strong enough that there’s no real danger." Evan said confidently.
"If that’s the case, then go early and come back early. Don’t forget, you’ve got three women waiting for you here." Victor Chu reminded him.
After giving last instructions to Jenny, Lily, Rhea, and his brothers, Evan left the manor and chain-teleported, reaching the small town by dusk where he’d told the middle-aged informant to wait.
Evan quickly found the man. The other person who’d been with him had already left, too scared of Evan to stay nearby.
"Where exactly is the place? I’ll fly you there myself." Evan asked bluntly.
"It’s in a mountain valley east of here, near Sunsetfall City—a pretty big city. The valley is no more than five hundred li from Sunsetfall City." the man replied.
Hearing this, Evan grabbed the man by the collar and shot into the sky. It was the man’s first time flying—he was so scared he nearly wet himself. Evan didn’t care, instantly teleporting as fast as he could, hoping to reach Sunsetfall City quickly and investigate the valley the next day…
